શેડુભારમાં મંદિર નિર્માણ અર્થે પધારેલા સંતોને જમાડવા ઘરમાંથી બાજરાના લોટનો ટોપલો ઉપાડી દોડતાં પત્ની સાથે ખેંચતાણમાં કેડિયું ફાટી જવા છતાં અડગ રહી સવદાસભાઈ પટેલે સંતસેવા કરી સત્સંગની ટેક દીપાવી.
અમરેલી પાસે આવેલા શેડુભાર ગામમાં સવદાસભાઈ પટેલ નામે શ્રીજીમહારાજના એક અનન્ય અને પરમ નિષ્ઠાવાન હરિભક્ત રહેતા હતા. સંતોના યોગથી તેમને શ્રીહરિના સર્વોપરી પૂર્ણ પુરુષોત્તમપણાનો પાકો નિશ્ચય થયેલો હતો. તેઓ ખેતીવાડીએ સુખી હતા, પરંતુ તેમના ઘરમાં પત્ની અને પુત્રવધૂઓ સત્સંગના દ્વેષે સતત કજિયો-કંકાસ કરતી હતી.
એક દિવસ સવદાસભાઈને વિચાર આવ્યો: ‘મારા જીવનકાળ દરમિયાન જો ગામમાં ભગવાન શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણનું સુંદર મંદિર બને, તો સૌને દર્શન-ભજનની સુવિધા થાય અને સંતો પધારે ત્યારે ઉતારાની અનુકૂળતા રહે!’ તેમણે ગામના અન્ય હરિભક્તોની સંમતિ લઈ ગઢપુર જઈ ગોપીનાથજી મહારાજના દર્શન કર્યા. ગઢપુર મંદિરના કોઠારી સ્વામી સમક્ષ શેડુભારમાં મંદિર નિર્માણની અરજ કરતાં કોઠારીજીએ સાધુ મુકુંદજીવન સ્વામીને સંતમંડળ સાથે શેડુભાર મોકલ્યા.
સંતો શેડુભાર પધાર્યા ત્યારે સવદાસભાઈએ ભાવપૂર્વક કહ્યું, “સ્વામી! આજે મારી રસોઈ સ્વીકારો!” એમ કહી સંતોને ભિક્ષાટન કરતાં અટકાવી પોતે સીધું લેવા ઘેર ગયા. ઘેર જતાં જ પત્ની અને પુત્રવધૂઓએ સાધુઓને અન્ન આપવાની સાફ ના પાડી ઝઘડો શરૂ કર્યો. સવદાસભગતની નજર ઘંટી પાસે પડેલા દસ શેર બાજરાના દળેલા લોટના ટોપલા પર પડી; તેમણે કંઈ પણ બોલ્યા વિના ટોપલો માથે ઉપાડી મંદિર તરફ દોટ મૂકી! પત્ની પાછળ દોડી અને ડેલી બહાર નીકળતાં જ ભગતના કેડિયાની ચાળ પકડીને જોરથી ખેંચી! ખેંચતાણમાં કેડિયાની ચાળ ફાટી ગઈ, છતાં સવદાસભગત લોટનો ટોપલો સુરક્ષિત રીતે મંદિરે પહોંચાડી આવ્યા!
સંતોએ ફાટેલા કેડિયા વિશે પૂછતાં ભગતે હસતાં હસતાં કહ્યું, “સ્વામી! કેડિયું ભલે ફાટી ગયું, પણ હું દસ શેર બાજરાનો લોટ લઈ આવ્યો છું! આના રોટલા ઘડીને ઠાકોરજીને થાળ ધરાવો. ઘીના સ્થાને પ્રેમ છે; હવે જો ઘી લેવા ઘેર જઈશ તો ફરી કજિયો થશે! આજે મારી રસોઈ પૂરી થઈ, કાલે બીજા હરિભક્તને કહેજો!”
મુકુંદજીવન સ્વામી ભગતની ઘરની વિષમ સ્થિતિ અને તેમની અદ્ભુત સમર્પણભાવના જોઈ ગદ્ગદ થયા. તેમણે આશ્વાસન આપતાં કહ્યું, “ભગત! સંસાર દુઃખરૂપ છે, પણ આપની ભક્તિ ધન્ય છે!” સંતોએ પ્રેમપૂર્વક રોટલા બનાવી ઠાકોરજીને ધરાવી આરોગ્યા અને સવદાસભગત પર શ્રીહરિની અખંડ કૃપા વરસતી રહે તેવી પ્રાર્થના કરી. સમય જતાં સંતો અને સવદાસભાઈના પુરુષાર્થથી શેડુભારમાં ભવ્ય મંદિર નિર્માણ સંપન્ન થયું.

शेडुभार के सवदासभाई पटेल की अंगरखा फटने पर भी बाजरे के आटे से संतों की सेवा और मंदिर निर्माण
अमरेली के निकट शेडुभार गाँव में सवदासभाई पटेल नामक श्रीहरि के निष्ठावान भक्त रहते थे। वे साधन-संपन्न कृषक थे, किंतु उनके घर की स्त्रियाँ सत्संग से घोर द्वेष रखती थीं।
गाँव में स्वामिनारायण मंदिर के निर्माण हेतु वे गढपुर से साधु मुकुंदजीवन स्वामी के मंडल को शेडुभार ले आए। संतों के आगमन पर सवदासभाई ने अपने घर से भोजन की व्यवस्था करने का संकल्प किया। जब वे घर सामग्री लेने गए, तो पत्नी और बहुओं ने साधुओं को अनाज देने से इनकार कर कलह प्रारंभ कर दिया।
सवदासभाई ने चक्की के पास रखा दस सेर बाजरे के आटे का टोकरा उठाया और मंदिर की ओर दौड़ पड़े! पत्नी ने पीछे से उनका अंगरखा पकड़कर खींचा, जिससे अंगरखा फट गया, किंतु भक्त ने आटे का टोकरा संतों तक पहुँचा ही दिया।
फटे अंगरखे के साथ हँसते हुए सवदासभाई ने संतों से कहा, “स्वामी! अंगरखा भले फट गया, पर आटा आ गया है! इसके रोटले बनाकर भोग लगाइए। घी के स्थान पर मेरा भाव स्वीकार कीजिए; घी लेने जाऊँगा तो फिर झगड़ा होगा!” संतों ने उनके त्याग को देखकर भावविभोर होकर प्रभु से प्रार्थना की और गाँव में भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण पूर्ण हुआ।

Savdasbhai Patel of Shedubhar: Dedicated Food Service and Temple Building Despite Fierce Family Opposition
In the village of Shedubhar near Amreli lived Savdasbhai Patel, an earnest devotee of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Blessed with worldly prosperity through farming, his spiritual path was nonetheless challenged by his wife and daughters-in-law, who vehemently opposed Satsang.
Yearning to establish a permanent spiritual haven in his village, Savdasbhai resolved to build a Swaminarayan temple. He visited Gadhpur and requested the temple administrator to dispatch a group of sadhus. Pleased, the authorities assigned Sadguru Mukundjivan Swami and his monastic retinue to Shedubhar.
Upon the saints’ arrival, Savdasbhai insisted on sponsoring their first sanctified meal, heading home to fetch flour and supplies. At home, his wife and family created a fierce commotion, flatly refusing to give a single grain to the ascetics. Spotting a large basket containing ten seers (nearly ten kilograms) of freshly milled millet flour near the grinding stone, Savdasbhai scooped it up and sprinted toward the temple! His wife pursued him and yanked the hem of his kediyu (traditional pleated tunic) at the doorway. Though his garment tore down the side, Savdasbhai held fast to the basket and delivered the flour safely to the saints!
Seeing his torn attire, the saints inquired what had transpired. Savdasbhai smiled serenely: “Swami! Never mind the torn tunic, I have secured ten seers of millet flour! Bake rotlas and offer the sacred thal to Thakorji. In place of ghee, please accept my pure devotion, for if I return for ghee, another battle will ensue! My service for today is accomplished!”
Deeply moved by the farmer’s supreme devotion in the face of familial hostility, Mukundjivan Swami consoled him and offered heartfelt prayers for his welfare. Through the shared efforts of the saints and devotees, a splendid temple was successfully erected in Shedubhar.
