પીપલાણામાં વેલાભાઈ સોનીએ પોતાના છ માસના અતિ ક્રોધી બાળકના વિચિત્ર વર્તનની રામાનંદ સ્વામી સમક્ષ વ્યથા કહી. સ્વામીએ ઘરે પધારી બાળકના પૂર્વજન્મનો સ્વભાવ ટાળી મુક્તિ અપાવી સુખડના લાકડે અગ્નિસંસ્કાર કરાવ્યો.
એક સમયે ઉદ્ધવાવતાર ગુરુદેવ સદગુરુ શ્રી રામાનંદ સ્વામી પીપલાણા ગામે બિરાજમાન હતા. તે વખતે આખા ગામના સુવર્ણકાર હરિભક્ત વેલાભાઈ સોની બે હાથ જોડી કાકલૂદી કરતાં બોલ્યા: “હે સ્વામી! અમારે માથે એક મોટું દુઃખ આવી પડ્યું છે. આપ જેવા સમર્થ સંત રસ્તો ન બતાવો તો અમે જીવી શકીએ તેમ નથી!”
સ્વામીએ સાંત્વના આપતાં પૂછ્યું: “વેલાભાઈ! શાંત થાઓ અને માંડીને વાત કરો કે શી વિપત્તિ આવી પડી છે?” વેલાભાઈ સોનીએ આંસુ લૂછતાં કહ્યું: “સ્વામી! છ મહિના પહેલાં અમારે ઘેર એક દીકરાનો જન્મ થયો છે. જ્યારથી જન્મ્યો છે ત્યારથી તે દિવસ-રાત રોયા જ કરે છે, કોઈ છાનો રાખી શકતું નથી! એક દિવસ તે ખૂબ રોતો હતો એટલે મેં વહાલથી તેને ઘોડિયામાંથી તેડવા હાથ લંબાવ્યા, તો એ છ મહિનાના બાળકે મારા મોં પર એવો જોરદાર લાત (પાટું) મારી કે મને ચક્કર આવી ગયા! એની માતાને પૂછ્યું તો તેણે પણ રડતાં કહ્યું કે એ બાળક એની છાતીમાં પણ પાટા મારે છે અને આંખો કાઢીને ઘૂરે છે! આપ મોટા સંત પધાર્યા છો, માટે આ રહસ્ય આપ વિના કોણ ઉકેલી શકે?”
રામાનંદ સ્વામી મંદ મંદ હસ્યા અને બોલ્યા: “વેલા! તું ઘેર જા, અમે હમણાં જ તારે ઘેર આવીએ છીએ!” વેલાભાઈએ ઘેર જઈ ગુરુદેવના સ્વાગતની સુંદર તૈયારી કરી. થોડીવારમાં રામાનંદ સ્વામી સંતો સાથે પધાર્યા. પૂજન-અર્ચન બાદ સ્વામી બેઠક પરથી ઊભા થઈ સીધા ઘોડિયા પાસે ગયા. સ્વામીને જોતાં જ પેલો છ માસનો નાનો બાળક ભયાનક ક્રોધથી પોતાની આંખોના ડોળા કાઢીને ઘૂરવા લાગ્યો!
રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ એ બાળકની સામે એકીટશે દ્રષ્ટિ સ્થિર કરી ગંભીર વાણીમાં કહ્યું: “અરે જીવ! તું અહીં આવી ચડ્યો? સાત-સાત જન્મ વીતી ગયા તોય તારો ક્રોધી સ્વભાવ ન ટળ્યો? આવા દિવ્ય સત્સંગીના ઘેર જન્મ લીધો છતાં તેં તારો દુષ્ટ સ્વભાવ ન મૂક્યો? તારા આ તામસી સ્વભાવનો ત્યાગ કર, નહિતર તારી દુર્ગતિ મટશે નહીં!” સ્વામીના આ શબ્દો સાંભળતાં જ તે બાળક મોટા મોટા ઘાંટા પાડીને આક્રંદ કરવા લાગ્યો!
સ્વામીએ બાળકના મસ્તક પર હાથ મૂકી વેલાભાઈને કહ્યું: “વેલા! આને ઘોડિયામાંથી બહાર કાઢી ઉત્તર દિશા તરફ મુખ રાખીને બેસાડો!” વેલાભાઈએ બાળકને બહાર બેસાડ્યો. આ બધું નિહાળી પીપલાણાના ભક્ત નરસિંહ મહેતાએ પૂછ્યું: “સ્વામી! આ જીવાત્મા પૂર્વજન્મમાં કોણ હશે?” રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ રહસ્ય ખોલતાં કહ્યું: “આ જીવાત્મા પૂર્વજન્મમાં મોટો તપસ્વી હતો. પોતાની તપશ્ચર્યાના પ્રતાપે તે નરકમાં તો ન ગયો, પરંતુ તેનો ક્રોધ અને અહંકારનો સ્વભાવ અધૂરો રહી ગયો હતો, જે આ જન્મમાં સાથે આવ્યો હતો. આજે અમારાં દર્શન અને સ્પર્શથી એનો એ જન્મજન્માંતરનો મલિન સ્વભાવ નાશ પામી ગયો છે! હવે એ પુનઃ સત્સંગમાં ઉત્તમ કુળમાં જન્મ લઈ પૂર્ણ પુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણની પ્રાપ્તિ કરશે અને એના ફેરા ટળી જશે!”
આટલી વાત કરી સ્વામી ઉતારે પધાર્યા. થોડી જ વારમાં તે બાળકે શાંતિપૂર્વક દેહત્યાગ કરી દીધો! રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ વેલાભાઈને સંદેશો પાઠવ્યો કે: “આ પવિત્ર મુક્ત જીવ છે, માટે એના દેહનો અંતિમ સંસ્કાર ચંદન (સુખડ)ના કાષ્ઠથી કરજો!” વેલાભાઈએ સુખડના લાકડે સંસ્કાર સંપન્ન કરી ગુરુદેવની અગાધ કૃપાનો અંતરથી આભાર માન્યો.

पीपलाणा में वेलाभाई सोनी के पुत्र का उग्र स्वभाव और सद्गुरु रामानन्द स्वामी का मोक्ष मार्ग
एक समय उद्धवावतार गुरुदेव सद्गुरु श्री रामानन्द स्वामी पीपलाणा गाँव में विराजमान थे। उस समय आखा गाँव के सुवर्णकार (सोनी) हरिभक्त वेलाभाई ने करबद्ध होकर प्रार्थना की: “हे स्वामी! हम पर एक बड़ा संकट आ पड़ा है। आप जैसे समर्थ संत यदि कोई मार्ग न दिखाएँ, तो हमारा जीना दूभर हो जाएगा!”
स्वामीजी ने सांत्वना देते हुए पूछा: “वेलाभाई! शांत होइए और विस्तार से बताइए कि क्या विपत्ति आई है?” वेलाभाई ने कहा: “स्वामी! छह मास पूर्व हमारे घर एक पुत्र का जन्म हुआ है। जन्म के समय से ही वह निरंतर रोता रहता है; घर का कोई भी सदस्य उसे शांत नहीं करा पाता! एक दिन वह अत्यधिक क्रंदन कर रहा था, तो मैंने उसे पालने से उठाने का प्रयास किया। उस छह माह के बालक ने मेरे मुख पर इतनी जोर से लात मारी कि मुझे चक्कर आ गए! जब मैंने उसकी माँ से पूछा, तो उसने भी बताया कि वह बालक उसकी छाती पर भी लातें मारता है और आँखें तरेरकर घूरता है! आप समर्थ संत पधारे हैं, अतः यह रहस्य आप ही सुलझा सकते हैं!”
रामानन्द स्वामी मुस्कुराए और बोले: “वेला! तुम घर जाओ, हम अभी तुम्हारे घर आते हैं!” वेलाभाई ने घर जाकर गुरुदेव के स्वागत की तैयारी की। कुछ ही समय में स्वामीजी संतों सहित पधारे। पूजन के पश्चात स्वामीजी सीधे पालने के पास गए। स्वामीजी को देखते ही वह छह माह का अबोध बालक भयानक क्रोध से आँखें फाड़-फाड़कर घूरने लगा!
रामानन्द स्वामी ने उस बालक पर दृष्टि स्थिर की और गंभीर स्वर में बोले: “अरे जीव! तू यहाँ आ गया? सात-सात जन्म बीत गए, फिर भी तेरा क्रोधी स्वभाव नहीं छूटा? ऐसे परम पवित्र सत्संगी के घर जन्म पाकर भी तूने अपना दुष्ट स्वभाव नहीं त्यागा? अपने इस तामसी स्वभाव को छोड़, अन्यथा तेरी दुर्गति का अंत नहीं होगा!” स्वामीजी के ये शब्द सुनते ही वह बालक जोर-जोर से चीखकर रोने लगा!
स्वामीजी ने उसके मस्तक पर हाथ रखा और वेलाभाई से कहा: “वेला! इसे पालने से बाहर निकालो और उत्तर दिशा की ओर मुख करके बैठाओ!” वेलाभाई ने वैसा ही किया। यह देखकर पीपलाणा के भक्त नरसी मेहता ने कौतूहलवश पूछा: “स्वामी! यह जीवात्मा पूर्वजन्म में कौन था?” रामानन्द स्वामी ने रहस्योद्घाटन किया: “यह जीव पूर्वजन्म में बड़ा तपस्वी था। अपनी उग्र तपस्या के बल पर यह नरक में तो नहीं गया, किंतु इसका क्रोधी और हठी स्वभाव नष्ट नहीं हुआ था। आज हमारे दर्शन और पावन स्पर्श से इसके जन्म-जन्मांतरों का वह दुर्गुण विनष्ट हो गया है! अब यह पुनः सत्संग में जन्म लेकर पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान को प्राप्त करेगा और जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाएगा!”
इतनी वार्ता कर स्वामीजी विश्राम स्थल पर लौटे। कुछ ही पलों में उस बालक ने शांत भाव से देह त्याग दिया! स्वामीजी ने वेलाभाई को निर्देश दिया: “यह पवित्र आत्मा है, अतः इसका अंतिम संस्कार चंदन (सुखड़) की लकड़ियों से करना!” वेलाभाई ने गुरुदेव की आज्ञानुसार संस्कार संपन्न कर उनकी असीम कृपा का अनुभव किया।

The Wrathful Nature of Velabhai Soni’s Infant at Piplana and Sadguru Ramanand Swami’s Liberation of the Soul
On one occasion, Sadguru Shri Ramanand Swami, the divine incarnation of Uddhava, was camping at Piplana village. A goldsmith devotee named Velabhai Soni from Akha village approached him with folded hands and deep agony: “O Swami! A grave misfortune has befallen our family. If a great, enlightened Satpurush like you does not show us a way out, our lives will be ruined!”
Consoling him, Ramanand Swami asked: “Velabhai! Calm yourself and explain clearly what affliction has occurred.” Wiping his tears, Velabhai explained: “Swami! Six months ago, a baby boy was born in our home. Ever since his birth, he cries uncontrollably day and night; no one in the household can soothe him. One day, seeing him crying bitterly, I bent over the cradle to gently pick him up. That six-month-old infant struck my face with such a violent kick that my head spun with dizziness! When I asked his mother, she wept and revealed that the child violently kicks her chest as well and glares menacingly with bulging eyes! Hearing of your arrival, I hurried here, knowing that none other than our Gurudev could unravel this mysterious torment!”
Ramanand Swami smiled gently and said: “Velabhai! Return home; we shall visit your house shortly!” Velabhai rushed home and prepared a reverent reception. Soon, Ramanand Swami arrived with his entourage. After accepting ceremonial adoration, Swami arose and walked directly over to the cradle. Beholding Swami, the six-month-old infant glared with piercing, wrathful eyes, his pupils bulging in fury!
Ramanand Swami gazed unblinkingly into the infant’s eyes and addressed the dwelling soul with stern authority: “O soul! Have you arrived here? Seven births have elapsed, yet your venomous wrath has not diminished! Even after taking birth in such a sacred Satsangi home, you refused to abandon your wicked nature? Cast away this demonic temper, or your spiritual degradation will never cease!” The moment Swami uttered these commanding words, the child burst into loud, desperate weeping!
Swami placed his sanctified hand upon the infant’s head and instructed: “Velabhai! Lift him out of the cradle and seat him facing north!” Velabhai followed the command. Observing this extraordinary scene, Narsi Mehta of Piplana asked with deep reverence: “Swami! Who was this soul in his previous life?” Ramanand Swami revealed the karmic mystery: “In his past life, this soul was a great ascetic. By virtue of his rigorous penance, he avoided falling into hell; however, his stubborn, fiery wrath remained untamed and carried over into this birth. Today, through our divine darshan and holy touch, that deep-seated poisonous disposition of countless lifetimes has been completely eradicated! He will now take birth once more in a devout Satsangi family, attain supreme Purushottam Narayan, and transcend the cycle of transmigration forever!”
Having spoken thus, Swami returned to his lodging. Within a few moments, the child peacefully discarded his mortal body! Ramanand Swami sent instructions to Velabhai: “This soul is now sanctified and liberated; perform his final cremation rites using pure sandalwood (sukhad) timber!” Velabhai cremated the body with fragrant sandalwood, praising the unfathomable mercy of his Gurudev.
