મૂળી મંદિરના નિર્માણ વખતે સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ અફીણના બંધાણી ગરાસિયાઓને પ્રભુપ્રેમનો મહિમા સમજાવ્યો અને દરબાર રામાભાઈ તથા રઘાભાઈને પરાક્રમી પુત્રરત્નોનું દિવ્ય વરદાન આપ્યું.
શ્રીજીમહારાજની આજ્ઞાથી સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામી ઝાલાવાડના મૂળી નગરમાં ભવ્ય શિખરબદ્ધ સ્વામિનારાયણ મંદિરનું નિર્માણ કરાવી રહ્યા હતા. સ્વામીના પ્રચંડ આધ્યાત્મિક પ્રભાવ અને કવિત્વશક્તિની સુવાસ સાંભળીને આજુબાજુના અનેક ગામોમાંથી મુમુક્ષુઓ અને જનસમુદાય દર્શને ઊમટતા હતા.
એક દિવસ આસપાસના ગામોમાંથી કેટલાક ગરાસિયા દરબારો સ્વામી પાસે આવ્યા. તેઓએ સ્વામીને દંડવત પ્રણામ કર્યા અને સભામાં કથાવાર્તા સાંભળવા બેઠા. આ તમામ ગરાસિયાઓ અફીણના ભારે બંધાણી હતા; ડાયરામાં કસુંબો પીધા વગર તેમને એક ઘડી પણ ચાલતું નહીં. સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ પોતાની પ્રભાવશાળી અને મર્મસ્પર્શી વાણીમાં સર્વેને વ્યસનો છોડી, પંચવર્તમાન ધારણ કરી શ્રીહરિના શરણે થવાનો બોધ આપ્યો. તેમણે આત્મા-પરમાત્માના ગૂઢ જ્ઞાનની વાતો વિસ્તારપૂર્વક સમજાવી.
સભા સમાપ્ત થતાં કેટલાક ગરાસિયાઓએ હાથ જોડીને કહ્યું, “સ્વામી! આપ મોટા સંત છો, અમારું કલ્યાણ કરજો!” બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ ગંભીરતાથી કહ્યું, “જેવો અગાધ પ્રેમ તમને તમારી સ્ત્રી, પુત્રો અને કુટુંબ-પરિવાર પ્રત્યે છે, તેવો જ નિષ્કપટ પ્રેમ જો ભગવાન અને તેમની ભક્તિમાં કરશો, તો જાઓ તમારું કલ્યાણ નિશ્ચિત છે!”
ગરાસિયાઓ ગયા પછી સભામાં બેઠેલા એક નવયુવાન સંતે સ્વામીને પૂછ્યું, “સ્વામી! આ બધા તો અફીણના ઘોર બંધાણી હતા; છતાં આપે તેમને આટલું સરળ કલ્યાણ કેમ બતાવ્યું?” બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ હસીને રહસ્ય સમજાવતાં કહ્યું, “સંત! આ કલ્યાણ સહેલું નથી! સંસારના નાશવંત સંબંધીઓમાં જેવો ગાઢ સ્નેહ હોય છે, તેવો નિર્મળ સ્નેહ સાક્ષાત્ પરમાત્મામાં થવો અતિશય કઠિન છે. પરંતુ જેને એક વાર ભગવાનમાં એવો દ્રઢ અનુરાગ થઈ જાય, તેને પછી જગતના નાશવંત પદાર્થોમાં કોઈ મોહ રહેતો જ નથી, અને તેનો મોક્ષ સહજ સિદ્ધ થાય છે!”
એ જ સભામાં મૂળીના દરબારો, ગરાસિયાઓ અને ચારણો પણ બેઠા હતા. તેમણે સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીને અરજ કરી, “સ્વામી! અમારા ગામધણી દરબાર રામાભાઈ તથા રઘાભાઈ બંને નિઃસંતાન છે; જો આપ કૃપા કરો તો તેમના આંગણે પારણું બંધાય!” આ સાંભળી અંતર્યામી સંત બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ આશીર્વાદ આપતાં કહ્યું, “શ્રીજીમહારાજ બંને દરબારોને ઉત્તમ પુત્રરત્નોની પ્રાપ્તિ કરાવશે!”
સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીના અમોઘ વરદાનથી દરબાર રામાભાઈને ઘેર વખતસિંહજી અને રઘાભાઈને ઘેર સરતાનસિંહજી નામે બે તેજસ્વી પુત્રોનો જન્મ થયો. બંને પુત્રો મોટા થઈને અતિ પરાક્રમી દરબાર બન્યા અને જીવનપર્યંત સ્વામિનારાયણ સંપ્રદાયના એકાંતિક સત્સંગી બની શ્રીહરિની સેવામાં અગ્રેસર રહ્યા.

मूली मंदिर निर्माण के समय सद्गुरु ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी का अफीमी गरासियाओं को उपदेश और दरबारों को पुत्ररत्न का वरदान
श्रीजी महाराज की आज्ञा से सद्गुरु ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी झालावाड़ के मूली नगर में भव्य शिखरबद्ध स्वामिनारायण मंदिर का निर्माण करवा रहे थे। स्वामी के अलौकिक प्रभाव एवं विद्वत्ता की ख्याति सुनकर दूर-दूर से लोग दर्शनार्थ आते थे।
एक दिन आसपास के कुछ गरासिया राजपूत स्वामीजी के दर्शन हेतु आए। वे सभी अफीम के घोर व्यसनी थे और कसुंबे के बिना उनका काम नहीं चलता था। स्वामीजी ने अपनी ओजस्वी वाणी में सबको व्यसनमुक्त होकर पंचवर्तमान धारण करने और प्रभु शरण में आने का दिव्य उपदेश दिया। सभा समाप्ति पर गरासियाओं ने प्रार्थना की, “स्वामी! हमारा कल्याण कीजिए।” ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी ने सहज भाव से कहा, “जैसा अगाध प्रेम तुम अपनी स्त्री और परिवार से करते हो, वैसा ही अनन्य प्रेम यदि भगवान और उनकी भक्ति में करोगे, तो तुम्हारा कल्याण निश्चित है!”
उनके जाने के बाद एक युवा संत ने पूछा, “स्वामी! ये तो अफीम के व्यसनी थे, फिर आपने इनका कल्याण इतना सरल कैसे बता दिया?” स्वामी ने मर्म समझाते हुए कहा, “साधु! यह सरल नहीं है। सांसारिक संबंधियों जैसा प्रगाढ़ प्रेम परमात्मा में होना अत्यंत दुष्कर है। किंतु जिसे प्रभु में ऐसा अनुराग हो जाए, उसका संसार से मोह स्वतः समाप्त हो जाता है और कल्याण सहज हो जाता है।”
उसी सभा में मूली के दरबारों एवं चारणों ने स्वामी से विनती की, “हमारे ग्रामधणी दरबार रामाभाई तथा रघाभाई निःसंतान हैं; यदि आपकी कृपा हो तो उनके घर संतान हो!” स्वामी ने आशीर्वाद दिया, “श्रीजी महाराज दोनों को प्रतापी पुत्र प्रदान करेंगे।”
ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी के वचन से रामाभाई के यहाँ वक्तसिंहजी और रघाभाई के यहाँ सरतानसिंहजी नामक दो पराक्रमी पुत्रों का जन्म हुआ, जो आगे चलकर महापराक्रमी शासक और निष्ठावान एकांतिक सत्संगी बने।

Sadguru Brahmanand Swami’s Discourse to Addicted Garasiyas during Muli Mandir Construction and Boon of Valorous Heirs
By the holy injunction of Shreeji Maharaj, Sadguru Brahmanand Swami was overseeing the grand construction of the pinnacled Swaminarayan mandir in Muli in the Jhalawad region. Drawn by Swami’s saintly majesty and poetic genius, people from all surrounding hamlets flocked for his divine association.
One day, several local Garasiya chieftains arrived to meet Swami. Prostrating reverently, they sat in the assembly to listen to his spiritual discourse. These Garasiyas were heavily addicted to opium, unable to pass a single day without partaking in customary opium draughts (kasumbo). In his stirring and heart-touching style, Sadguru Brahmanand Swami urged them to renounce their destructive addictions, observe the five moral precepts (Panch Vartman), and take refuge at the feet of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
As the congregation dispersed, some Garasiyas petitioned, “Swami! Please ensure our eternal salvation!” Brahmanand Swami looked at them intently and stated, “If you redirect the intense love and attachment you harbor for your wives, children, and worldly kin toward God and His holy worship, then your salvation is assured!”
After their departure, a junior saint curiously inquired, “Swami! These men were deeply mired in the vice of opium; why did you make their liberation appear so effortless?” Brahmanand Swami smiled and unveiled the deeper spiritual truth: “Saint! It is by no means easy. To cultivate the same intense love for God that humans naturally feel toward their worldly relatives is exceedingly difficult. Yet, once a soul develops that genuine love for the Almighty, worldly desires vanish entirely, and spiritual liberation is naturally secured!”
During the same gathering, local chieftains and bards made an earnest plea to Swami: “Our village rulers, Darbar Ramabhai and Raghabhai, are both childless. If you bestow your blessings, their lineage may continue!” Brahmanand Swami generously proclaimed, “Shreeji Maharaj will bless both rulers with noble sons!”
Through Sadguru Brahmanand Swami’s unfailing benediction, both rulers were blessed with sons—Vakhchatsinhji was born to Ramabhai, and Sartansinhji to Raghabhai. Both grew into valorous leaders and lifelong, devoted disciples of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
