શ્રીહરિ ભૂદેવનો વેશ લઈ કિશોર લાડુદાન ગઢવીને ખાણથી ભુજ લઈ જવા નીકળ્યા; માર્ગમાં પાલનપુર પાસે ખેડૂતના પુત્રને મોરપીંછ વડે સજીવન કરી રક્ષા કરી.
કચ્છ ભુજના મહારાવ લાખાજી દ્વારા સ્થાપિત સુપ્રસિદ્ધ પિંગળ પાઠશાળામાં કાવ્યશાસ્ત્રનો અભ્યાસ કરવા માટે ખાણ ગામના તેજસ્વી કિશોર ચારણ કવિ લાડુદાનજી ગઢવી (ભાવી સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામી) ને તેડવા માટે સ્વયં પરબ્રહ્મ શ્રીહરિ એક તેજસ્વી બ્રાહ્મણ (ભૂદેવ) નો વેશ ધારણ કરીને પધાર્યા.
લાડુદાનજી અને ભૂદેવ બંને ઘોડેસવારી કરતાં કરતાં ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં પાલનપુર નજીક એક ખેડૂતની વાડીએ સંધ્યાટાણે રાત્રિવાસો કરવા રોકાયા. વાડીના માલિકે આદરપૂર્વક ઉતારો આપ્યો. બંને વિશ્રામની તૈયારી કરતા હતા ત્યાં વાડીના માલિકના યુવાન પુત્ર ભીખાને ઝેરી સર્પે દંશ દીધો! રાત્રિના પ્રથમ પહોરમાં સર્પના ભયંકર વિષથી છોકરો બેભાન થઈ ગયો અને તેના છેલ્લા શ્વાસ ગણાવા લાગ્યા. પરિવારમાં આક્રંદ મચી ગયો.
લાડુદાનજીએ ભૂદેવને વિનંતી કરી: “હે બ્રહ્મર્ષિ! આપના પવિત્ર પગલાં આ ભૂમિ પર પડ્યાં છે, તો આ દુઃખી ખેડૂત પરિવારની વહારે ધાઓ! આપણે અતિથિ બન્યા હોઈએ અને આશ્રયદાતા પર આફત આવે તો આપણી આર્યસંસ્કૃતિ લાજે!”
ભૂદેવરૂપી શ્રીહરિએ કરુણાપૂર્વક કહ્યું: “ગભરાશો નહીં; મોરપીંછ હોય તો લાવો!” ખેડૂતે ચાર-પાંચ મોરપીંછ આપ્યાં. ભૂદેવે મોરપીંછના દાંડલાના ભાગના બારીક ટુકડા કરી માટીની ચલમમાં ભરી દીધા. પછી લાડુદાનજીને બે મોરપીંછ આપી કહ્યું: “લાડુદાન ગઢવી! તમે તો સાક્ષાત દેવીપુત્ર છો અને તમારું મોસાળ નાગકુળ છે! આ મોરપીંછ છોકરાના કાનમાં અડાડીને તેના નામનો સાદ પાડો!”
લાડુદાનજીએ મોરપીંછ કાનમાં ભરાવીને ત્રણ વાર સાદ કર્યો: “ભીખા… એ ભીખા!” ત્રીજા સાદે છોકરો સળવળ્યો અને આંખો ખોલી બેઠો થયો! ભૂદેવે તેને મોરપીંછની ચલમનો ધુમાડો પાયો, જેથી સર્પનું તમામ વિષ નાશ પામ્યું અને છોકરો સંપૂર્ણ સ્વસ્થ થઈ ગયો! આખો પરિવાર પ્રભુના ચરણોમાં પડી ગયો.
ત્યાંથી આગળ વધી રાધનપુર, માળિયા, સામખિયાળી થઈ તેઓ અંજાર પહોંચ્યા. ત્યાં કચ્છના નગરશેઠ મળતાં ભૂદેવે લાડુદાનજીને તેમને સોંપ્યા અને અંતર્ધાન થઈ ગયા. લાડુદાનજી ભુજની સંસ્કૃત પાઠશાળામાં દાખલ થયા અને મહાન રાજકવિ તરીકે ખ્યાતિ પામ્યા.

खाण गाँव के तेजस्वी चारण बालक लाडुदानजी गढ़वी (भावी ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी) को भुज की पिंगल काव्य-पाठशाला पहुँचाने हेतु साक्षात श्रीहरि ने एक तेजस्वी ब्राह्मण (भूदेव) का वेश धारण किया।
पालनपुर के पास एक खेत में रात्रि-विश्राम के समय किसान के पुत्र को विषैले सर्प ने डस लिया। बालक मृत्युशैया पर था। लाडुदानजी की प्रार्थना पर भूदेव (श्रीहरि) ने मोरपंख मँगवाए। मोरपंख की डंडियों के टुकड़े चिलम में भरे और लाडुदानजी से दो मोरपंख बालक के कानों में लगाकर पुकारने को कहा।
लाडुदानजी द्वारा “भीखा!” पुकारते ही बालक उठ बैठा। चिलम का धुम्रपान कराते ही सारा विष उतर गया! तदुपरांत अंजार पहुँचकर भूदेव ने लाडुदानजी को नगरसेठ को सौंपा और अंतर्धान हो गए।

Bhudev trimmed the hollow quills into small pieces and packed them into a clay pipe (chillum). Handing two feathers to Ladudanji, He said: “Ladudan Gadhvi! You are a divinely endowed poet with innate spiritual lineage; insert these feathers into the boy’s ears and call out his name!”
Ladudanji placed the feathers in the boy’s ears and called out: “Bhikha… O Bhikha!” At the third call, the boy stirred, opened his eyes, and sat up! Bhudev had him inhale the smoke from the peacock-feather pipe, completely neutralizing the snake venom. The overjoyed family prostrated before them.
Proceeding through Radhanpur and Maliya, they arrived at Anjar, where Bhudev introduced Ladudanji to the Nagarsheth who had come to receive him, and quietly vanished. Ladudanji was enrolled in the Bhuj Sanskrit Pathshala, blossoming into an extraordinary court poet.
