Takha Pagi’s Devotion at Bamroli, Muktanand Swami’s Dancing Kirtan, and the Inexhaustible Grain Bin

Supreme Lord Shreeji Maharaj graced the village of Bamroli, where His devoted disciple Takha Pagi and his two Sankhyayogi daughters served Him with boundless affection. Under a sprawling rayan tree, Takha Pagi prepared a lavish feast of sugar laddus. Tying His white cloth around His waist, Shreehari personally walked along the rows five times, coaxing everyone: “Take laddus! Take more laddus!” and saturating everyone with love.

When Takha Pagi invited Maharaj to his home, Shreehari mounted His mare Manki. At that moment, Sadguru Muktanand Swami tied brass ankle-bells (ghughara) to his feet, took kartals in his hands, and walked backward in front of Manki, singing devotional hymns in an ecstasy of love!

The chime of ankle bells, the rhythm of kartals, and the celestial sweetness of Swami’s voice cast a spiritual spell over all. Manki paced slowly in perfect synchrony with Swami’s steps. Although Takha Pagi’s house was merely the distance of a single field away, so enraptured was the procession that it took until evening aarti to cover the short distance!

Takha Pagi worshiped Shreehari with perfumes, sandalwood, and garlands, and performed aarti. At night, women devotees sang devotional garbas while Shreehari distributed sanctified sweets.

The next morning, Shreehari visited the home of Takha Pagi’s daughter. Touching her grain bin filled with pearl-millet with His cane, Shreehari blessed her: “Seal the top of this bin with an earthen pot; draw grain only from the bottom outlet, and it shall never run empty! But if you open it from the top, it will exhaust.” By the Lord’s blessing, the bin remained inexhaustible for years.
