નર્મદાકાંઠે અંબાવીમાં નીલકંઠવર્ણીને બાંટી-દૂધ ધરાવનાર કેશવદાસ-રાજબાઈ દંપતીને વર્ષો પછી વડતાલમાં શ્રીહરિએ સંભારી તેમના બે પુત્રોને સંતદીક્ષા આપી સત્સંગની મોટી સેવા લીધી.
પ્રભુ નીલકંઠવર્ણી સમગ્ર ભારતવર્ષમાં વનવિચરણ કરતાં કરતાં પાવન નર્મદા મૈયાના કાંઠે આવેલા નાનકડા અંબાવી ગામે સંધ્યાકાળે પધાર્યા. નર્મદા નદીના પવિત્ર નિર્મળ જળમાં સ્નાન કરી ગામની ભાગોળે આવેલા માતા અનસૂયા દેવીના મંદિરે વર્ણી દર્શનાર્થે પધાર્યા. એ સમયે ગામના પાટીદાર મુમુક્ષુ કેશવદાસે બાળયોગી નીલકંઠવર્ણીનાં દિવ્ય દર્શન કર્યાં. તેમનું અલૌકિક તેજ જોઈ અંતરમાં શાંતિ થઈ ગઈ અને મનમાં ભાવ થયો કે અનેક સાધુ-સન્યાસીઓ જોયા, પરંતુ આવી મનોહર અને મોહક મૂર્તિ ક્યારેય દીઠી નથી! કેશવદાસે દોડીને ‘નમો નારાયણ’ કહી પ્રણામ કર્યા અને વિનંતી કરી, “સાધુ મહારાજ! કંઈક ભિક્ષા લેશો?” વર્ણીએ વૃક્ષ નીચે બિરાજતાં કહ્યું, “અમે વસ્તીમાં જતા નથી; જો સીધું આપશો તો હાથે રસોઈ બનાવીને જમીશું.”
કેશવદાસ તરત ઘેર ગયા અને ધર્મપત્ની રાજબાઈને વાત કરી. રાજબાઈ પણ પૂર્વના મુમુક્ષુ હોવાથી ઘરની ગાયનું તાજું દૂધ, ઘઉંનો લોટ અને ઘી લઈને ઉત્સાહભેર દોડ્યાં. વર્ણીએ વૃક્ષ નીચે અગ્નિ પ્રગટાવી લોટની બાંટીઓ બનાવી અને દૂધ સાથે જમ્યા. દંપતીએ ભાવવિભોર થઈ નીલકંઠવર્ણીને બાંટી-દૂધ જમતાં નિહાળ્યા. ભોજન પછી વર્ણીએ ચળું કરી પ્રસાદીરૂપે બે બાંટી દંપતીને આપી અને તેમના ભાવથી રીઝાઈ અંબાવી ગામે સાત દિવસ રોકાણ કર્યું.
સમય જતાં કેશવદાસ અને રાજબાઈ અંબાવીથી શિનોર ગામે રહેવા ગયા અને નાની ખેતી કરીને જીવન નિર્વાહ કરતા હતા. ત્યાં સંતોના સંપર્કે તેઓ શ્રીજીમહારાજના પાકા સત્સંગી બન્યા. સંસારમાં તેમને ચાર પુત્રો થયા.
વર્ષો પછી વડતાલના જ્ઞાનબાગમાં શ્રીહરિએ ભવ્ય રંગોત્સવ યોજ્યો હતો. આ અલૌકિક ઉત્સવનો લાભ લેવા કેશવદાસ અને રાજબાઈ પોતાના ચારેય પુત્રો સાથે વડતાલ આવ્યા. રંગોત્સવ પછી જ્યારે સહુ દર્શન કરી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે શ્રીહરિએ રાજબાઈને જોઈને સ્નેહપૂર્વક પૂછ્યું, “રાજબાઈ! અમને ઓળખ્યા? અમે નીલકંઠવર્ણી રૂપે તમારા આંગણે અંબાવી ગામે આવેલા અને આઠ દિવસ રોકાયેલા ત્યારે તમે અમને ખૂબ દૂધ પાયેલું!” આ સાંભળતાં જ રાજબાઈને પૂર્વસ્મૃતિ તાજી થઈ ગઈ અને ગદ્ગદ થઈ બોલ્યા, “હે મહારાજ! એ વર્ણી સ્વરૂપ મને બરાબર યાદ છે! આપે અસીમ કૃપા કરી અમને શરણે લીધા!”
શ્રીહરિ રાજી થઈને બોલ્યા, “તમારે આ ચાર દીકરા છે, તેમાંથી બે અમને આપો અને બે તમે રાખો! બે તમારી સેવા કરશે અને બે સત્સંગની સેવા કરશે!” રાજબાઈએ અહોભાવથી ચારેય પુત્રોને પ્રભુ સમક્ષ ઊભા રાખી કહ્યું, “મહારાજ! જે ગમે તે તમારા!” શ્રીહરિએ ગીરધરભાઈ અને વાણારશીભાઈ બંનેના હાથ પકડી પોતાની પાસે રાખ્યા અને બાકીના બે પુત્રો સાથે દંપતી ઘેર ગયા. સમય જતાં શ્રીહરિએ ગીરધરભાઈને સાધુદીક્ષા આપી ‘ઇશ્વરાનંદ સ્વામી’ અને વાણારશીભાઈને ‘શ્રીનિવાસાનંદ સ્વામી’ નામ આપ્યું. પાછળથી પારિવારિક અનિવાર્ય સંજોગોને કારણે શ્રીહરિએ ગીરધરભાઈને ઘેર પરત મોકલ્યા, જ્યાં રહીને તેમણે શિનોર આસપાસના પંથકમાં બહોળો સત્સંગ પ્રચાર કર્યો.

अंबावी में केशवदास-राजबाई द्वारा नीलकंठवर्णी की बांटी-दूध सेवा और वडताल में दो पुत्रों का समर्पण
भगवान नीलकंठवर्णी भारत-भ्रमण करते हुए नर्मदा तट पर स्थित छोटे से गाँव अंबावी में संध्या समय पधारे। नर्मदा में स्नान कर गाँव के सीम पर बने माता अनसूया मंदिर में दर्शन किए। उस समय गाँव के पाटीदार मुमुक्षु केशवदास ने बालयोगी के अलौकिक तेज के दर्शन किए, जिससे उनका हृदय असीम शांति से भर गया। केशवदास ने पास आकर ‘नमो नारायण’ किया और प्रार्थना की, “महाराज! कुछ भिक्षा स्वीकार करेंगे?” वर्णी ने कहा, “हम बस्ती में नहीं जाते; यदि सीधा (कच्ची सामग्री) दें तो स्वयं बनाकर पा लेंगे।”
केशवदास ने घर जाकर पत्नी राजबाई को बताया। राजबाई तुरंत अपनी गाय का दूध, गेहूँ का आटा और घी लेकर आईं। नीलकंठवर्णी ने वृक्ष के नीचे अग्नि प्रज्वलित कर बांटी बनाई और दूध के साथ प्रेमपूर्वक आरोगी। प्रभु ने दो बांटी प्रसादी के रूप में दंपती को दी और उनके प्रेमवश होकर सात दिन अंबावी में वास किया।
कालांतर में केशवदास और राजबाई अंबावी से शिणोर गाँव आ बसे और खेती करने लगे। वहाँ संतों के समागम से वे स्वामिनारायण संप्रदाय के पक्के सत्संगी बने। उनके चार पुत्र हुए।
वर्षों बाद वडताल के ज्ञानबाग में श्रीहरि ने भव्य रंगोत्सव का आयोजन किया। केशवदास और राजबाई अपने चारों पुत्रों के साथ दर्शन हेतु पहुँचे। दर्शन के समय श्रीजी महाराज ने राजबाई से पूछा, “राजबाई! हमें पहचाना? हम नीलकंठवर्णी के वेष में अंबावी में तुम्हारे द्वार आए थे और कई दिन रहे, तब तुमने हमें खूब दूध पिलाया था!” यह सुनते ही राजबाई को पुरानी स्मृति सजीव हो उठी और वे भावविभोर हो उठीं।
श्रीहरि ने प्रसन्न होकर कहा, “तुम्हारे चार पुत्र हैं; दो हमें दे दो और दो तुम रखो! दो तुम्हारी सेवा करेंगे और दो सत्संग की सेवा करेंगे!” राजबाई ने सहर्ष चारों पुत्रों को प्रभु के चरणों में समर्पित कर दिया। श्रीहरि ने गीरधरभाई और वाणारशीभाई को अपने पास रखा। आगे चलकर श्रीहरि ने गीरधरभाई को ‘ईश्वरानंद स्वामी’ और वाणारशीभाई को ‘श्रीनिवासनंद स्वामी’ के रूप में संतदीक्षा प्रदान की। गीरधरभाई ने गृहस्थ जीवन में लौटकर भी शिणोर क्षेत्र में विशाल सत्संग प्रचार किया।

Keshavdas and Rajbai’s Bati-Milk Service to Nilkanth Varni in Ambavi and Dedication of Two Sons to Satsang in Vadtal
During His austere pilgrimage across India, young Nilkanth Varni arrived at the small village of Ambavi on the banks of the sacred Narmada River at twilight. After taking a holy bath in the river, Varni visited the shrine of Mata Anasuya at the village outskirts. Keshavdas, a devout Patidar resident of the village, caught sight of the divine Child Yogi. Mesmerized by the divine effulgence radiating from Nilkanth Varni, Keshavdas approached with deep reverence, greeted Him with ‘Namo Narayana’, and offered, “O holy ascetic! Will you accept some alms?” Nilkanth Varni replied, “We do not enter crowded settlements; if you provide raw grain and provisions, we shall cook and eat our meal.”
Keshavdas rushed home to inform his wife, Rajbai. Filled with spiritual yearning, Rajbai immediately brought fresh milk from their cow, wheat flour, and ghee. Under the shade of a tree, Nilkanth Varni prepared traditional batis (unleavened baked wheat cakes) over firewood and consumed them with milk. The blessed couple joyfully watched the Lord partake of the simple meal. Nilkanth Varni graciously gifted them two batis as consecrated prasad and, pleased by their devotion, resided in Ambavi for seven days.
Years passed, and Keshavdas and Rajbai moved to Shinor, where they lived as farmers and embraced Satsang under the guidance of visiting holy saints. In due course, they were blessed with four sons.
Later, Shreeji Maharaj celebrated an immense festival of colors in the Gnyanbag at Vadtal. Keshavdas, Rajbai, and their four sons traveled to Vadtal to partake in the divine festival. When the family came forward for darshan, Shrihari lovingly addressed Rajbai: “Rajbai! Do you recognize Me? When I wandered as Nilkanth Varni, I stayed at your home in Ambavi for days, and you lovingly served Me milk!” Instantly, the sweet memories rushed back into Rajbai’s heart, and she wept with gratitude.
Shrihari graciously said, “You have four sons; surrender two to Me and keep two for yourselves! Two shall attend to your worldly needs, and two shall serve the holy Satsang fellowship!” Overwhelmed with joy, Rajbai presented all four before the Lord. Shrihari held the hands of Girdharbhai and Vanarashibhai, retaining them, while the other two sons returned home. Shrihari later initiated Girdharbhai as Ishwaranand Swami and Vanarashibhai as Shriniwasanand Swami. Eventually, due to imperative domestic needs, Shrihari instructed Girdharbhai to return home, where he actively propagated Satsang throughout Shinor and neighboring villages.
