સાંખ્યનીના પ્યારેલાલ સુતાર અને શ્રીજી મહારાજ
એક સમયે હિન્દુસ્તાનમાં ગ્વાલિયર પરગણામાં ગામ ધોરેનગરમાં પ્યારેલાલ નામનો એક સારો સુતાર સત્સંગી હતો. તે પોતાના મામાના ગામ ‘સાંખ્યની’ જાતાં વચ્ચમાં એક ભારે બોરડીનું વૃક્ષ પાકી રહેલું હતું, તેના ઉપર તે બોરાં ખાવા ચડ્યો કે તરત જ ઉપરથી હેઠો પડ્યો, એટલે તેને બહુ વાગ્યું અને પગ પણ ઉતરી ગયો. ત્યારે તે રોતો રોતો શ્રીજી મહારાજને સંભારીને પ્રાર્થના કરવા લાગ્યો કે, હે મહારાજ ! આ ઝાડી અને પર્વતના વિકટ માર્ગમાં મારો પગ ઉતરી ગયો. અને જો હવે અહીં જ રાત પડી જાશે તો આ જંગલમાંથી વાઘ કે રીંછ વગેરે જંગલી પશુ આવશે ને મને મારી ને ફાડી ખાશે. માટે હે શ્રીજીમહારાજ, કૃપાનાથ મારી રક્ષા કરજયો. સાંજ પડવાનો વખત થયો છે અને હમણાં જ આ નદીમાં પાણી પીવા સારુ વાઘ આવશે, અહી તો આસપાસ માં કોઇ માણસ પણ નથી. મારું ગામ પણ અહીંથી સાતેક ગાઉ જેટલે છેટે રહી ગયું, તેમજ મારા મામાનું ગામ પણ ત્રણ ગાઉ છેટે છે. ને હવે મારાથી ચલાય તેમ પણ નથી. માટે હે સહજાનંદ સ્વામી ! હવે મારી શી વલે થાશે ? એવી રીતની દિનભાવે ઘણી ઘણી પ્રાર્થના કરતાં દિલગીર થઇ ગયો. એટલાકમાં તો શ્રીજી મહારાજ પોતાના ભક્તની આર્તનાદે પ્રાર્થના સાંભળીને એની રક્ષા કરવા માટે તત્કાળ ખરા વખતે ઉતાવળા થયા થકા પોતાની સાથે એક ઘોડો લઇને આવ્યા. આવીને તેને ઠપકો દઇને તેનો પગ ચડાવ્યો ને પછી પાટો બાંધીને તેને ઘોડા ઉપર બેસાડીને ત્યાંથી શ્રીહરિ એના સાથે ચાલ્યા, તે ગામ ‘સાંખ્યની’ આવી પ્યારેલાલ સુતારને એના મામાના આંગણામાં ઉતારી મુક્યો. અને કહ્યું જે, અમે મંદિરમાં જઇએ છીએ. આ બધા સમાચાર તું તારા મામાને કહેજે. એમ કહીને શ્રીહરિ મંદિરમાં ગયા. મંદિરમાં પહોંચી શ્રીહરિએ એક હરિભક્તને કહ્યું જે ‘અમે તરસ્યા છીએ માટે પાણીનો લોટો ભરી આવો’ એમ કહીને પછી પોતાના ઘોડાને મંદિરના થાંભલે બાંધ્યો અને પોતે જેર ઉપર બેઠા.
ત્યારે તે હરિભક્ત સદગુરુ મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીની કરેલી ‘વિવેક ચિંતામણી’ની ચોપડી વાંચતો હતો, તે અચાનક શ્રીજીમહારાજ પધાર્યા જાણીને એ ચોપડા વાંચતી પડતી મૂકીને પ્રેમનો ભર્યો ઊઠી ઊભો થઇને દર્શન કરીને પાણી લેવા ગયો. તે ઉતાવળો નદીમાંથી જળનો લોટો ભરી ને તુરંત જ લાવ્યો અને શ્રીજીમહારાજને પાણી પાઇને બોલ્યો જે, ‘હે મહારાજ’! તમે આમ અચાનક જ ક્યાંથી આવ્યા ? ત્યારે મહારાજે મંદ મંદ હસતા કહ્યું જે, હાલતો અમે અમારા ભકતનો સાદ સાંભળીને તો ‘ધોરેનગરથી’ આવ્યા, આ ઘોડાને માટે ઘાસ કે કાંય જોગાણ હોય તો લાવો. ત્યારે તે હરિભક્ત ઘાસ લેવા ગયો, એટલે પોતે અદ્રશ્ય થઇ ગયા. પછી તે હરિભક્ત ઘાસ લઇને આવીને જ્યાં જુવે છે ત્યાં તો કોઇ ન મળે. તેવું મહા આશ્ચર્ય જોઇને, આનંદ પામીને તે વાત સહુ હરિભક્તોને કહી. સહુ હરિભકત શ્રીહરિનો પ્રગટ પરચો પામીે અતિ આશ્ચર્ય ને પામ્યા.

सांख्यनी के प्यारेलाल सुतार और श्रीजी महाराज
एक समय हिंदुस्तान में ग्वालियर परगने के धोरेनगर गाँव में प्यारेलाल नाम का एक सुतार (बढ़ई) हरिभक्त रहता था। वह अपने मामा के गाँव ‘सांख्यनी’ जा रहा था। मार्ग में एक बेर का विशाल वृक्ष पके हुए बेरों से लदा हुआ था। वह बेर खाने के लिए पेड़ पर चढ़ा, परंतु अचानक ऊपर से नीचे गिर पड़ा। गिरने से उसे बहुत गहरी चोट आई और उसका पैर उतर (मोच खाकर विस्थापित) गया।
अत्यंत असहनीय वेदना के कारण वह रोते-रोते श्रीजी महाराज का स्मरण करते हुए प्रार्थना करने लगा, “हे महाराज! इस बीहड़ झाड़ी और पर्वत के विकट मार्ग में मेरा पैर उतर गया है। यदि यहीं रात्रि हो जाएगी, तो जंगल से बाघ, रीछ आदि हिंसक पशु आकर मुझे फाड़ खाएँगे। हे श्रीजी महाराज! हे कृपानाथ! मेरी रक्षा कीजिए। शाम होने को आई है और अभी इस नदी में पानी पीने बाघ आएगा। यहाँ आस-पास कोई मनुष्य भी नहीं है। मेरा अपना गाँव भी यहाँ से सात कोस दूर रह गया और मामा का गाँव भी तीन कोस दूर है। अब मुझसे एक कदम भी चला नहीं जाता। हे सहजानंद स्वामी! अब मेरी क्या दशा होगी?”
इस प्रकार दीनभाव से कातर होकर उसने आर्तनादपूर्वक प्रार्थना की। अपने भक्त की व्याकुल पुकार सुनकर कृपानिधान श्रीजी महाराज तुरंत ठीक समय पर उसकी रक्षा हेतु एक सुंदर घोड़ा लेकर प्रकट हुए। आकर महाराज ने उसे हल्का सा उलाहना देते हुए उसका पैर खींचकर ठीक किया, उस पर पट्टी बाँधी और उसे घोड़े पर बिठाकर स्वयं साथ-साथ चले।
श्रीहरि सांख्यनी गाँव पहुँचे और प्यारेलाल सुतार को उसके मामा के आँगन में सकुशल उतार दिया। महाराज ने कहा, “हम मंदिर जा रहे हैं; यह सारा वृत्तांत तुम अपने मामा को बता देना।” ऐसा कहकर श्रीहरि गाँव के मंदिर में पधारे।
मंदिर पहुँचकर श्रीहरि ने वहाँ उपस्थित एक हरिभक्त से कहा, “हमें बहुत प्यास लगी है, कृपया जल का लोटा भर लाइए।” फिर महाराज ने अपने घोड़े को मंदिर के खंभे से बाँध दिया और स्वयं ओटले पर बैठ गए।
उस समय वह हरिभक्त सद्गुरु मुक्तानंद स्वामी द्वारा रचित ‘विवेक चिंतामणि’ ग्रंथ का पाठ कर रहा था। अचानक साक्षात् श्रीजी महाराज को पधारे देखकर वह पाठ छोड़कर प्रेमविभोर होकर उठ खड़ा हुआ। दर्शन कर वह तुरंत नदी से शीतल जल का लोटा भर लाया। श्रीजी महाराज को जल अर्पण करने के बाद उसने हाथ जोड़कर पूछा, “हे महाराज! आप इस प्रकार अचानक कहाँ से पधारे?”
तब महाराज ने मंद-मंद मुस्कुराते हुए कहा, “अभी-अभी हम अपने एक भक्त की पुकार सुनकर धोरेनगर से आ रहे हैं। इस घोड़े के लिए कुछ घास या चारा हो तो लाइए।” जब वह हरिभक्त घास लेने भीतर गया, तब श्रीजी महाराज अंतर्धान हो गए। जब वह भक्त घास लेकर लौटा, तो वहाँ किसी को न पाकर विस्मित रह गया। इस महान आश्चर्य को देखकर वह आनंदित हो उठा और उसने यह पावन प्रसंग सभी हरिभक्तों को सुनाया। श्रीहरि का यह प्रत्यक्ष चमत्कार जानकर सभी भक्तगण असीम आश्चर्य और भावविभोरता में डूब गए।

Pyarelal Sutar of Sankhyani and Shriji Maharaj
At one time, in the village of Dhorenagar within the Gwalior province of northern India, there lived a devoted carpenter named Pyarelal. Once, while traveling to his maternal uncle’s village of ‘Sankhyani’, he noticed a large wild jujube (ber) tree laden with ripe fruit along the wayside. He climbed up the tree to pluck some sweet berries, but suddenly lost his footing and fell heavily to the ground. He was severely injured and dislocated his leg.
In unbearable pain and weeping bitterly, he remembered Shriji Maharaj and prayed with a desolate heart: “O Maharaj! In this dense wilderness and rugged mountainous terrain, my leg has been dislocated. If night descends upon me here, wild beasts such as tigers and bears will emerge from the forest and tear me to pieces. O Shriji Maharaj! O Krupanath! Please protect me! Evening is approaching, and predators will soon arrive at this river to drink water. There is not a soul anywhere in sight. My own village is seven gaus (about 14 miles) away, and my uncle’s village is still three gaus away. I cannot take even a single step. O Sahajanand Swami! What will become of me now?”
Hearing the heart-rending, distressed cry of His devotee, compassionate Shriji Maharaj instantly rushed to his aid at the crucial moment, appearing on horseback. Gently reproaching him for his recklessness, Maharaj reset his dislocated leg, bound it with a bandage, placed Pyarelal atop the horse, and walked alongside him.
Reaching the village of Sankhyani, Shri Hari safely helped Pyarelal dismount in the courtyard of his uncle’s home. Maharaj instructed him, “We are going to the temple. Narrate all these happenings to your uncle.” Saying this, Shri Hari proceeded to the village mandir.
Upon arriving at the mandir, Shri Hari said to a devotee present there, “We are very thirsty; please bring a pot of water.” Maharaj then tied His horse to a pillar of the temple and sat upon the raised platform.
At that moment, the devotee was reading ‘Vivek Chintamani’, a sacred scripture composed by Sadguru Muktanand Swami. Realizing that Shriji Maharaj had manifested in person, he set aside the scripture, stood up overwhelmed with devotional love, prostrated before Maharaj, and hurried to fetch water. He quickly brought a pot of cool river water, offered it to Shriji Maharaj to drink, and asked with folded hands, “O Maharaj! From where have You arrived so suddenly?”
Maharaj smiled gently and replied, “Just now, responding to the distressed call of Our devotee, We have arrived from Dhorenagar. If there is some grass or fodder for this horse, please bring it.” As soon as the devotee went inside to fetch grass, Shriji Maharaj vanished into thin air. When the devotee returned with the fodder, he found no one there! Beholding this divine miracle, filled with boundless wonder and joy, he shared the incident with all the devotees. Learning of this direct divine protection bestowed by Shri Hari, all the devotees were filled with immense reverence and awe.
