સ્વયંપ્રકાશાનંદ સ્વામીના પ્રશ્ન પર શ્રીહરિનું સમાધાન: સત્સંગદ્વેષી વિમુખ આગળ ખુમારી રાખવી અને ભગવાન તથા સંતો સન્મુખ સર્વ અહંકાર ત્યાગી દાસાનુદાસ બનવું.
સદ્ગુરુ શ્રીસ્વયંપ્રકાશાનંદ સ્વામીએ પંચાળા ગામમાં શ્રીજીમહારાજને ગંભીર પ્રશ્ન પૂછ્યો: “હે મહારાજ ! કયા ઠેકાણે માન (સ્વાભિમાન-ખુમારી) રાખવું સારું છે અને ક્યાં સારું નથી ? તેમજ કયા સ્થળે નિર્માનીપણું (નમ્રતા) સારું છે અને ક્યાં સારું નથી ?”
ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજે સાચા વિવેકનું રહસ્ય ખોલતાં ઉત્તર આપ્યો: “જે સત્સંગનો દ્રોહી હોય અને પરમેશ્વરનું તથા મોટા સંતોનું ઘસાતું (અપમાનજનક) બોલતો હોય, તેની આગળ તો માન-ખુમારી રાખવી તે જ શ્રેષ્ઠ છે! અને જ્યારે તે પ્રભુ કે સંતોનું ઘસાતું બોલે ત્યારે તેને તીખા તીર જેવાં વચનો મારીને તેનું અભિમાન તોડી પાડવું, પણ વિમુખ માણસ આગળ લેશમાત્ર નિર્માની કે દિન-લાચાર થવું નહીં; એ જ રૂડું છે.
અને ભગવાન તથા ભગવાનના સંતો-હરિભક્તોની આગળ જે માન કે અહંકાર રાખવો તે લેશમાત્ર સારો નથી! તેમની આગળ તો સર્વ માન-અહંકારને મૂળમાંથી છોડી દઈને, કેવળ દાસાનુદાસ થઈને નિર્માનીપણે વર્તવું તે જ પરમ કલ્યાણકારી છે.”
શ્રીહરિએ આ વચનામૃત દ્વારા શીખવ્યું કે ભક્તમાં પોતાના ઇષ્ટદેવ અને સત્સંગના ગૌરવની સિંહ જેવી ખુમારી હોવી જોઈએ, જ્યારે પ્રભુ અને સંતોના ચરણોમાં પરમ નમ્રતા અને દાસત્વ હોવું જોઈએ.

वचनामृत पंचाला ५: मान और निरभिमानी भाव का विवेक, विमुख के सम्मुख खुमारी और संत के सम्मुख दासभाव
सद्गुरु श्रीस्वयंप्रकाशानंद स्वामी ने पंचाला में श्रीजीमहाराज से प्रश्न किया: “हे महाराज ! किस स्थान पर मान (स्वाभिमान) रखना उचित है और कहां अनुचित ? तथा किस स्थान पर निरभिमानी (नम्र) होना श्रेष्ठ है और कहां नहीं ?”
श्रीजीमहाराज ने अत्यंत सुंदर समाधान दिया: “जो सत्संग का द्रोही हो तथा परमात्मा व संतों की निंदा करता हो, उसके सम्मुख मान और खुमारी रखना ही उत्तम है! जब वह संतों का अपमान करे, तब उसे तीक्ष्ण बाण जैसे वचनों से परास्त करना चाहिए, विमुख के सम्मुख दीन-हीन या नम्र कदापि नहीं होना चाहिए।
किंतु भगवान और भगवान के संतों के सम्मुख मान या अहंकार रखना सर्वथा विनाशकारी है! उनके सम्मुख तो अपने समस्त अहंकार को त्यागकर, दासों का दास (दासानुदास) बनकर परम नम्रता से सेवा करना ही आत्म-कल्याण का सच्चा मार्ग है।”

Vachanamrut Panchala 5: Discretion in Pride and Humility, Spiritual Fortitude against Detractors
In the village of Panchala, Sadguru Swayamprakashanand Swami posed a penetrating spiritual inquiry to Shreeji Maharaj: “O Maharaj! In which context is pride (or righteous boldness) commendable, and where is it detrimental? Likewise, where is humility appropriate, and where is it improper?”
Shreeji Maharaj elucidated the profound principle of spiritual discretion: “Before a hostile antagonist of Satsang who malicious insults God and exalted saints, maintaining righteous pride and fearless fortitude is alone commendable! When such a person slanders God or His saints, one should pierce their arrogance with sharp, truthful words like arrows; one must never act meek, timid, or subservient before an antagonist!
However, before God and the holy saints and devotees of God, harboring even the slightest pride or ego is utterly detrimental! In their holy presence, one must completely uproot all egotism, cultivate utter humility, and conduct oneself as the humblest servant of servants (dasanudas)—that alone is supremely auspicious for the soul.”
Through this discourse, Shreehari imparted that a devotee must display the fierce courage of a lion to defend the sanctity of the Satsang, while maintaining childlike meekness and absolute surrender at the feet of God and His saints.
