ભુજમાં જીવરાજ શેઠના ડેલામાં મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીની કથા વખતે ભાઈઓ-બહેનોની મિશ્ર સભા જોઈ શ્રીહરિએ ત્યાગી ધર્મની રક્ષા કાજે સંતોને મંદિરે પાછા તેડાવ્યાનું ચરિત્ર.
ભુજનગરમાં શ્રીહરિના અનન્ય ભક્ત જીવરાજ શેઠનો વિશાળ ડેલો હતો, જે મંદિરની લગોલગ આવેલો હતો. એક સમયે સદ્ગુરુ શ્રીમુક્તાનંદ સ્વામી તે ડેલામાં પધારીને પ્રેમપૂર્વક કથાવાર્તા કરી રહ્યા હતા. કથા સાંભળવા માટે નગરના બાઈઓ અને ભાઈઓ ભેગાં મળીને બેઠાં હતાં, જેથી ત્યાગી અને ગૃહસ્થોની એક મોટી મિશ્ર સભા ભરાઈ હતી.
શ્રીજીમહારાજે જ્યારે આ દ્રશ્ય જોયું ત્યારે ત્યાગીઓના આઠ પ્રકારના સ્ત્રી-ત્યાગના ધર્મની રક્ષા કરવા સારું ઊંચા સ્વરે સાદ કર્યો: “સંતો ! ચાલો મંદિર માંહી ફરી, સંભળાવીશ હું કથા કરી..! બાઈ ભાઈ મળે એક ઠાર, નહિ ત્યાગીનો ધર્મ લગાર..!!”
શ્રીહરિએ સ્પષ્ટ આજ્ઞા કરી કે જ્યાં સ્ત્રી અને પુરુષ ભેગાં બેઠાં હોય ત્યાં ત્યાગી સાધુઓથી કથાવાર્તા ન કરાય; એ ત્યાગીના ધર્મથી વિરુદ્ધ છે. એમ કહી મહારાજ પોતે મંદિર તરફ ચાલ્યા અને સર્વે સાધુઓ પણ તુરંત આજ્ઞા પાળીને ઊભા થઈ ગયા.
મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીએ ત્યાં બેઠેલી સ્ત્રીઓને સંબોધીને કહ્યું: “માતાઓ-બહેનો ! હવે અમારા છેલ્લા રામ રામ! આ નીલકંઠ વર્ણી જેવી આજ્ઞા કરશે તેમ જ અમારે કરવું પડશે!” એમ કહી સ્વામી પણ મંદિર તરફ પ્રયાણ કરી ગયા. શ્રીહરિએ આ લીલા દ્વારા સ્વામિનારાયણ સંપ્રદાયમાં ત્યાગીઓની નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચર્ય મર્યાદાનું કડક અને અવિચળ સ્થાપન કર્યું.

भुजनगर में मंदिर के समीप भक्त जीवराज सेठ की विशाल ड्योढ़ी थी। एक दिन सद्गुरु श्रीमुक्तानंद स्वामी वहां बैठकर भावविभोर होकर कथा कह रहे थे। कथा श्रवण हेतु स्त्री-पुरुष दोनों एक ही स्थान पर एकत्रित होकर बैठे थे, जिससे एक मिश्रित सभा बन गई थी।
जब श्रीजीमहाराज ने यह देखा, तब त्यागी साधुओं के नैष्ठिक ब्रह्मचर्य धर्म की रक्षा हेतु उच्च स्वर में पुकार की: “संतो ! मंदिर में पुनः लौट चलो, मैं स्वयं तुम्हें कथा सुनाऊंगा! जहां स्त्री और पुरुष एक साथ बैठे हों, वहां बैठना त्यागी का धर्म लेशमात्र भी नहीं है!”
ऐसा कहकर प्रभु स्वयं मंदिर की ओर चल पड़े। स्वामी की आज्ञा पाकर सभी साधु तुरंत उठ खड़े हुए। मुक्तानंद स्वामी ने उपस्थित महिलाओं से कहा: “माताओं-बहनों ! अब हमारा अंतिम राम-राम! ये नीलकंठ वर्णी जैसा आदेश देंगे, हमें वैसा ही पालन करना होगा!” ऐसा कहकर स्वामी भी मंदिर लौट गए। प्रभु ने इस लीला द्वारा साधु समाज में मर्यादा की सुदृढ़ नींव रखी।

Jivraj Sheth’s Porch in Bhuj: Muktanand Swami’s Assembly and the Purity of Monastic Dharma
In the city of Bhuj, adjacent to the mandir stood the spacious courtyard porch of devotee Jivraj Sheth. On one occasion, Sadguru Muktanand Swami was seated there delivering spiritual discourses with great joy. To listen to the katha, both men and women devotees of the town had gathered together, forming a mixed assembly of householders and renunciants.
Observing this gathering, Shreeji Maharaj called out with spiritual authority to protect the absolute vow of celibacy (naishthik brahmacharya) expected of ascetics: “Sadhus! Return to the mandir premises at once, and I shall personally narrate katha to you! Where men and women sit together in one place, it is utterly contrary to the strict dharma of a renunciant!”
Stating this, Shreehari turned and walked towards the mandir, and every sadhu immediately rose to obey His command. Muktanand Swami respectfully addressed the assembled women: “Sisters and mothers! Accept our final Ram Ram! Whatever divine disciplines this Nilkanth Varni institutes, we must strictly and wholeheartedly obey!” Saying this, Swami followed Maharaj into the mandir. Through this firm instruction, Shreehari established the uncompromising bedrock of monastic purity in the fellowship.
