ગાધડકાના દરજી ભક્ત ગોવિંદ મેરાઈની અડગ સત્સંગ ખુમારી, ગામજનોના ઉપહાસ સામે આપેલું અલૌકિક ઉત્તર અને શ્રીહરિની સામર્થીથી નિર્ભયતાનું ચરિત્ર.
ગામ ગાધડકામાં ગોવિંદ મેરાઈ નામે શ્રીજીમહારાજના એક અનન્ય અને પરમ નિષ્ઠાવાન દરજી ભક્ત રહેતા હતા. તેઓ દરજીકામ કરીને સાદાઈથી પોતાનું અને પરિવારનું ગુજરાન ચલાવતા હતા. તેમણે જ્યારે ભગવાન શ્રીસ્વામિનારાયણનો આશરો કર્યો, ત્યારે ગામના કેટલાક અસત્સંગી લોકો તેમની અવારનવાર ટીખળ અને મશ્કરી કરતા.
એક દિવસ ગામના કેટલાક ટીખળખોરોએ ગોવિંદ મેરાઈને પૂછ્યું, “અલ્યા ગોવિંદ ! તું આખો દિવસ ‘સ્વામિનારાયણ… સ્વામિનારાયણ…’ જપ્યા કરે છે, તો શું તને તારું કલ્યાણ થઈ ગયું હોય તેમ લાગે છે ? અમથો અમથો શું મંડી પડ્યો છે ?”
આ શબ્દો સાંભળતાં જ ગોવિંદ મેરાઈના અંગઅંગમાં સત્સંગની પરમ ખુમારી પ્રગટી ઊઠી. તેમણે ગર્જના કરતાં ઉત્તર આપ્યો: “અરે ભાઈઓ ! તમે મારા એકલાના કલ્યાણની ક્યાં વાત કરો છો ? મારા હાથનું સીવેલું વસ્ત્ર જે માણસ પહેરશે અને મારા ઘરના ગોળાનું પાણી જે પીશે, તેનુંય ભગવાન સ્વામિનારાયણ કલ્યાણ કરશે! પછી મારા કલ્યાણમાં તો પૂછવું જ શું હોય ?”
ભક્તની આવી અડગ ખુમારી અને પ્રગટ પ્રભુના સ્વરૂપની સર્વોપરી નિષ્ઠા જોઈને મશ્કરી કરનારા લોકો ચૂપ થઈ ગયા. પ્રભુના સાચા આશરાવાળા ભક્તોને સંસારનો કોઈ ભય કે સંશય સ્પર્શી શકતો નથી.
અંગ ખુમારી ન ઊતરે, શ્રીહરિની સામર્થી જોઈ..! નરનારી નિર્ભય રહે, મન ભય ન પામે કોઈ..!! દેહ છતાં દુખિયા નહીં, મુવા પછી જાવું બ્રહ્મમો’લ..! પેખી પ્રતાપ એ નાથનો, તેણે અંત્રે સુખ અતોલ…!!

गाधडका के गोविंद मेराई की सत्संग खुमारी, सिले वस्त्र और मटके का जल
गाधडका गांव में गोविंद मेराई नामक श्रीजीमहाराज के अनन्य दर्जी भक्त रहते थे। वे सिलाई का कार्य करके सात्विक जीवन जीते थे। जब उन्होंने स्वामिनारायण सत्संग स्वीकार किया, तब गांव के कुछ लोग उनका उपहास करते थे।
एक दिन कुछ ग्रामीणों ने व्यंग्य करते हुए पूछा, “अरे गोविंद ! तू दिन-रात ‘स्वामिनारायण… स्वामिनारायण…’ रटता रहता है, क्या तुझे लगता है कि तेरा मोक्ष हो जाएगा ? व्यर्थ ही क्यों लगा है ?”
यह सुनते ही गोविंद मेराई में सत्संग की अपार खुमारी जाग उठी। उन्होंने निर्भीक स्वर में कहा: “अरे भाइयों ! तुम केवल मेरे मोक्ष की क्या बात करते हो ? मेरे हाथों का सिला हुआ वस्त्र जो पहनेगा और मेरे घर के मटके का जल जो पिएगा, भगवान स्वामिनारायण उसका भी कल्याण कर देंगे! फिर मेरे मोक्ष में क्या कोई संशय हो सकता है ?”
उनकी ऐसी अलौकिक निष्ठा और खुमारी देखकर उपहास करने वाले लज्जित होकर शांत हो गए।
अंग खुमारी न उतरे, श्रीहरि की सामर्थी देख…! नर-नारी निर्भय रहें, मन भय न पावे कोई..!! देह छतां दुखिया नहीं, मुआ पछे जावुं ब्रह्म-मोल…! पेखी प्रताप ए नाथनो, तेणे अंतरे सुख अतोल…!!

Govind Merai of Gadhdaka: Unmatched Spiritual Conviction, Stitched Clothes, and Pot Water
In the village of Gadhdaka lived Govind Merai, a tailor and an exceptionally staunch devotee of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Earning a modest living through his tailoring work, he lived a life of spotless integrity. Ever since he accepted the Swaminarayan faith, skeptical villagers frequently mocked and ridiculed him.
One day, some village skeptics taunted him, saying, “Hey Govind! You spend day and night chanting ‘Swaminarayan… Swaminarayan…’ Do you really think you have secured your salvation? Why are you wasting your time?”
Hearing these mocking remarks, righteous pride and divine conviction surged through Govind Merai’s soul. He retorted boldly with towering spiritual authority: “Brothers! Why speak of my salvation alone? Whoever wears the garments stitched by my hands and whoever drinks a sip of water from the clay pot in my house—Bhagwan Swaminarayan will liberate them as well! What doubt could there possibly be regarding my own liberation?”
Witnessing his unshakable conviction in the omnipotent grace of the Supreme Lord, the skeptics were completely silenced and retreated in embarrassment.
