ગઢપુરમાં શ્રીહરિએ ગંગારામ મલ્લને શીખવેલો પેચ, પંજાબી મલ્લ પર વિજય, જગજીવન મહેતાના દ્વેષ સામે ગંગારામની શૂરવીરતા અને ભુજમાં નરનારાયણ દેવની પ્રતિષ્ઠા.
ગઢપુરમાં એક સમયે શ્રીજીમહારાજે દરબારગઢમાં ભુજના શૂરવીર ભક્તરાજ ગંગારામ મલ્લને કુસ્તીનો ખાસ દાવપેચ શીખવતાં કહ્યું હતું: “ગંગારામ ! ભુજમાં એક મહાકાય પંજાબી મલ્લ આવશે, જે તાંત્રિક દોરો ગળે બાંધે છે અને કોઈના કાબૂમાં આવતો નથી. જ્યારે તેની સાથે યુદ્ધ થાય ત્યારે તેના ગળામાંથી હાથ છોડાવી ગળાનો દોરો પકડીને ફેંકી દેજો, એટલે તે પરાજિત થશે.” ભુજના દરબારમાં મહારાવ સમક્ષ જ્યારે તે દંગલ થયું, ત્યારે ગંગારામ મલ્લે શ્રીહરિના સ્મરણ સાથે તે પંજાબી મલ્લને પછાડીને અદ્ભુત વિજય મેળવ્યો અને મહારાવે તેમને આજીવન વર્ષાસન બાંધી આપ્યું!
ત્યારબાદ શ્રીજીમહારાજ ભુજ પધાર્યા ત્યારે સુતાર હીરજીભાઈ અને સુંદરજીભાઈને ઘેર બિરાજતા હતા. ભુજનો સત્સંગદ્વેષી દીવાન જગજીવન મહેતો ત્યાં આવ્યો અને સુંદરજીભાઈને ધમકાવવા લાગ્યો. તે વખતે ગંગારામ મલ્લ દોડતા આવ્યા અને ગર્જના કરી: “મહારાજ ! અમે સો-સો માણસો સામે લડવા સમર્થ છીએ, આપ નિર્ભય થઈ અમારા ઘેર પધારો!”
શ્રીહરિએ જગજીવન મહેતાના પત્ની (જેઓ અતિ ભક્તમતી હતાં) પાસેથી ખુદ જગજીવનનો શણગારેલો સિગરામ (રથ) મંગાવ્યો! શ્રીજીમહારાજ તે સિગરામમાં બિરાજ્યા અને સો જેટલા શૂરવીર મલ્લો ઉઘાડી તલવારો સાથે રક્ષણ કરતા અને સ્વામિનારાયણ મહામંત્રની ધૂન બોલાવતા જગજીવનની હવેલી સામેથી પસાર થયા! જગજીવન પોતાની અગાસી પરથી આ દ્રશ્ય જોઈને કાંપવા લાગ્યો અને સમજી ગયો કે સ્વામિનારાયણ ભગવાન સામે કોઈનું જોર ચાલે તેમ નથી.
ત્યારબાદ ગંગારામ મલ્લ, સુંદરજીભાઈ અને હીરજીભાઈની નમ્ર વિનંતીથી શ્રીજીમહારાજે સદ્ગુરુ ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામી અને વૈષ્ણવાનંદ સ્વામીને મોકલી ભુજમાં ભવ્ય શિખરબદ્ધ મંદિરનું નિર્માણ કરાવ્યું. સંવત ૧૮૭૯ના વૈશાખ સુદ પાંચમ (૧૩ મે ૧૮૨૩)ના શુભ દિને શ્રીહરિએ સ્વહસ્તે શ્રી નરનારાયણ દેવની મૂર્તિપ્રતિષ્ઠા કરી!
સદ્ગુરુ નિષ્કુળાનંદ સ્વામીએ શ્રીભક્તચિંતામણીના પ્રકરણ ૧૧૬ની કડી ૭૧માં ગંગારામ મલ્લની શૂરવીરતાનું ગાન કર્યું છે: ધન્ય ધન્ય જેઠી ગંગારામ, ભક્ત શિરોમણી નિષ્કામ..! સુત શામજી મૂળજીભાઈ, એહ આદિ જન જેઠીમાંઈ..!!

भुज में गंगाराम मल्ल का मल्ल-युद्ध, जगजीवन मेहता के विरुद्ध श्रीहरि का पक्ष और नरनारायण मंदिर
गढपुर में श्रीजीमहाराज ने भुज के भक्त गंगाराम मल्ल को मल्लयुद्ध का गुप्त दांव सिखाते हुए कहा था कि भुज में एक बलशाली पंजाबी मल्ल आएगा, उसके गले का तांत्रिक डोरा तोड़ते ही वह परास्त हो जाएगा। भुज में राव के समक्ष हुए दंगल में गंगाराम ने प्रभु का ध्यान कर उस मल्ल को धूल चटा दी और आजीवन वृत्ति प्राप्त की।
कालांतर में जब महाराज भुज पधारे, तब विरोधी दीवान जगजीवन मेहता ने भक्तों को प्रताड़ित करने का प्रयास किया। तब गंगाराम मल्ल ने सिंहनाद किया, “प्रभु ! हमारे रहते कोई आपका बाल भी बांका नहीं कर सकता, आप हमारे घर पधारें!”
प्रभु ने जगजीवन की सत्संगी पत्नी से उसी का सुसज्जित रथ मंगवाया और सौ सशस्त्र मल्ल-वीरों के पहरे में जगजीवन की हवेली के सामने से जयघोष करते हुए निकले! जगजीवन यह देखकर भयभीत हो गया।
बाद में गंगाराम मल्ल व अन्य भक्तों की प्रार्थना पर प्रभु ने सद्गुरु गोपालनंद स्वामी द्वारा भुज में भव्य मंदिर निर्माण करवाकर संवत १८७९ वैशाख शुक्ल पंचमी को साक्षात नरनारायण देव की प्रतिष्ठा की! ‘श्रीभक्तचिंतामणि’ में गंगाराम मल्ल का विशेष गुणगान किया गया है।

Gangaram Mall’s Wrestling Triumph in Bhuj, Facing Minister Jagjivan, and the Historic Bhuj Mandir
In Gadhada, Shreeji Maharaj once imparted a secret wrestling maneuver to Gangaram Mall of Bhuj, foretelling: “A gargantuan Punjabi wrestler wearing an occult protective amulet will arrive in Bhuj. During the bout, break his grip from your neck and snap that amulet; he will instantly fall.” When the royal match took place in the court of the Maharao of Bhuj, Gangaram invoked Shreehari’s name, severed the amulet, and achieved a stunning victory, earning a permanent royal annuity!
Later, when Shreehari graced Bhuj, the hostile chief minister Jagjivan Mehta arrived to intimidate devotee Sunderji Suthar. Learning of this, Gangaram Mall rushed forward and thundered: “Maharaj! Each of us is equal to a hundred men in battle; pray grace our home fearlessly!”
Remarkably, Shreehari requisitioned Jagjivan Mehta’s own personal carriage from his devout wife! Seated majestically inside Jagjivan’s carriage, escorted by a hundred mighty wrestlers wielding unsheathed swords and chanting the holy name of Swaminarayan, Shreehari rode straight past Jagjivan’s mansion! Looking down from his balcony, Jagjivan trembled in helpless awe.
Subsequently, upon the heartfelt prayers of Gangaram Mall, Sunderjibhai, and Hirji, Shreehari dispatched Sadguru Gopalanand Swami and Vaishnavanand Swami to erect the magnificent Bhuj Shikharbaddha Mandir. On Vaishakh Sud 5, Samvat 1879 (13 May 1823), Shreehari personally consecrated the divine murtis of Shree Nar-Narayan Dev! Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami immortalized Gangaram Mall’s fearless devotion in Chapter 116 of the ‘Shree Bhaktachintamani’.
