પીપલાણામાં વર્ણીવેષી શ્રીહરિએ રામાનંદ સ્વામીને પોતાના સ્વરૂપ વિશે પૂછેલો પ્રશ્ન, મુસ્લિમ જમાદારને થયેલી અક્ષરધામની સમાધિ અને રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ પ્રગટ કરેલું સર્વોપરી સત્ય.
પીપલાણા ગામે નીલકંઠ વર્ણી અને સદ્ગુરુ શ્રીરામાનંદ સ્વામીનું મિલન થયું ત્યારે વર્ણી અનેક આધ્યાત્મિક પ્રશ્નો પૂછતા અને રામાનંદ સ્વામી ઉત્તર આપતા. એક અવસરે શ્રીહરિએ સ્વામીને ગંભીર પ્રશ્ન પૂછ્યો: “સ્વામી ! આપ અનાદિ સનાતન ઈશ્વર છો, કે પરમેશ્વરના આજ્ઞાકારી ભક્ત છો ?”
આ સાંભળી રામાનંદ સ્વામી મુખ ફેરવી બીજા હરિભક્તો સાથે વાત કરવા લાગ્યા. વર્ણીએ ફરી સામું જોઈ તે જ પ્રશ્ન પૂછ્યો ત્યારે પણ સ્વામી મૌન રહ્યા. જ્યારે વર્ણીએ ત્રીજી વાર પ્રશ્ન દોહરાવ્યો ત્યારે સ્વામી કાંઈક બહાનું કાઢીને ઊભા થઈ ગયા અને થોડીવાર પછી આવીને આસન પર બિરાજ્યા.
એટલામાં ગામનો એક મુસ્લિમ જમાદાર સભામાં આવીને બેઠો. રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ કૃપાદ્રષ્ટિ કરીને તે જમાદારને તુરંત અલૌકિક સમાધિ કરાવી! સમાધિમાં જમાદારે પરમ દિવ્ય અક્ષરધામ જોયું. ત્યાં પરબ્રહ્મ અલ્લાહના સ્થાને દિવ્ય સિંહાસન પર ઘનશ્યામ નીલકંઠ વર્ણીને વિરાજમાન દીઠા! અને રામાનંદ સ્વામી તો ખુદાના અનેક દાસો સાથે એક બાજુ હાથ જોડીને ઊભેલા દેખાયા!
સમાધિમાંથી જાગ્યા પછી જમાદાર મોટેથી પોકારી ઊઠ્યો: “અરે હિંદુઓ ! આ તમારી કેવી વિચિત્ર રીત છે ? મુર્શિદ (ગુરુ રામાનંદ) તો ઊંચા આસને બેઠા છે અને સાક્ષાત્ ખુદા-અલ્લાહ (નીલકંઠ વર્ણી) નીચે ભોંય પર બેઠા છે!”
ત્યારે સદ્ગુરુ રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ હસીને રહસ્ય ખોલતાં કહ્યું: “જમાદાર ! એ જ અમારી અસલ સનાતન રીત છે! ત્રેતાયુગમાં ગુરુ વસિષ્ઠ મુનિ ઊંચા આસને બેસતા અને સાક્ષાત્ પરમેશ્વર શ્રીરામચંદ્રજી નીચે નમ્રભાવે બેસતા! આ નીલકંઠ વર્ણી જ સાક્ષાત્ સર્વાવતારી પરબ્રહ્મ પુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણ છે અને અમે તો તેમના દાસાનુદાસ છીએ!” આમ, રામાનંદ સ્વામીએ સર્વ સમક્ષ શ્રીહરિનું સર્વોપરી પરબ્રહ્મ સ્વરૂપ પ્રગટ કર્યું.

पिपलाणा में नीलकंठ वर्णी का रामानंद स्वामी से प्रश्न, जमादार की समाधि और वशिष्ठ-राम का दृष्टांत
पिपलाणा में जब नीलकंठ वर्णी और सद्गुरु श्रीरामानंद स्वामी का मिलन हुआ, तब वर्णी विविध आध्यात्मिक प्रश्न पूछते थे और स्वामीजी समाधान करते थे। एक दिन वर्णी ने सीधा प्रश्न किया: “स्वामीजी ! क्या आप साक्षात सनातन ईश्वर हैं, अथवा भगवान के आज्ञाकारी सेवक हैं ?”
यह सुनकर रामानंद स्वामी ने मुख फेरकर अन्य भक्तों से बात आरंभ कर दी। वर्णी ने दूसरी बार वही प्रश्न पूछा तो स्वामीजी मौन रहे। जब तीसरी बार पूछा गया, तो स्वामीजी किसी बहाने से उठकर चले गए और पुनः आकर आसनस्थ हुए।
तभी एक मुस्लिम जमादार सभा में आया। स्वामीजी ने उस पर कृपा-दृष्टि डाली और उसे दिव्य समाधि हो गई। समाधि में जमादार ने परमधाम में साक्षात अल्लाह के रूप में दिव्य सिंहासन पर नीलकंठ वर्णी (घनश्याम) को विराजमान देखा! और रामानंद स्वामी को अन्य भक्तों सहित एक ओर हाथ जोड़े खड़े देखा।
समाधि से लौटते ही जमादार विस्मय से चिल्ला उठा: “यह हिंदुओं की कैसी उलटी रीति है ? मुर्शिद (गुरु रामानंद) तो ऊंचे आसन पर बैठे हैं और साक्षात खुदा (नीलकंठ) नीचे फर्श पर बैठे हैं!”
तब रामानंद स्वामी ने गंभीर वाणी में रहस्य उद्घाटित किया: “जमादार ! यही हमारी सनातन परंपरा है। त्रेता में महर्षि वशिष्ठ ऊंचे आसन पर विराजते थे और साक्षात प्रभु श्रीराम नीचे बैठते थे! ये नीलकंठ वर्णी ही साक्षात परब्रह्म पुरुषोत्तम नारायण हैं, और हम तो इनके सेवक हैं।” इस प्रकार स्वामीजी ने प्रभु की सर्वोच्च दिव्यता प्रमाणित की।

Nilkanth Varni’s Question to Ramanand Swami, the Jamadar’s Samadhi, and the Vashishta-Ram Analogy
At Piplana, during the holy communion between Nilkanth Varni and Sadguru Ramanand Swami, Varni would inquire on spiritual truths and Ramanand Swami would elucidate them. On one momentous occasion, Varni asked a profound, direct question: “Swami! Are you the eternal, supreme Ishwar, or are you an obedient servant of the Supreme Lord?”
Hearing this, Ramanand Swami averted his gaze and spoke to another devotee. When Varni repeated the inquiry a second time, Swami remained silent. Upon being asked a third time, Swami made a polite excuse, briefly walked away, and returned to his seat.
Just then, a local Muslim officer (Jamadar) entered the assembly. With a merciful glance, Ramanand Swami instantly cast him into transcendental samadhi. In that divine vision, the Jamadar witnessed the supreme realm of Akshardham. There, enthroned upon the highest celestial throne as Allah the Supreme Lord, sat young Nilkanth Varni (Ghanshyam)! Meanwhile, Ramanand Swami stood humbly on one side with folded hands among the devoted servants of the Almighty!
Emerging from samadhi, the Jamadar exclaimed aloud in utter disbelief: “What upside-down custom is this among Hindus? The spiritual teacher (Murshid Ramanand) is seated exalted upon a high seat, while Allah Himself (Nilkanth Varni) sits humbly on the floor below!”
Ramanand Swami smiled and unveiled the eternal truth: “Jamadar! That is our ancient eternal Vedic tradition! In Treta Yuga, Sage Vashishta sat on the high preceptor’s seat while Bhagwan Shri Ramachandra sat reverently below! This Nilkanth Varni is none other than the Supreme Parabrahman Purushottam Narayan Himself, and we are merely His humble servants!” Thus, Ramanand Swami openly proclaimed the supreme status of Shreehari.
