લોધિકા દરબાર મુક્તરાજ અભેસિંહજીનું અદ્ભુત અક્ષરધામગમન, રાજકોટ મંદિર માટે દાન, મધરાતે શ્રીહરિનું દિવ્ય રથમાં પધારવું અને પોલીસ થાણેદારે નજરે જોયેલી પ્રત્યક્ષ સાક્ષી.
ગામ લોધિકાના દરબાર મુક્તરાજ શ્રીઅભેસિંહજી માંદા હતા. તેમની તબિયત જોવા સારું જૂનાગઢથી જોગી સદ્ગુરુ શ્રીમહાપુરુષદાસજી સ્વામી પોતાનું સંતમંડળ લઈને લોધિકા પધાર્યા. મંદિરે ઉતારો કરીને દરબારશ્રી પાસે જઈ ‘જય સ્વામિનારાયણ’ કર્યા અને બે ઘડી બેસી ભગવાનના મહિમાની બળભરી વાતો કરી.
ત્યારે દરબાર અભેસિંહજી હાથ જોડીને બોલ્યા, “સ્વામી ! મારે એક સંકલ્પ છે. આ દેહનો કાંઈ ભરોસો નથી, માટે મેં રાજકોટની વાડીમાં છત્રી કરાવીને બંગલો બનાવ્યો છે, તે વાડી પાસે મંદિર સારું વધારે જગ્યા લેવી છે. તે માટે મેં છ હજાર રૂપિયા ખર્ચવાનો સંકલ્પ કર્યો છે. તેમાંથી પાંચ હજાર રૂપિયાની મંદિર માટે જગ્યા લેવી ને એક હજાર રૂપિયાનો વંડો કરાવવો.” સ્વામીએ કહ્યું, “દરબાર ! એ સંકલ્પ બહુ ઉત્તમ છે.” દરબારશ્રીએ તુરંત જ રાજકોટના કોઠારી ડાહ્યાભાઈને બોલાવી છ હજાર રૂપિયા સોંપ્યા. ડાહ્યાભાઈએ રાજકોટમાં પાંચ હજારની જમીન ખરીદી વંડો કરાવવાનું શરૂ કર્યું અને સ્વામીએ લોધિકા આવી દરબારને સમાચાર આપ્યા.
બે-ચાર દિવસ પછી દરબારશ્રીનો મંદવાડ વધ્યો. તેમને અંતરમાં જણાયું કે હવે દેહ છોડવાનો સમય નજીક છે. તેમણે બ્રાહ્મણોને સોના-રૂપાનાં દાન દીધાં અને ગામના ગોંદરે તમામ ગાયોને કપાસિયાનું ખાણ તથા લીલું ઘાસ નંખાવ્યું. ગામના મંદિરના પૂજારી ગોર લાલજી મહારાજને દરબારશ્રીએ કહ્યું, “આજ રાત્રિએ મારે દેહ મેલવો છે, માટે તમે મારી પાસે જ રહેજો.” પૂજારી લાલજી મહારાજ દરબારના ઓરડામાં તેમની પાસે જ સૂતા.
અડધી રાત થઈ ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજ દિવ્ય રથ અને વિમાનો લઈને દરબાર અભેસિંહજીને તેડવા પધાર્યા! તે વખતે ગામ બહાર પોલીસ થાણામાં ફરજ બજાવતા થાણેદાર બહાર નીકળ્યા હતા. તેમણે મધરાતે આકાશમાર્ગે અને પૃથ્વી પર રથનો દિવ્ય ઘુઘરા-ઝણકાર સાંભળ્યો. થાણેદારે આશ્ચર્ય પામી પૂછ્યું, “આટલી મધરાતે આ કોનો રથ જાય છે ?” ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજે મધુર હાસ્ય કરતાં દર્શન દઈ કહ્યું, “અમે સ્વામિનારાયણ ભગવાન છીએ અને અમારા પરમભક્ત દરબાર અભેસિંહજીને તેડવા જઈએ છીએ!” આ સાંભળી થાણેદાર અવાચક થઈ સ્તબ્ધ બની ગયા.
શ્રીજીમહારાજ દરબારગઢમાં પધાર્યા. ઢોલિયામાં સૂતેલા દરબારશ્રીને મહારાજ, ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામી, નિત્યાનંદ સ્વામી, ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી અને દાદા ખાચર આદિક મુક્તોનાં પ્રત્યક્ષ દર્શન થયાં. તેઓ સફાળા બેઠા થઈ ગયા અને પલંગ પરથી નીચે ઊતરી સાષ્ટાંગ દંડવત્ કર્યા. પૂજારી લાલજી મહારાજને જગાડીને કહ્યું, “શ્રીજીમહારાજ અને સંતો મને તેડવા આવ્યા છે, તુરંત ગાયનું પવિત્ર છાણ લાવીને જમીન લીંપો.” લાલજી મહારાજે જમીન લીંપી આપી. દરબારશ્રી તે પવિત્ર ભૂમિ પર પદ્માસન વાળી બેસી ગયા અને સહુને કહ્યું, “હવે સહુ ‘સ્વામિનારાયણ… સ્વામિનારાયણ’ ભજન કરો.” ધૂન થતાં જ ક્ષણવારમાં દરબારશ્રીએ પંચભૌતિક દેહ ત્યાગી દિવ્ય સ્વરૂપ ધારણ કરી શ્રીહરિ સાથે અક્ષરધામમાં પ્રયાણ કર્યું!
સવારે દરબારશ્રીના સુપુત્ર હરિસિંહજીએ સુંદર પાલખી કરાવી ચંદન અને તુલસીકાષ્ઠથી અગ્નિસંસ્કાર કર્યો. તે સમયે પોલીસ થાણેદારે સમસ્ત જનમેદની વચ્ચે ઊભા રહીને આંસુ ભરી આંખે સાક્ષી આપી: “હું આટલા દિવસ ભગવાન શ્રીસ્વામિનારાયણનો દ્રોહ કરતો હતો, પરંતુ આજે મધરાતે મેં મારી સગી આંખે શ્રીજીમહારાજને રથમાં પધારતાં જોયા અને તેમણે પોતે મને કહ્યું કે અમે અમારા ભક્ત અભેસિંહજીને તેડવા જઈએ છીએ! સ્વામિનારાયણ સાક્ષાત્ પરબ્રહ્મ પુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણ છે અને પોતાના ભક્તોને અંતકાળે પોતે તેડવા આવે છે એ વાત અક્ષરશઃ સત્ય છે!” આ સાંભળી સમગ્ર લોધિકા નગરી જયઘોષથી ગુંજી ઊઠી.

लोधिका दरबार अभेसिंहजी का अक्षरधाम गमन, महाराज का दिव्य रथ और थानेदार की साक्षी
लोधिका गांव के दरबार मुक्तराज श्रीअभेसिंहजी अस्वस्थ थे। उनका कुशल-मंगल जानने हेतु जूनागढ़ से परम विरक्त योगी सद्गुरु श्रीमहापुरुषदासजी स्वामी अपने संत मंडल सहित लोधिका पधारे। मंदिर में विश्राम कर वे दरबारश्री के पास पहुंचे, ‘जय स्वामिनारायण’ किया और भगवान के अनंत ऐश्वर्य एवं महिमा की वार्ताएं कीं।
दरबार अभेसिंहजी ने हाथ जोड़कर विनय की, “स्वामीजी ! मेरा एक संकल्प है। इस नश्वर देह का कोई भरोसा नहीं, इसलिए राजकोट स्थित मेरी वाड़ी में जो छतरी व बंगला बना है, उसी के समीप मंदिर निर्माण हेतु और भूमि लेनी है। इसके लिए मैंने छह हजार रुपये खर्च करने का संकल्प किया है—पांच हजार रुपये भूमि के लिए और एक हजार रुपये चहारदीवारी के लिए।” स्वामीजी ने इस सत्संकल्प की अत्यधिक सराहना की। दरबारश्री ने तुरंत कोठारी डाह्याभाई को बुलाकर छह हजार रुपये सौंपे और भूमि क्रय करवाई।
कुछ दिनों पश्चात दरबारश्री की बीमारी बढ़ गई और उन्हें अंतःकरण में आभास हुआ कि अब देहत्याग का समय आ गया है। उन्होंने ब्राह्मणों को सुवर्ण व रजत के दान दिए तथा गांव के गौचर में सभी गायों के लिए उत्तम घास व चारा डलवाया। दरबारश्री ने गांव के मंदिर के पुजारी गोर लालजी महाराज से कहा, “आज अर्धरात्रि को मुझे यह देह छोड़नी है, अतः आप मेरे पास ही शयन करें।”
मध्यरात्रि के समय श्रीजीमहाराज दिव्य रथ, विमान और पार्षदों सहित दरबार अभेसिंहजी को लेने पधारे! उस समय गांव के बाहर पुलिस चौकी पर तैनात थानेदार बाहर आया था। उसने रात्रि के सन्नाटे में रथ के घुंघरुओं की दिव्य झंकार सुनी। थानेदार ने चकित होकर पुकारा, “इस आधी रात को यह किसका रथ जा रहा है ?” तब रथ में विराजमान श्रीजीमहाराज ने मंद मुस्कान के साथ कहा, “हम स्वामिनारायण भगवान हैं और अपने अनन्य भक्त दरबार अभेसिंहजी को अपने धाम ले जाने आए हैं!” यह देखकर थानेदार आश्चर्य से स्तब्ध रह गया।
श्रीजीमहाराज दरबारगढ़ में पधारे। खाट पर लेटे दरबारश्री को प्रभु, सद्गुरु गोपालनंद स्वामी, नित्यानंद स्वामी, गुणातीतानंद स्वामी तथा दादा खाचर आदि महान मुक्तों के प्रत्यक्ष दर्शन हुए। वे तुरंत उठ खड़े हुए और नीचे उतरकर साष्टांग दंडवत किया। पुजारी लालजी महाराज से कहकर तुरंत गौमय से भूमि का लेपन करवाया। उस पवित्र स्थल पर बैठकर उन्होंने सभी से ‘स्वामिनारायण… स्वामिनारायण’ महामंत्र का संकीर्तन करने को कहा। कीर्तन के मध्य ही दरबारश्री ने स्थूल देह का त्याग कर दिव्य देह धारण की और श्रीहरि के साथ अक्षरधाम में सिधार गए।
प्रातःकाल उनके सुपुत्र हरिसिंहजी ने चंदन व तुलसीकाष्ठ द्वारा उनका अंतिम संस्कार किया। उस समय वहां उपस्थित होकर थानेदार ने सबके समक्ष घोषणा की, “मैं अब तक भगवान स्वामिनारायण से द्वेष रखता था, परंतु आज आधी रात को मैंने अपनी आंखों से श्रीजीमहाराज को दिव्य रथ में जाते देखा। उन्होंने स्वयं मुझसे कहा कि वे अपने प्रिय भक्त अभेसिंहजी को लेने आए हैं। स्वामिनारायण ही साक्षात पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान हैं!” यह सुनकर समस्त उपस्थित जनसमुदाय विस्मय और भक्तिभाव से गद्गद हो गया।

Lodhika Darbar Abhesinhji’s Divine Departure, Shreeji Maharaj’s Chariot, and the Thanedar’s Witness
In the principality of Lodhika, the devout ruler Muktaraj Darbar Shree Abhesinhji fell severely ill. Learning of his condition, the ascetic Sadguru Shree Mahapurushdasji Swami arrived from Junagadh with his group of sadhus. After settling at the local mandir, Swami visited the palace, greeted the ruler with ‘Jai Swaminarayan,’ and imparted divine spiritual discourses on the transcendental glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
Darbar Abhesinhji folded his hands and expressed a heartfelt wish: “Swami, this mortal body has no certainty. In Rajkot, where I have built a memorial canopy and bungalow, I desire to acquire adjacent land to construct a grand mandir. I have pledged six thousand rupees for this purpose—five thousand for the land and one thousand for the boundary wall.” Swami heartily praised his noble desire. Darbar immediately summoned Dahyabhai Kothari and handed over the six thousand rupees. Dahyabhai purchased the land in Rajkot and commenced the construction of the boundary wall.
A few days later, Darbar Abhesinhji’s health deteriorated further, and he intuitively realized that his final hour had arrived. He distributed charities of gold and silver to Brahmins and arranged lavish fodder and cotton-seed feed for all cows in the village outskirts. He requested the temple priest, Gor Lalji Maharaj, “Tonight I shall depart from this mortal body; please remain vigilantly beside me in my chamber.”
At midnight, Shreeji Maharaj personally arrived in a resplendent celestial chariot accompanied by radiant vimanas and eternal muktas! Outside the village, the on-duty police inspector (Thanedar) stepped out on vigil and heard the melodious tinkling bells of a moving chariot in the dead of night. Amazed, the Thanedar called out, “Whose chariot passes at this midnight hour?” Shreeji Maharaj revealed His radiant form with a gentle smile and answered, “We are Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and We have come to escort Our beloved devotee Darbar Abhesinhji to Akshardham!” The Thanedar stood transfixed in utter awe.
Shreeji Maharaj entered the palace chamber. Resting on his bed, Darbar Abhesinhji beheld the divine vision of Maharaj, Gopalanand Swami, Nityanand Swami, Gunatitanand Swami, and Dada Khachar. Overflowing with devotion, he immediately descended from the bed and offered humble prostrations. He asked Lalji Maharaj to sanctify the floor with fresh cow dung, sat upon it in serene meditation, and instructed everyone present to chant the holy ‘Swaminarayan’ mahamantra. Amidst the continuous chanting, Darbar Abhesinhji discarded his physical frame, assumed a divine transcendental body, and departed with Shreehari to Akshardham.
The following morning, his son Harisinhji prepared a magnificent palanquin and performed the last rites using fragrant sandalwood and holy tulsi wood. At the cremation ground, the police Thanedar stepped forward before the assembled crowd and solemnly confessed with tears: “For years I bore skepticism and resentment towards Bhagwan Swaminarayan. But last midnight, I witnessed with my own eyes Shreeji Maharaj seated in a divine chariot, declaring that He had come to take Darbar Abhesinhji to His divine abode! Bhagwan Swaminarayan is undeniably the Supreme Supreme Being incarnate who personally receives His devotees at the time of death!” Hearing this undeniable eyewitness testimony, the entire town reverberated with praises of the Almighty.
