પાડાસણના રાજા સરતાનસિંહજી અને તેમના ત્રણ મિત્રોની સાચા સંતની ખોજ, સ્વરૂપાનંદ સ્વામી દ્વારા શ્રીહરિની ઓળખાણ અને ભુજ મંદિર પ્રતિષ્ઠા વખતે શ્રીહરિની પધરામણી.
પાડાસણના રાજવી સરતાનસિંહજી બાપુ અને તેમના ત્રણ પરમ મિત્રો—મેઘાભાઈ, જેઠીભાઈ અને હકાભાઈ સાચા ગુરુ અને સંતની શોધમાં ચારેય સંપ્રદાય અને બાવન પીઠમાં ભટક્યા હતા, પરંતુ મનને સંતોષ ન થયો. એક સમયે સદગુરુ સ્વરૂપાનંદ સ્વામી સત્સંગ વિચરણ કરતાં પાડાસણ પધાર્યા. શુક-નારદ સમાન તેજસ્વી સ્વામીનાં દર્શન કરી ચારેય મિત્રોએ પ્રણામ કરી પૂછ્યું: “આપ જેવા મહાત્મા ક્યાંય દીઠા નથી; ચાર સંપ્રદાયમાં આપના ગુરુ કોણ છે?”
સ્વરૂપાનંદ સ્વામીએ માનવ જીવનની દુર્લભતા સમજાવતાં કહ્યું: “અક્ષરધામના અધિપતિ, સર્વાવતારી પૂર્ણપુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણ કળિયુગના જીવોના ઉદ્ધાર કાજે પૃથ્વી પર અવતરી હાલ ‘શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ’ નામે બિરાજે છે, અમે તેમના દાસ છીએ!” આ વાતો સાંભળી ચારેય મિત્રો સત્સંગી બન્યા.
સ્વામીના વચને દર્શનની તીવ્ર લગની થતાં ચારેય ઘોડે ચડી ગઢપુર પહોંચ્યા. ઘેલા નદીના તટે સંતોને ધ્યાનમાં અને બ્રાહ્મણોને સ્નાન-સંધ્યામાં જોઈ તેમનો નિશ્ચય વધુ દ્રઢ થયો. દરબારગઢમાં લીંબવૃક્ષ નીચે ઢોલિયે બિરાજેલા શ્રીહરિનાં દર્શન થતાં જ ચારેય મિત્રોને સાક્ષાત પૂર્ણપુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણની પ્રતીતિ થઈ ગઈ અને વર્તમાન ધરાવી પરમ ભક્ત બન્યા. સરતાનસિંહજીએ શ્રીહરિને પાડાસણ પધારવા વારંવાર પ્રાર્થના કરી.
સંવત ૧૮૭૯માં જ્યારે ભુજમાં શ્રી નરનારાયણ દેવની મૂર્તિપ્રતિષ્ઠા કરવા શ્રીજીમહારાજ મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામી, ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામી, બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામી અને કાઠી દરબારો સાથે ગઢપુરથી પધાર્યા, ત્યારે સરતાનસિંહજીનો સંકલ્પ પૂર્ણ કરવા પ્રભુ સરધારથી પાડાસણ પધાર્યા અને સમગ્ર ગામને પાવન કર્યું. હરિલીલામૃતમાં નોંધ્યું છે: “થયું મંદિર ભુજમાં તૈયાર, મૂર્તિ થાપવા તેહ મોઝાર..! બીજે દિન ગયા કોટડે ગામ, ત્યાંથી સરધાર સુંદરશ્યામ..! પાડાસણ થઇને કાળિપાટ, રાજકોટ તણી લિધિ વાટ…!”

पाडासण के राजा सरतानसिंहजी और उनके तीन मित्रों ने सच्चे संत की खोज में चारों संप्रदायों के अनेक तीर्थों का भ्रमण किया था। जब सद्गुरु स्वरूपानंद स्वामी पाडासण पधारे, तो उनके दिव्य स्वरूप के दर्शन कर चारों मित्रों ने जिज्ञासा व्यक्त की।
स्वरूपानंद स्वामी ने उपदेश देते हुए कहा कि साक्षात परब्रह्म पुरुषोत्तम नारायण इस भूतल पर श्री स्वामिनारायण के रूप में अवतरित हुए हैं। चारों मित्र तत्काल सत्संगी बने और दर्शन हेतु गढपुर पहुंचे। गढपुर में नीम वृक्ष के नीचे विराजमान श्रीहरि के दर्शन करते ही उन्हें पूर्ण निष्ठा हो गई।
संवत १८७९ में जब श्रीजीमहाराज भुज मंदिर में नरनारायण देव की प्रतिष्ठा हेतु पधार रहे थे, तब सरतानसिंहजी का मनोरथ पूर्ण करने हेतु प्रभु विशाल संत-मंडल सहित पाडासण पधारे।

Padasan Sartansinhji Swarupanand Swami
Ruler Sartansinhji of Padasan and his three close confidants—Meghabhai, Jethibhai, and Hakabhai—had wandered across all four classical Vaishnava traditions and fifty-two spiritual seats in search of a true, enlightened Satguru, yet remained spiritually unsatisfied. Once, traveling on a satsang tour, Sadguru Swarupanand Swami arrived in Padasan. Beholding Swami’s divine countenance resembling Sage Shuka or Narada, the four friends bowed humbly and inquired: “We have wandered to countless pilgrim shrines, yet never beheld a sublime ascetic like you; within the four traditions, who is your Guru?”
Swarupanand Swami enlightened them on the preciousness of human birth: “The sovereign ruler of Akshardham, the source of all divine incarnations, has descended upon this earth to redeem all souls, manifesting as Bhagwan Swaminarayan! We serve Him day and night.” Deeply moved, all four friends embraced Satsang on the spot.
Longing for personal darshan, the four mounted their horses and galloped toward Gadhpur. Seeing sadhus meditating peacefully along the banks of the sacred Ghela river confirmed Swami’s words. Entering Dada Khachar’s courtyard, the moment their eyes fell upon Bhagwan Swaminarayan seated serenely beneath the neem tree, they experienced transcendental confirmation that He was indeed the supreme Lord of the cosmos, accepting initiation into the inner fellowship.
In Samvat 1879, when Bhagwan Swaminarayan traveled from Gadhpur toward Bhuj to consecrate the historic temple of Shree Nar-Narayan Dev alongside Muktanand Swami, Gopalanand Swami, and Brahmanand Swami, He made a special detour to Padasan, fulfilling King Sartansinhji’s cherished prayer and sanctifying the entire kingdom.
Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami chronicled this in Harileelamrut: “Thayu mandir Bhujma taiyaar, murti thaapva teh mojhaar; Padasan thaine Kalipat, Rajkot tani leedhi vaat!!”
