સુંદરિયાણાની સીમમાં કપાસ વીણતા ત્રીસ દાડિયાઓની ઉત્કંઠા, મૂળા પટેલનો પડકાર, અંતર્યામી શ્રીહરિનું માણકી ઘોડી વાળી ખેતરમાં પધારવું અને સૌને સત્સંગી બનાવ્યાનું ચરિત્ર.
એક સમયે શ્રીહરિ સમસ્ત સંતો, હરિભક્તો અને કાઠી દરબારોના વિશાળ સંઘ સાથે ગઢપુરથી વડતાલ પધારી રહ્યા હતા. માર્ગમાં પૂંજાશા અને વનાશાનું સુંદરિયાણા ગામ આવ્યું, ત્યારે સંઘ ગામની સીમમાંથી પસાર થઈ રહ્યો હતો. તે સમયે સુંદરિયાણાની સીમમાં મૂળા પટેલ નામના એક ખેડૂત પોતાની વાડીએ ત્રીસ જેટલા દાડિયાઓ (મજૂરો) પાસે કપાસના કાલાં વીણાવી રહ્યા હતા.
રસ્તેથી ઘોડેસવારોનો મોટો સંઘ નીકળતો જોઈ કોઈએ ખેતરમાં કામ કરતા દાડિયાઓને કહ્યું, “જુઓ! પૂંજાશા-વનાશાના જે ભગવાન છે એ સ્વામિનારાયણ આ રસ્તેથી પસાર થઈ રહ્યા છે!” આ સાંભળી દાડિયાઓ હાથમાં નેજવાં કરી દર્શન કરવા ઉત્સુક બન્યા અને મૂળા પટેલને આજીજી કરી, “ભાભા! અમને બે ઘડી સ્વામિનારાયણના દર્શન કરવા જવા દો ને!” મૂળા પટેલે ધમકાવીને કહ્યું, “તમે અહીં કપાસ વીણવા આવ્યા છો કે નવરા બેસી રહેવા? જો એ સ્વામિનારાયણ સાચા ભગવાન હશે અને તમારા મનમાં સાચી તાલાવેલી હશે, તો એ ખુદ અહીં તમારા ખેતરમાં દર્શન દેવા આવશે! તમારે ક્યાંય જવાની જરૂર નથી.” એમ કહી સૌને કામે વળગાડ્યા.
ઘોડાઓની ઘમ્મરમાં ચાલતા શ્રીહરિએ અંતર્યામીપણે મૂળા પટેલ અને દાડિયાઓની આ વાત જાણી લીધી. શ્રીહરિએ સંતો-દરબારોને કહ્યું, “તમે સૌ આગળ વાગડના માર્ગે ધીમે ધીમે ચાલો, અમે હમણાં આવીએ છીએ.” એમ કહી શ્રીહરિએ માણકી ઘોડીને પેંગડામાં એડી લગાવી. ચતુર માણકી સીધી મૂળા પટેલના કપાસના ખેતરમાં આવી ઊભી રહી! શ્રીહરિએ સાદ કર્યો, “મૂળા પટેલ એ મૂળા પટેલ! વાગડનો મારગ કયો?”
મૂળા પટેલ વિસ્મય પામી સામે જોઈ રહ્યા અને હાથ જોડી બોલ્યા, “મહારાજ! વાગડનો મારગ તો આપના સાથીદારો જાય છે એ જ છે! આપ તો અંતર્યામી છો, મારા આ ગરીબ દાડિયાઓનો સંકલ્પ પૂરો કરવા અને મારી વાત સત્ય કરવા અહીં પધાર્યા છો! મેં હમણાં જ આ સૌને કહ્યું હતું કે જો સ્વામિનારાયણ ભગવાન હશે તો અહીં દર્શન દેવા આવશે. આપે મારી લાજ રાખી અને આ ગરીબો પર અનંત દયા કરી, હવે અમને સૌને આપના શરણે લો!”
શ્રીહરિ માણકી પરથી નીચે ઉતર્યા અને ત્રીસેય દાડિયાઓ તથા એકત્રીસમા મૂળા પટેલ—એમ સર્વેને એકસાથે પંચવર્તમાન ધરાવી સત્સંગી બનાવ્યા. સૌએ વારાફરતી પ્રભુના ચરણકમળમાં માથાં મૂકી દીધાં. શ્રીહરિએ સૌને મધુર ઉપદેશ આપી પુનઃ માણકી પર અસવાર થઈ ક્ષણવારમાં વાગડના કેડે આગળ નીકળેલા સંઘ સાથે ભળી ગયા.

एक समय श्रीहरि संतों, भक्तों और काठी दरबारों के विशाल संघ के साथ गढपुर से वडताल पधार रहे थे। मार्ग में सुंदरियाना गाँव की सीमा से संघ गुजर रहा था। उस समय खेत में मूला पटेल नामक किसान तीस मजदूरों से कपास चुनवा रहे थे।
मार्ग से अश्वारोही संघ को जाते देखकर किसी ने मजदूरों से कहा कि स्वामीनारायण भगवान इसी मार्ग से जा रहे हैं। सभी मजदूर दर्शन हेतु लालायित हो उठे और मूला पटेल से प्रार्थना की, “बाबा! हमें स्वामीनारायण के दर्शन करने जाने दीजिए।” मूला पटेल ने कहा, “तुम यहाँ कपास बीनने आए हो या व्यर्थ समय गँवाने? यदि स्वामीनारायण साक्षात् भगवान होंगे और तुम्हारी सच्ची लगन होगी, तो वे स्वयं यहाँ खेत में दर्शन देने आएँगे! तुम्हें कहीं जाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।”
अंतर्यामी श्रीहरि ने खेत में हो रही यह चर्चा तत्काल जान ली। प्रभु ने संतों से कहा कि आप वागड़ के मार्ग पर आगे बढ़ें, हम अभी आते हैं। श्रीहरि ने मानकी घोड़ी की लगाम मोड़ी और क्षणभर में मूला पटेल के खेत में पहुँच गए। प्रभु ने पुकारा, “मूला पटेल! वागड़ का मार्ग कौन-सा है?”
मूला पटेल चकित होकर बोले, “महाराज! वागड़ का मार्ग तो वही है जिस पर आपका संघ जा रहा है। आप तो अंतर्यामी परमात्मा हैं, इन निर्धन मजदूरों का संकल्प पूरा करने और मेरे वचनों की लाज रखने यहाँ पधारे हैं! मैंने अभी इनसे कहा था कि यदि वे भगवान होंगे तो यहीं दर्शन देने आएँगे। मुझ पर और इन निर्धनों पर आपकी अपार कृपा हुई, हमें अपनी शरण में लीजिए!”
श्रीहरि अश्व से उतरकर मूला पटेल और सभी तीस मजदूरों को पंचवर्तमान देकर सत्संगी बनाया। प्रभु ने सभी को सदुपदेश दिया और पुनः मानकी पर सवार होकर पलक झपकते ही आगे बढ़ते संघ से जा मिले।

Sundariyana Mulo Patel Laborers Darshan
On one occasion, Bhagwan Swaminarayan was journeying from Gadhpur to Vadtal, accompanied by a magnificent entourage of sadhus, devotees, and Kathi chieftains. As the pilgrimage procession crossed the agricultural outskirts of Sundariyana village, a local farmer named Mulo Patel was supervising thirty daily-wage laborers harvesting cotton pods in his expansive field.
Noticing the grand caravan of horsemen passing along the cart-track, someone remarked to the laborers, “Behold! Swaminarayan Himself, the Lord worshipped by Punja Sha and Vana Sha, is passing along this very path!” Filled with yearning, the laborers stopped their work, shielding their eyes from the sun, and implored their master, “Elder! Please permit us just a few moments to behold the darshan of Swaminarayan!” Mulo Patel scolded them gruffly, “Did you come here to pick cotton or waste daylight? If Swaminarayan is indeed God Almighty and your yearning is sincere, He will come right here into this field to grant you darshan! You have no need to go chasing after Him.”
Riding amidst the swirling dust of the cavalcade, omniscient Shreehari perceived every word exchanged in the cotton field. Turning to His companions, Shreehari said, “Proceed slowly along the Vagad road ahead; We shall rejoin you shortly.” Touching His heels to the stirrups of His prized mare Manki, the intelligent steed galloped straight into Mulo Patel’s cotton field. Reining in Manki beside the astonished farmer, Shreehari called out, “Mulo Patel, O Mulo Patel! Which direction leads to the Vagad road?”
Stunned, Mulo Patel gazed at the divine rider and folded his hands in awe: “O Maharaj! The Vagad road is the very path your companions are taking! You are the all-knowing Supreme Lord; You came here solely to fulfill the earnest desires of my poor laborers and validate the words I casually uttered! I had just told them that if You were truly God, You would come here into the field Yourself. You have vindicated my words and showered boundless compassion upon these poor souls; please accept us at Your lotus feet!”
Dismounting from Manki, Shreehari administered the moral vows (panch vartman) to all thirty laborers and Mulo Patel, initiating them simultaneously into Satsang. Each worker bowed with tears of joy at Shreehari’s lotus feet. After imparting words of spiritual solace, Shreehari remounted Manki and rejoined the traveling pilgrimage group in the twinkling of an eye.
