નરસિંહ મહેતાના વંશજ નાગર કસળીબાંની અડગ ભક્તિ, જેતલપુર યજ્ઞસેવા, મહેસાણામાં શ્રીહરિનો રાતવાસો, ઘીમાં ચડેલી ખીચડીનું ભોજન અને અક્ષરધામ ગમન.
જૂનાગઢના પ્રસિદ્ધ ભક્ત કવિ નરસિંહ મહેતાના પુત્રી કુંવરબાઈની દીકરી શર્મિષ્ઠાદેવીના વંશમાં પાંચમી પેઢીએ નારદીપુર ગામે નાગર ભૂદર મહેતા અને ગંગામાના ઘરે સંવત ૧૮૧૭માં સદગુણી પુત્રી ‘કસળીબાં’નો જન્મ થયો હતો. કસળીબાં નાનપણથી જ શ્રીહરિ પ્રત્યે અનન્ય હેત ધરાવતા હતા. સંવત ૧૮૩૩માં તેમનાં લગ્ન માણસાના ઔદીચ્ય બ્રાહ્મણ નથુલાલ દવે સાથે થતાં જ્ઞાતિબહાર મુકાવાનો વિરોધ સહન કરવો પડ્યો, પરંતુ આ ધર્મનિષ્ઠ પરિવારે કરજીસણ અને ત્યારબાદ મહેસાણા જોશીની ખડકીમાં વસવાટ કર્યો.
સંવત ૧૮૪૩માં તેમના ઘરે પુત્ર બેચરદાસનો જન્મ થયો. પુત્ર હજુ બે વર્ષનો હતો ત્યાં જ પતિ નથુલાલ દવેનું અવસાન થતાં ઘરની તમામ આજીવિકાની જવાબદારી કસળીબાં પર આવી પડી, છતાં તેમણે શ્રીહરિનો દ્રઢ આશરો ક્યારેય ન છોડ્યો. જ્યારે શ્રીહરિએ જેતલપુરમાં ભવ્ય મહાવિષ્ણુયાગ કર્યો, ત્યારે કસળીબાંએ ત્રણ મહિના સુધી રોકાઈને તન-મનથી અખંડ સેવા કરી હતી. તે વખતે તેમણે શ્રીહરિને મહેસાણા પધારવા ભાવભર્યું આમંત્રણ આપેલું. ભક્તવત્સલ શ્રીહરિએ સિદ્ધપુર જતાં તેમના ઘેર પધારવાનું વચન આપ્યું હતું.
પોતાના વચન મુજબ સંવત ૧૮૬૨ના મહા વદ દશમના દિવસે શ્રીહરિ સંતો-ભક્તો સાથે સિદ્ધપુર જતાં મહેસાણા કસળીબાંના ઘેર પધાર્યા અને રાતવાસો કર્યો. અત્યંત ગરીબ સ્થિતિ હોવા છતાં કસળીબાંએ પોતાના પ્રેમથી ઘીમાં ચડેલી સ્વાદિષ્ટ ગરમાગરમ ખીચડી રાંધી શ્રીહરિ તથા સંતોને પ્રેમપૂર્વક જમાડી તૃપ્ત કર્યા. વહેલી સવારે જ્યારે શ્રીહરિ પ્રયાણ કરવા તૈયાર થયા ત્યારે કસળીબાંએ શિરામણ કરી જવા આગ્રહ કર્યો. તે વખતે શ્રીહરિએ રાત્રિની વધેલી એ પવિત્ર ખીચડી સંતોને શિરામણમાં પ્રેમપૂર્વક જમાડી. કસળીબાંના પ્રેમને વશ થઈ શ્રીહરિ તેમના ઘરે ત્રણ વખત પધાર્યા હતા.
સંવત ૧૮૮૬ના ફાગણ સુદ એકાદશીના દિવસે રાજપર ગામે સરસ્વતી નદીના કાંઠે આવેલા ખેતરમાં પીપળાના વૃક્ષ નીચે ખાટલે સૂતાં હતાં, ત્યારે શ્રીહરિ મુક્તો સહિત દિવ્ય સ્વરૂપે કસળીબાંની સન્મુખ પ્રગટ થયા. કસળીબાંએ સૌને ‘જય શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ’ કહી સિત્તેર વર્ષની ઉંમરે સદેહે બોલતાં-ચાલતાં શ્રીહરિના દિવ્ય અક્ષરધામમાં પ્રયાણ કર્યું.

મહેસાણામાં કસળીબાંની અનન્ય ભક્તિ, શ્રીહરિનો રાતવાસો અને વધેલી ખીચડીની દિવ્ય લીલા
जूनागढ़ के प्रसिद्ध भक्त कवि नरसिंह मेहता की सुपुत्री कुँवरबाई की कन्या शर्मिष्ठादेवी के वंश में पांचवीं पीढ़ी में नारदीपुर गाँव में नागर भूदर मेहता और गंगामा के घर संवत १८१७ में धर्मपरायणा पुत्री ‘कसलीबां’ का जन्म हुआ। कसलीबां बाल्यावस्था से ही भक्तिभाव से संपन्न थीं। संवत १८३३ में उनका विवाह माणसा के औदीच्य ब्राह्मण नथुलाल दवे के साथ हुआ। जातिभेद का विरोध झेलने के पश्चात यह परिवार मेहसाणा आकर बस गया।
संवत १८४३ में उनके घर पुत्र बेचरदास का जन्म हुआ। जब पुत्र केवल दो वर्ष का था, तभी पति नथुलाल दवे का देहांत हो गया। समस्त पारिवारिक भार कसलीबां पर आ पड़ा, फिर भी उन्होंने प्रभु का आश्रय दृढ़ रखा। जब श्रीहरि ने जेतलपुर में महाविष्णुयाग का आयोजन किया, तब कसलीबां ने तीन मास तक वहाँ रहकर निष्काम भाव से सेवा की और प्रभु को मेहसाणा आने का निमंत्रण दिया।
श्रीहरि ने अपने वचनानुसार संवत १८६२ के माघ कृष्ण दशमी को सिद्धपुर जाते समय मेहसाणा में कसलीबां के घर संतों सहित रात्रि-विश्राम किया। घोर निर्धनता के उपरांत भी कसलीबां ने शुद्ध घी से युक्त स्वादिष्ट गरम खिचड़ी बनाकर श्रीहरि तथा संतों को प्रेमपूर्वक परोसी। प्रातःकाल जब श्रीहरि प्रस्थान करने लगे, तब कसलीबां के अत्यधिक आग्रह पर प्रभु ने रात्रि की बची हुई प्रसादी खिचड़ी संतों को नाश्ते के रूप में आरोगवाई। कसलीबां के अनन्य प्रेम के वशीभूत होकर श्रीहरि उनके गृह तीन बार पधारे।
संवत १८८६ के फाल्गुन शुक्ल एकादशी को राजपर गाँव में सरस्वती नदी के तट पर पीपल वृक्ष की छाँव में कसलीबां विश्राम कर रही थीं। उसी क्षण श्रीहरि दिव्य विमान और मुक्तों के साथ प्रकट हुए। कसलीबां ने सभी को ‘जय श्री स्वामीनारायण’ कहकर सत्तर वर्ष की आयु में सचेतन रूप से प्रभु के परमधाम को प्रस्थान किया।

Mehsana Kasaliba Ghee Khichdi Shreehari
In the fifth generational descent of Sharmishthadevi, granddaughter of the legendary poet-devotee Narsinh Mehta of Junagadh, a noble daughter named Kasaliba was born in Samvat 1817 to Bhudar Mehta and Gangama in the village of Nardipur. From childhood, Kasaliba possessed intense devotion toward God. In Samvat 1833, she was married to Nathulal Dave, an Audichya Brahmin from Mansa. Overcoming societal opposition due to inter-caste friction, the pious couple eventually settled in Joshi ni Khadki in Mehsana.
In Samvat 1843, she gave birth to a son named Bechardas. Tragically, when the infant was barely two years old, her husband Nathulal passed away. Confronted with severe poverty and hardships, Kasaliba shouldered the burden of raising her son while holding steadfastly to her unwavering surrender to Shreehari. When Bhagwan Swaminarayan organized the monumental Maha-Vishnu Yagya in Jetalpur, Kasaliba resided there for three months, performing tireless service in the community kitchens. There, she humbly invited Shreehari to bless her home in Mehsana, and the compassionate Lord promised to visit during His upcoming journey to Siddhpur.
True to His word, on Maha Vad 10, Samvat 1862, Shreehari arrived at Kasaliba’s home in Mehsana with His entourage of saints and devotees for an overnight stay. Despite her severe financial constraints, Kasaliba poured pure ghee and love into preparing hot, nourishing khichdi, feeding Shreehari and the sadhus to their utmost satisfaction. Early the next morning, as Shreehari prepared to depart, Kasaliba lovingly insisted that they eat before traveling. Delighted by her motherly affection, Shreehari had the sadhus partake of the leftover sanctified khichdi as their morning meal. Bound by her genuine love, Shreehari visited her home three times over the years.
On Phagun Sud Ekadashi, Samvat 1886, while resting under a sacred peepal tree at her farm by the banks of the Saraswati River in Rajpar, Shreehari manifested in divine glory accompanied by heavenly muktas. Chanting ‘Jai Swaminarayan’ and in full consciousness at the age of seventy, Kasaliba was escorted by Shreehari Himself directly to the eternal realm of Akshardham.
