સ્વામીએ વરદાન આપ્યું: ‘તારી પરંપરામાં જે સત્સંગ રાખશે તેના અન્ન, ધન અને આબરૂની રક્ષા મહારાજ કરશે’; ૨૫૦ વીઘા જમીનમાં અઢળક પાક પાકવા લાગ્યો.
ધંધુકા તાલુકાના વાગડ અને મોરસિયા ગામની સીમમાં વીસ વીઘાની વાડી ફરતે ગઢ જેવો મજબૂત વંડો હતો. તે વાડીના કૂવાનું પાણી સદ્ગુરુ શ્રી ભાયાત્માનંદ સ્વામીના શરીરને અત્યંત માફક આવતું. પૂર્વે દ્વેષી વિમુખો દ્વારા આપવામાં આવેલા ઝેરની વિષમ અસરો સામે આ કૂવાના પાણીના સેવનથી સ્વામીને પારાવાર રાહત મળતી હતી. તેથી સ્વામી પોતાના જીવનના ઉત્તરાર્ધના ત્રીસ વર્ષ સુધી અહીં બિરાજ્યા અને આસપાસના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારોમાં સત્સંગની દિવ્ય જ્યોત જલાવી.
વાગડ ગામના ચુડાસમા દરબાર કલ્યાણસિંહ બાપુ સ્વામીના પરમ શિષ્ય હતા. સમગ્ર પંથકમાં તેમના નિર્મળ ભક્તિભાવને કારણે સૌ તેમને આદરથી ‘કલા ભગત’ કહીને બોલાવતા. કલા ભગતને ૨૫૦ વીઘા ખેતીની જમીન અને ચાર પુત્રો હતા. પરંતુ ભાલ પ્રદેશની ખારાશવાળી જમીનમાં ઉપજ અત્યંત નહિવત્ થતી હોવાથી, આટલી બધી જમીન હોવા છતાં કલા ભગત ભારે આર્થિક સંકડામણ વેઠતા હતા. ઘણીવાર તો વર્ષ પૂરું થાય તેટલું અનાજ પણ ઘરમાં બચતું નહીં! છતાં કલા ભગત ક્યારેય કોઈની સમક્ષ હાથ લંબાવતા નહીં કે પોતાની ગરીબાઈની ફરિયાદ કરતા નહીં. તેઓ શ્રીહરિને સર્વકર્તાહર્તા જાણી આનંદમાં રહેતા અને વાડીએ આવી સ્વામીની દેવભાવે સેવા કરતા.
એક દિવસે કલા ભગત વાડીએ સદ્ગુરુ ભાયાત્માનંદ સ્વામીની ચરણસેવા કરી રહ્યા હતા. એવામાં વાગડના એક સગા સંબંધીએ ત્યાં આવીને કડવા વેણ કહ્યાં: “કલા ભગત! તમે તો અહીં નવરા થઈને સ્વામીના પગ દબાવ્યા કરો છો, પણ ઘરમાં છોકરાઓ માટે દાણાપાણીના ફાંકા છે! અહીંથી ઊભા થઈને બાળકોના શિરામણની કાંઈક ચિંતા કરો!”
આ શબ્દો સદ્ગુરુ ભાયાત્માનંદ સ્વામીના કાને પડ્યા. સ્વામીને વિચાર આવ્યો કે, અહો! કલા ભગતની આવી દારૂણ ગરીબી હોવા છતાં તેઓ નિત્ય મારી સેવા કરે છે અને ક્યારેય પોતાની વ્યથા પ્રગટ થવા દીધી નથી! સ્વામીએ કલા ભગતને એકાંતમાં બોલાવી પ્રેમથી પૂછ્યું. કલા ભગતે સંકોચ સાથે પોતાની સત્ય પરિસ્થિતિ વર્ણવી.
સ્વામીએ નેત્રો મીંચી શ્રીહરિનું ધ્યાન ધર્યું. પછી બંને હાથ કલા ભગતના મસ્તક પર મૂકી ગદ્ગદ કંઠે વરદાન આપ્યું: “કલા! આજે અમે ભગવાન શ્રીસ્વામિનારાયણના ચરણોમાં પ્રાર્થના કરીએ છીએ કે જા, શ્રીહરિ તને અતિ સુખીયો કરશે! તારી વંશપરંપરામાં જે કોઈ સત્સંગ અને ધર્મનું પાલન કરશે, તેના અન્ન, ધન અને આબરૂની રક્ષા સ્વયં અમારો ત્રણ છોગાળા વાળો મહારાજ કરશે! તમારા ઘરમાં ક્યારેય કોઈ વાતની ખોટ નહીં રહે!”
મોટા સંતના આશીર્વાદ ફળ્યા! કલા ભગતની ૨૫૦ વીઘા જમીનમાં સોના જેવો અઢળક પાક ઊતરવા લાગ્યો. તેમની ગરીબી સદાને માટે નાબૂદ થઈ ગઈ. આજે પણ વાગડ ગામના અડધાથી વધુ દરબાર પરિવારો કલા ભગતના વંશજો છે, જેઓ સૌ સત્સંગી છે અને ભાયાત્માનંદ સ્વામીના દિવ્ય આશીર્વાદથી સુખ-સમૃદ્ધિ ભોગવી રહ્યા છે.
ગઢડા પ્રથમ પ્રકરણના ૫૮મા વચનામૃતમાં શ્રીજીમહારાજે કહ્યું છે તેમ: “અતિશય મોટા પુરુષનો જેના પર રાજીપો થાય, તેના ગમે તેવા ભૂંડા પ્રારબ્ધ હોય તોય રૂડાં થઈ જાય અને રાંક હોય તે રાજા બને છે!” સંતકૃપાથી કલા ભગતનું જીવન આ શાસ્ત્રવચનનું પ્રત્યક્ષ પ્રમાણ બન્યું.

धंधुका तहसील के वागड़ और मोरसिया गांव की सीमा में बीस बीघा के खेत के चारों ओर गढ़ जैसी मजबूत दीवार थी। उस खेत के कुएं का जल सद्गुरु श्री भायात्मानंद स्वामी के स्वास्थ्य के अत्यंत अनुकूल था। पूर्व में विरोधी दुष्टों द्वारा दिए गए विष के प्रभाव से इस कुएं के जल से स्वामी को बहुत राहत मिलती थी। अतः स्वामी अपने जीवन के अंतिम तीस वर्ष यहीं विराजे और विशाल भाल क्षेत्र में सत्संग का विस्तार किया।
वागड़ के चूड़ासमा दरबार कल्याणसिंह बापू स्वामी के अनन्य शिष्य थे। उनकी निष्काम भक्ति के कारण संपूर्ण क्षेत्र में लोग उन्हें श्रद्धा से ‘कला भगत’ कहते थे। कला भगत के पास २५० बीघा कृषि भूमि थी और परिवार में चार पुत्र थे। किंतु भाल की खारी भूमि में फसल बहुत कम होती थी, जिससे इतनी भूमि होते हुए भी वे अत्यधिक आर्थिक तंगी में रहते थे। कई बार तो वर्षभर का अनाज भी घर में शेष न रहता! तथापि कला भगत कभी किसी से याचना नहीं करते थे। वे प्रभु को सर्वकर्ता मानकर सदा आनंद में रहते और नित्य खेत पर आकर स्वामी की चरणसेवा करते थे।
एक दिन कला भगत स्वामी के चरण दबा रहे थे, तभी गांव के एक संबंधी ने आकर ताना मारा: “कला भगत! आप तो यहां ठाले बैठकर स्वामी के पैर दबा रहे हैं, जबकि घर में बालकों के लिए दाने-दाने के लाले पड़े हैं! यहां से उठिए और बच्चों के भोजन की चिंता कीजिए!”
यह बात सद्गुरु भायात्मानंद स्वामी ने सुन ली। स्वामी ने विचार किया कि, अहो! इतनी विकट निर्धनता होने पर भी कला भगत ने कभी अपनी व्यथा प्रकट नहीं की और नित्य मेरी सेवा करते हैं! स्वामी ने कला भगत को एकांत में बुलाकर प्रेम से पूछा। कला भगत ने संकोचपूर्वक अपनी वास्तविक स्थिति बताई।
स्वामी ने नेत्र बंद कर श्रीहरि का ध्यान किया। तत्पश्चात अपने दोनों हाथ कला भगत के मस्तक पर रखकर भावपूर्वक वरदान दिया: “कला! आज हम भगवान श्रीस्वामीनारायण से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि जाओ, श्रीहरि तुम्हें परम सुखी करेंगे! तुम्हारी वंश-परंपरा में जो कोई भी सत्संग का पालन करेगा, उसके अन्न, धन और सम्मान की रक्षा स्वयं हमारे प्रभु करेंगे! तुम्हारे घर में कभी किसी वस्तु की कमी नहीं रहेगी!”
महान संत का वरदान सत्य सिद्ध हुआ! कला भगत की २५० बीघा भूमि में प्रचुर फसल लहलहाने लगी। उनकी दरिद्रता सदा के लिए मिट गई। आज भी वागड़ गांव के आधे से अधिक राजपूत परिवार कला भगत के वंशज हैं, जो सभी निष्ठावान सत्संगी हैं और स्वामी के आशीर्वाद से परम सुखी हैं।
वचनामृत गढ़डा प्रथम ५८ में श्रीजी महाराज ने फरमाया है: “अतिशय बड़े संत की जिस पर प्रसन्नता हो, उसके चाहे जैसे अशुभ प्रारब्ध हों तो भी शुभ हो जाते हैं और रंक भी राजा बन जाता है!” कला भगत का जीवन इस वचन का प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण बना।

Sadguru Bhayatmanand Swami in Vagad, the Devotion of Impoverished Kala Bhagat Chudasama, and Endless Prosperity via Saintly Grace
On the borderlands between the villages of Vagad and Morsiya in the Dhandhuka taluka, there lay a twenty-bigha orchard enclosed by fortress-like boundary walls. The sweet water of the orchard’s well suited the physical constitution of Sadguru Shree Bhayatmanand Swami exceptionally well, providing immense relief from the lingering toxic effects of poison once stealthily administered to him by malicious adversaries. Consequently, Swami resided in this peaceful hermitage for thirty years during the latter part of his life, nurturing the spiritual life of the surrounding region.
Darbar Kalyansinh Bapu Chudasama of Vagad was Swami’s faithful disciple. Because of his unsullied devotional life, people across the region affectionately addressed him as ‘Kala Bhagat.’ Kala Bhagat held 250 bighas of agricultural land and was father to four sons. However, owing to the saline soil and unpredictable rainfall characteristic of the Bhal tract, the land yielded very poor harvests. Despite his extensive acreage, Kala Bhagat endured severe financial hardship, sometimes running short of basic grains before the year ended. Yet he never complained or sought charity; acknowledging Shreehari as the supreme all-doer, he lived with spiritual joy and faithfully massaged Swami’s lotus feet every single day.
One day, while Kala Bhagat was gently massaging Sadguru Bhayatmanand Swami’s feet, a village kinsman arrived and chided him sharply: “Kala Bhagat! You idle away your time holding Swami’s feet, while your children starve for grain at home! Get up and arrange for your family’s morning meal!”
These stinging words reached the ears of Sadguru Bhayatmanand Swami. Swami reflected within his heart: ‘Behold! Despite such severe poverty, Kala Bhagat has never revealed his distress and serves my physical frame with selfless devotion every day!’ Swami called Kala Bhagat aside in private and enquired with loving concern. Hesitantly, Kala Bhagat laid bare his hardships.
Closing his eyes in deep meditation, Bhayatmanand Swami prayed to Shreehari. Placing both hands upon Kala Bhagat’s head, Swami bestowed an unfailing benediction: “Kala! Today we petition Bhagwan Swaminarayan on your behalf: go, Shreehari shall make you immensely prosperous! Whosoever among your descendants upholds Satsang and righteous conduct, our supreme Lord shall safeguard their grain, wealth, and family honor! You shall never experience scarcity of any kind!”
The blessings of the enlightened saint bore immediate fruit! The 250 bighas of land began yielding bumper golden crops year after year, dissolving his poverty forever. Even today, over half of the Darbar families in the village of Vagad are descendants of Kala Bhagat, living as steadfast devotees in enduring prosperity by Bhayatmanand Swami’s grace.
As Shreeji Maharaj declares in Vachanamrut Gadhada I-58: “When an immensely great Satpurush is pleased with someone, even the darkest past karma is transformed into auspicious fortune, and a pauper becomes a king!” Kala Bhagat’s life stands as a living testament to this eternal scriptural truth.
