મુકતરાજ સુરાખાચરના ગામ નાગડકામાં નથુજી નામે કાઠી દરબાર હતા. નાગડકામાં અવારનવાર પધારતા સંતો-ભક્તોના યોગમાં આવતા તેમને સત્સંગનો ઘણો ગુણ આવ્યો.

નાગડકાના નથુજી દરબાર અને શ્રીજી મહારાજનો નિશ્ચય
મુકતરાજ સુરાખાચરના ગામ નાગડકામાં નથુજી નામે કાઠી દરબાર હતા. નાગડકામાં અવારનવાર પધારતા સંતો-ભક્તોના યોગમાં આવતા તેમને સત્સંગનો ઘણો ગુણ આવ્યો. એકવખત તેઓ સહુ ભક્તો સાથે ગઢપુર પધાર્યા. આવીને દરબારગઢમા શ્રીહરિ અને સંતો-ભક્તોના દર્શન કરીને ધન્ય થયા. સદગુરુ મુકતાનંદ સ્વામીએ એમને પાંચ દિવસ રોક્યા અને મહારાજના મહીમાની બળભરી વાતો કરી.
નથુજી દરબાર પોતે વ્યસન મા હોકો પીતા એટલે સંતોએ એમને વ્યસન મુકીને વર્તમાન ધારણ કરવા કહ્યું પણ મનમાં થયું કે મારા થી હોકો પીવાની ટેવ હજુ એમ તો નહી છૂટે એમ વીચારીને વર્તમાન ધારણ ન કર્યા. પોતે પાંચ દિવસ રોકાયા ને બહુ મહીમાભાવ સાથે પોતાને ગામ નાગડકા ગયા. થોડા વરહ વિત્યે શરીરે મંદવાડ આવ્યો અને એમનો અંતકાળ નજીક આવ્યો. એકરાતે નથુજી ઓસરીમાં ખાટલે સુતા હતા, સ્વપ્નમાં એમને ભયંકર યમદૂતો દેખાયા અને યમપુરીના દુખ દેખાયા, એ જોઇને પોતે તો ડરી ગયા. યમદૂતો એમને લઇને ધર્મરાજા પાહે લઇ ગયા. ધર્મરાજા એ ખુદ એમને નમન કરીને બોલ્યા કે ‘તમે પૃગટ શ્રીહરિના દર્શન કર્યા છે એટલે તમને યમપુરી મા નહી રહેવુ પડે તેમજ આ યમદૂતો તમને હાથ લગાડવાને પણ સમર્થ નથી, તમે પાછા મૃત્યુલોક મા જાવ, અને ભગવાન ના શરણે થાઓ.’ આટલું સ્વપ્ન થતા એમની નિંદર ઉડી ગઇ ને ગઢપુર ફરીને જઇને શ્રાહરિના ચરણે થવાની અદમ્ય ઇચ્છા થઇ. એ સમે શ્રીહરિના પરમઆશ્રિત કચ્છના નારણજીભાઇ સુતાર કોઇ કામ સારુ નાગડકા આવ્યા હતા અને એમના ઘરે દરબારગઢમાં રાતવાહો કરવા સારું ઉતર્યા. રાતે વાળુંપાણી કરીને ઓસરીમાં ખાટલે સુતા સુતા નારણજીભાઇએ સત્સંગની અને શ્રીહરિની ખુબ મહીમાભરી વાતો કરી. નથુજી દરબારનું મન ગળી ગયું. મનમાં અફસોસ વિચાર થયો કે હુ ગઢપુર ગયો પણ શ્રીહરિનો આશ્રિત ન થયો..! બીજે દિવસે નારણજીભાઇ ગઢપુર જવા નીકળ્યા ત્યારે નથુજી દરબાર પણ એમના સાથે ચાલ્યા. બેઉ સથવારે સાથે ટીમણ લઇને ચાલતા ગઢપુર જવા નીકળ્યા. એકદિવસ ચાલ્યા ને રાતે કોઇ ગામમાં રામજી મંદિરે રોકાયા, વળતે દિવસે વહેલી સવારે ચાલીને નદીએ નાહીને ટીમણ કરતી વખતે એક જ થેપલું વધેલું તે બેઉ અડધું-અડધું થેપલું જમીને નદીએ પાણી પીઇને ચાલ્યા. બીજે દિવસ બપોર થતા બેઉ ગઢપુર પહોંચ્યા, દરબારગઢમા જઇને શ્રીહરિને દંડવત કરીને ભાવથી દર્શન કર્યા. શ્રીજીમહારાજે બેઉને આવકાર્યા અને ક્ષેમકુશળ પુછયા. મુળજીબૃહ્મચારીજીને બોલાવી ને બેઉને બપોરે જમાડવાની આમા કરી. આ સાંભળી નારણજીભાઇ સુતાર બોલ્યા કે હે મહારાજ અમે તો બેઉ ટીમણ કરીને આવ્યા છીએ..! ત્યારે અંતર્યામીપણે જાણીને મંદ મંદ હસતા હસતા હાથમા ફૂલદડો ઉછાળતા થકા બોલ્યા કે બેઉ અડધું - અડધું થેપલું જમ્યા છોવ ને કહો છો કે અમે તો ભરપેટ જમ્યા છઇ..! અડધા થેપલામાં તો વળી શુ જમ્યા હશો..! આ સાંભળતા જ નથુજી દરબાર તો શ્રીહરિ એના મનનો સંકલ્પ જાણી ગયા એમ વિચારીને અનન્ય નિશ્ચય થઇ ગયો, પોતે તો ધબોધબ દંડવત કરવા લાગ્યા. મહારાજ પાહે વર્તમાન ધરાવીને સત્સંગી થયા. નથુજી તો ગઢપુરમા પંદર દિવસ સુધી રોકાયા અને શ્રીહરિના દર્શ-સ્પર્શ નો દિવ્ય લાભ લીધો અને પોતે પોતાના ગામ નાગડકા આવ્યા. પછી તો નથુજી દરબાર સંતોના યોગે અખંડ ભજન કરતા થયા અને અંતે અક્ષરધામના અધિકારી થયા.

नागड़का के नथुजी दरबार और श्रीजी महाराज का निश्चय
मुक्तराज सुरा खाचर के गाँव नागड़का में नथुजी नाम के एक काठी दरबार रहते थे। नागड़का में समय-समय पर पधारने वाले संतों और भक्तों के सत्संग-योग में आने से उनके हृदय में सत्संग के प्रति अगाध आदर और सद्भाव जाग्रत हुआ। एक बार वे सभी भक्तों के साथ गढ़पुर पधारे। दरबारगढ़ में पहुँचकर उन्होंने श्रीहरि तथा संतों-भक्तों के पावन दर्शन किए और स्वयं को धन्य माना। सद्गुरु मुक्तानंद स्वामी ने उन्हें पाँच दिनों तक वहीं रोककर श्रीजी महाराज के अलौकिक महिमा की सामर्थ्यवान बातें सुनाईं।
नथुजी दरबार को हुक्का पीने का व्यसन था, इसलिए संतों ने उनसे यह व्यसन त्यागकर वर्तमान (सत्संग के नियम) धारण करने का आग्रह किया। किंतु नथुजी के मन में संकोच हुआ कि, “हुक्का पीने की मेरी आदत इतनी सरलता से नहीं छूट सकेगी,” इसी विचार से उन्होंने उस समय वर्तमान धारण नहीं किए। वे पाँच दिन गढ़पुर में रुककर अपार महिमाभाव के साथ अपने गाँव नागड़का लौट आए।
कुछ वर्ष बीत जाने पर उनका शरीर गंभीर रोग से ग्रस्त हो गया और उनका अंतकाल निकट आ गया। एक रात नथुजी अपने ओसारे में खाट पर सोए हुए थे। स्वप्न में उन्हें भयानक यमदूत और यमपुरी की भीषण यातनाएँ दिखाई दीं। यह दृश्य देखकर वे भयभीत हो गए। यमदूत उन्हें पकड़कर धर्मराज (यमराज) के सम्मुख ले गए। तब स्वयं धर्मराज ने नथुजी को नमन करते हुए कहा, “आपने प्रत्यक्ष प्रकट श्रीहरि के दर्शन किए हैं, इसलिए आपको यमपुरी में नहीं रहना पड़ेगा। ये यमदूत आपको स्पर्श करने में भी असमर्थ हैं। आप पुनः मृत्युलोक लौट जाइए और भगवान की शरण ग्रहण कीजिए।”
यह स्वप्न देखते ही उनकी नींद उड़ गई और उनके हृदय में गढ़पुर जाकर पुनः श्रीहरि के पावन चरणों में पूर्णतः समर्पित होने की अदम्य इच्छा उत्पन्न हो गई।
उसी समय श्रीहरि के परम आश्रित कच्छ के श्री नारणजीभाई सुथार किसी कार्यवश नागड़का आए और रात्रि विश्राम के लिए नथुजी के दरबारगढ़ में ठहरे। रात में भोजन आदि के उपरांत ओसारे में खाट पर लेटे-लेटे नारणजीभाई ने सत्संग और श्रीहरि की अलौकिक महिमा की अमृतमयी बातें कहीं। उनकी बातें सुनकर नथुजी दरबार का हृदय द्रवित हो उठा। उन्हें मन ही मन गहरा पश्चाताप हुआ कि, “हाय! मैं गढ़पुर गया, फिर भी श्रीहरि का सच्चा आश्रित न बन सका!”
अगले दिन जब नारणजीभाई गढ़पुर के लिए रवाना होने लगे, तो नथुजी दरबार भी उनके साथ चल पड़े। दोनों कलेवा (टीमण - यात्रा का भोजन) साथ लेकर पैदल ही गढ़पुर की ओर निकल पड़े। दिनभर चलने के बाद रात्रि में वे किसी गाँव के रामजी मंदिर में रुके। अगले दिन भोर में ही उठकर आगे बढ़े और एक नदी में स्नान करने के बाद जब भोजन करने बैठे, तो देखा कि केवल एक ही थेपला बचा था। अतः दोनों ने आधा-आधा थेपला खाया, नदी का शीतल जल पिया और आगे बढ़ चले।
दूसरे दिन दोपहर होते-होते दोनों गढ़पुर पहुँचे। दरबारगढ़ में जाकर उन्होंने श्रीहरि के चरणों में साष्टांग दंडवत प्रणाम किए और भावविभोर होकर दर्शन किए। श्रीजी महाराज ने दोनों का सहर्ष स्वागत किया और कुशल-क्षेम पूछा। महाराज ने मूलजी ब्रह्मचारी को बुलाकर दोनों के लिए दोपहर का उत्तम भोजन परोसने की आज्ञा दी। यह सुनकर नारणजीभाई सुथार बोले, “हे महाराज! हम दोनों तो मार्ग में कलेवा (टीमण) करके ही आए हैं!” तब अंतर्यामी श्रीजी महाराज उनके मन की बात जान गए और मंद-मंद मुस्कुराते हुए हाथ में फूलों की गेंद (फूलदड़ा) उछालते हुए बोले, “आप दोनों केवल आधा-आधा थेपला खाकर आए हैं और कहते हैं कि भरपेट भोजन करके आए हैं! भला आधे थेपले से भी कहीं पेट भरता है!”
यह सुनते ही नथुजी दरबार का संशय मिट गया। वे समझ गए कि श्रीहरि सर्वज्ञ और अंतर्यामी हैं, जो उनके मन का प्रत्येक विचार जानते हैं। उनके हृदय में श्रीहरि के परब्रह्म स्वरूप का अनन्य निश्चय हो गया। वे भावविह्वल होकर बारंबार दंडवत प्रणाम करने लगे। उन्होंने श्रीजी महाराज के सम्मुख पंच-वर्तमान धारण किए और विधिवत सत्संगी बन गए।
नथुजी गढ़पुर में पंद्रह दिनों तक रहे और उन्होंने श्रीहरि के दर्शन एवं स्पर्श का दिव्य आनंद प्राप्त किया। तत्पश्चात वे अपने गाँव नागड़का लौट आए। इसके बाद नथुजी दरबार संतों के सान्निध्य में अखंड भजन-स्मरण करने लगे और अंत में श्रीहरि के दिव्य अक्षरधाम के परम अधिकारी बने।

Nathuji Darbar of Nagadka and Conviction in Shriji Maharaj
In the village of Nagadka, the blessed home of Muktaraj Sura Khachar, lived a Kathi Darbar named Nathuji. Through his association with the holy saints and devotees who frequently visited Nagadka, he developed great affection and admiration for Satsang. Once, he travelled to Gadhpur along with fellow devotees. Arriving at the Darbargadh, he felt truly blessed upon having the divine darshan of Shri Hari and the assembled saints and devotees. Sadguru Muktanand Swami requested him to stay for five days and delivered inspiring discourses extolling the divine glory (mahima) of Shriji Maharaj.
Nathuji Darbar had an addiction to smoking the hookah. The saints encouraged him to give up this vice and accept the moral vows (vartaman) of Satsang. However, Nathuji thought to himself, “I will not be able to renounce the hookah so easily,” and thus hesitated to take the vows. Having stayed for five days, he returned to his village Nagadka with deep reverence for Maharaj and the saints.
A few years later, he fell critically ill, and his end seemed imminent. One night, as Nathuji lay resting on a cot in the veranda (osari), he had a terrifying dream. Dreadful messengers of death (Yamadutas) appeared and showed him the horrific torments of Yampuri (the realm of death). Terrified by these agonies, he trembled in fear. The Yamadutas seized him and brought him before Dharmaraja (the lord of death and justice). Dharmaraja himself bowed respectfully to Nathuji and said, “You have attained the sacred darshan of the manifest (Pragat) Shri Hari! Therefore, you shall not endure the suffering of Yampuri, nor do these Yamadutas have the power to touch you. Return to the mortal realm (Mrityuloka) and seek full refuge at the lotus feet of Bhagwan.”
Upon waking from this vivid dream, his slumber vanished completely, replaced by an overwhelming longing to rush to Gadhpur and surrender unconditionally at the holy feet of Shri Hari.
Around that time, Shri Hari’s devoted follower, Naranjibhai Sutar of Kutch, arrived in Nagadka on some work and halted overnight at Nathuji’s Darbargadh. After having dinner (valu-pani), as they rested on cots in the veranda, Naranjibhai narrated divine and glory-filled accounts of Satsang and Shri Hari. Nathuji Darbar’s heart melted with devotion. A deep sense of remorse gripped him: “Alas! I went to Gadhpur, yet failed to accept the refuge of Shri Hari!”
The next morning, when Naranjibhai set out for Gadhpur, Nathuji Darbar accompanied him. Carrying packed food (timan) for the journey, both set off on foot. After walking the entire day, they rested overnight at a Ramji temple in a village. The following morning, they resumed their journey before sunrise. After bathing in a river, they opened their food packet and found only a single thepla remaining. They shared it equally—each eating half a thepla—drank water from the river, and continued their walk.
By afternoon on the second day, they reached Gadhpur. Proceeding to the Darbargadh, they offered heartfelt prostrations (dandvat) to Shri Hari and gazed upon His divine form with overflowing love. Shriji Maharaj welcomed them cordially and inquired about their well-being. Maharaj called Mulji Brahmachari and instructed him to serve them a sumptuous afternoon meal. Hearing this, Naranjibhai Sutar politely submitted, “O Maharaj! We have already partaken of our meal on the way!” At that moment, the omniscient (antaryami) Shriji Maharaj smiled gently while tossing a ball of flowers (fuldado) in His hand, and playfully said, “Both of you ate merely half a thepla each, and yet you claim to have eaten a full meal?! How could half a thepla ever satisfy your hunger?!”
Hearing these words, Nathuji Darbar realized that Shri Hari was truly the all-knowing Supreme Lord who knew the innermost secrets of every heart. An unshakable conviction (nishchay) in Shri Hari’s divine supremacy was instantly forged in his heart. Overcome with reverence, he began prostrating repeatedly before Maharaj. He received the vartaman from Shriji Maharaj and formally became a staunch satsangi.
Nathuji stayed in Gadhpur for fifteen days, drinking in the divine joy of Shri Hari’s darshan and sacred touch (sparsh), before returning to his village Nagadka. Thereafter, in the divine company of the holy saints, Nathuji Darbar remained immersed in unceasing devotion and bhajan, and ultimately attained the supreme bliss of Akshardham.
