એકવખત શ્રીહરિ અમદાવાદથી ૪૨ કીમી આઘેરા આવેલા પાનસર ગામથી સહુ સંતો-ભક્તો સાથે સંઘમા ચાલ્યા ને ઓળા ગામે પધારવા સારુ નીકળ્યા હતા. ઓળા ગામના ભક્તોને શ્રીજીમહારાજે પાર્ષદ મોકલીને સમાચાર મોકલાવ્યા, ગામના સહુ ભક્તોના હૈયામાં આનંદ આનંદ થઇ ગયો, સૌ શ્રીજીમહારાજ પધારે છે તો ગામમાં ધામધૂમથી સામૈયા, પધરામણી, સંઘને રસોઇઓ કરીને જમાડવા, સહુના ઉતારા વગેરેની સેવામાં વ્યસ્ત થઇ ગયા ! એટલામા તો શ્રીજીમહારાજ ની પધારવાની વધામણી આવી ! ગામના સૌ લોકો સામૈયુ લઇને ગામની ભાગોળે સન્મુખ આવ્યા. સહુ પોતપોતાના સંકલ્પ પૃમાણે શ્રીહરિને વધાવવા સારુ કુમકુમ, ચોખા, ફૂલહાર કે વસ્તુ પદાર્થ લઇને આવ્યા હતા, આ વખતે ઓળા ગામના જ પૃેમીભકત રતનબેન પટેલ પણ આવીને ગામની બીજી સ્ત્રીઓની સાથે વાટ જોઇને ત્યાં ઉભા હતા. રતનબેને શ્રીજીમહારાજ પોતાને ગામ પધારે છે તેવી વધામણી સાંભળીને જાણે કે પોતાના ઘરે વિવાહ પ્રસંગ હોય તે રીતે તેમણે પોતાનું ઘર શણગાર્યું, આસોપાલવના તોરણ બાંધ્યા, ટોડલે તોરણ-ચાંકળાઓ બાંધ્યા, શેરીએ પાણી છંટકાવ્યા, જેમ વરરાજાને માંડવે પોંખવા જેવી બધી તૈયારી હોય તેવી તૈયારી કરી ! રતનબેને નવું પાનેતર, ચૂંદડી પહેરીને ધર્મકુંવરને પોંખવા તૈયાર થયા ! સત્સંગના સ્ત્રીભક્તો અને એમના કુટુંબના સ્ત્રીઓ પોખણાના ગીતોની રમઝટ બોલાવવા લાગ્યા ! જાણે જાન આવતી હોય તેમ તેમના ઘરની શેરીમાં ઢોલ વાગવા લાગ્યા ! આ પૃેમીભક્તે એ સમે તમામ લોકલાજનો ત્યાગ કરીને જેમ લોકમા સૌ કોઇ તોરણ આવેલા વરરાજાને પોંખે તેમ હેતે કરીને શ્રીહરિને પોંખણા લીધા. ધર્મકુવર રતનબેનને ઘરે પધાર્યા. ગોર મહારાજ હાથમાં થાળી લઈને વરરાજાને વધાવવાના મંત્રો બોલવા લાગ્યા ! વરરાજાને પોંખે તેમ પોંખીને ઓવારણા લઈને વધાવ્યા ને શ્રીહરિના કોમળ ગાલ ખેંચ્યા ! પછી ચરણમાં મસ્તક મૂકીને હૈયે પૃેમના આંસુ સહ શ્રીજીમહારાજના ચરણ ધોયા !
પાનસરથી કર્યો પ્રવાસ, ઓળા ગામે આવ્યા અવિનાશ..! પ્રેમી ભક્ત પટેલ મોજાર, જેને હરિમાં હેત અપાર..! જાણો રૂડું રતનબા નામ, નામ પ્રમાણે ગુણ તમામ..! વાલાજીની વધામણી જાણી, અતિ ઉમંગ ઉરમાં આણી..! બાંધ્યા તરિયા તોરણ બાર, બાંધ્યો મંડપ સુંદર સાર..! શણગાર સજી સહુ નારી, ગીત ગાતી આવી બહુ બારી, આવ્યા રતનબા સહુ સંગે, વાલાજીને વધાવ્યા ઉમંગે..! શોભે હાથમાં પૂજાનો સાજ, તજી લોક ને કુળની લાજ..! વરરાજાને પોંખે જે પેર, એમ વધાવ્યા હરખભેર..! -શ્રીપૂરુષોતમ ચરિત્ર પૂષ્પ ગુચ્છ ૬ પુષ્પ ૫૭
આ સમયે ઓળા ગામના આ સ્ત્રીભકતએ તમામ લોકલાજ કે કુળના રૂઢી-રિવાજોને કોરે મુકીને લોકમર્યાદા ઉલ્લઘન થાય તો ભલે થાય એમ દ્રઢ નિશ્ચય સાથે પોતાના ઘરે ધામધૂમથી સામૈયું કર્યું હતું, શ્રીહરિ પણ પોતાના ભક્તોના મનના તમામ મનોરથ પુરા કર્યા.
શ્રીજીમહારાજ સત્સંગમા વિચરતા ઘણી વખત આ ઓળા ગામે પધાર્યા છે, ઓળા ગામમાં હાલમાં પણ ખુબ સારો સત્સંગ છે, ઓળા ગામમાં ઘણા મહારાજના પ્રસાદીના સ્થાનો છે, તેમાં રતનબેનનું ઘર પણ આવેલું છે.

ओळा की रतनबेन पटेल और श्रीजी महाराज
एक बार श्रीहरि अहमदाबाद से ४२ किमी दूर स्थित पानसर गाँव से समस्त संतों और भक्तों के संघ के साथ प्रस्थान कर ओळा गाँव पधारने के लिए निकले। श्रीजी महाराज ने एक पार्षद भेजकर ओळा गाँव के भक्तों को अपने शुभागमन का समाचार भिजवाया। यह समाचार सुनते ही गाँव के समस्त भक्तों के हृदय में आनंद का सागर उमड़ पड़ा। सभी भक्त श्रीजी महाराज के आगमन हेतु गाँव में धूमधाम से भव्य सामैया (स्वागत-जुलूस), पदरामणी (गृह-प्रवेश), संघ के लिए रसोई तैयार करना, और सभी के ठहरने की उत्तम व्यवस्था करने की सेवा में जुट गए!
इतने में श्रीजी महाराज के आगमन की मंगल बधाई आई! गाँव के समस्त हरिभक्त भव्य सामैया लेकर गाँव की सीमा (भागोल) पर श्रीहरि के स्वागत हेतु सम्मुख पहुँचे। सभी भक्त अपने-अपने संकल्प के अनुसार श्रीहरि के स्वागत के लिए कुमकुम, अक्षत, पुष्पमालाएँ तथा विविध भेंट सामग्री लेकर आए थे। उस समय ओळा गाँव की अनन्य प्रेमीभक्त रतनबेन पटेल भी गाँव की अन्य महिलाओं के साथ श्रीहरि की बाट जोहती हुईं वहाँ उपस्थित थीं।
रतनबेन ने जब यह शुभ समाचार सुना कि श्रीजी महाराज स्वयं उनके गाँव पधार रहे हैं, तब उन्होंने अपने घर को इस प्रकार सजाया मानो घर में कोई विवाह-उत्सव हो! उन्होंने आम और आसोपालव के तोरण बाँधे, चौखटों पर तोरण और कलात्मक चाकले सजाए, गलियों में सुगंधित जल का छिड़काव करवाया और दूल्हे के आगमन पर मंडप में जैसे अगवानी (पोंखने) की तैयारी की जाती है, ठीक वैसी ही समस्त तैयारियाँ कीं! रतनबेन ने नया पानेतर (विवाह की मांगलिक साड़ी) और चूँदड़ी धारण कर साक्षात् धर्मकुंवर श्रीहरि की दूल्हे की भाँति अगवानी करने की तैयारी की! सत्संग की महिला भक्त और उनके परिवार की स्त्रियाँ विवाह के मांगलिक पोंखणा के मधुर गीत गाने लगीं! मानो बारात पधार रही हो, वैसे ही उनकी गली में ढोल-नगाड़े गूंजने लगे!
इस प्रेमीभक्त ने उस समय समस्त लोकलाज का परित्याग कर दिया और जिस प्रकार समाज में तोरण पर पधारे दूल्हे की अगवानी (पोंखणा) की जाती है, उसी प्रकार असीम प्रेमभाव से श्रीहरि को पोंखा और उनकी अगवानी की। धर्मकुंवर श्रीजी महाराज रतनबेन के घर पधारे। कुलगुरु (गोर महाराज) हाथ में पूजा की थाली लेकर वरराज के स्वागत के मांगलिक वैदिक मंत्रों का उच्चारण करने लगे! जैसे दूल्हे का वंदन किया जाता है, वैसे ही पोंखकर और न्योछावर (ओवारणा) लेकर उन्होंने श्रीहरि का स्वागत किया तथा प्रेम के अतिरेक में श्रीहरि के कोमल गालों को खींचा! तत्पश्चात श्रीहरि के श्रीचरणों में मस्तक रखकर, नेत्रों में उमड़ते प्रेमाश्रुओं के साथ श्रीजी महाराज के चरण प्रक्षालन किए!

(अर्थात: पानसर से यात्रा कर अविनाशी श्रीहरि ओळा गाँव पधारे। पटेल जाति में रतनबा नाम की एक अनन्य प्रेमीभक्त थीं, जिनका प्रभु में अपार स्नेह था; जैसा उनका नाम था, वैसे ही उनके समस्त दिव्य गुण थे। प्रभु के आगमन का समाचार जानकर हृदय में अत्यंत उमंग भरकर उन्होंने द्वार पर तोरण बाँधे और सुंदर मंडप सजाया। सभी स्त्रियाँ सज-धजकर मंगल गीत गाते हुए पधारीं। रतनबा ने सबके साथ मिलकर उमंगपूर्वक प्रभु का स्वागत किया; हाथ में पूजा की थाली लिए, लोक और कुल की लज्जा त्यागकर, जिस प्रकार दूल्हे की अगवानी की जाती है, उसी प्रकार उन्होंने हर्षोल्लास से श्रीहरि को पोंखा और वंदन किया।)
उस समय ओळा गाँव की इस महान भक्त ने समस्त लोकलाज और कुल की रूढ़ियों को एक ओर रखकर, ‘चाहे लोक-मर्यादा का उल्लंघन हो जाए तो भी कोई परवाह नहीं’—इस दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ अपने घर में धूमधाम से सामैया रचाया। भक्तवत्सल श्रीहरि ने भी अपने अनन्य भक्त के हृदय के समस्त मनोरथ पूर्ण किए।
श्रीजी महाराज ने सत्संग विचरण के दौरान अनेक बार ओळा गाँव को अपने पावन चरण-कमलों से पवित्र किया। वर्तमान समय में भी ओळा गाँव में अति सुंदर सत्संग पुष्पित-पल्लवित है। गाँव में महाराज के कई प्रसादी के स्थान हैं, जिनमें रतनबेन का यह पवित्र घर भी सम्मिलित है।
इस अनन्य प्रेमीभक्त का स्मरण करते हुए सद्गुरु निष्कुलानंद स्वामी ने ‘श्रीभक्तचिंतामणि’ ग्रंथ के प्रकरण ११९ की १०वीं कड़ी में लिखा है:
ભક્ત કાકુજી ને કાશીદાસ, શિધરદાસનો ઓળા માં વાસ..!
રુડા ભક્ત છે બાઇ રતન, એહ રહે ઓળે હરિજન..!!

Ratanben Patel of Ola and Shriji Maharaj
Once, Shri Hari set out with a large congregation (sangha) of sadhus and devotees from the village of Pansar, located about 42 kilometers from Ahmedabad, to visit the village of Ola. Shriji Maharaj dispatched an attendant (parshad) to convey the joyful news of His imminent arrival to the devotees of Ola. Hearing this blissful news, the hearts of the devotees overflowed with supreme delight. Everyone enthusiastically immersed themselves in preparations to accord a grand welcome to Shriji Maharaj—organizing an elaborate celebratory procession (samaiya), home visits (padhramani), preparing sumptuous meals to serve the visiting sangha, and arranging comfortable lodgings for all!
Soon, the auspicious herald of Shriji Maharaj’s arrival reached the village! The entire village came forward in a joyous welcoming procession to the outskirts (bhagol) of the village to receive Shri Hari. Carrying kumkum, rice grains (akshat), fragrant flower garlands, and auspicious offerings according to their heartfelt wishes, everyone stood ready to welcome Shri Hari. At that time, Ratanben Patel, an exceptionally loving and staunch female devotee of Ola, also came along and stood waiting eagerly amidst the village women.
Upon receiving the blessed news of Shriji Maharaj’s arrival in her village, Ratanben adorned and decorated her home as though a grand wedding was being celebrated there! She hung auspicious torans made of mango and asopalav leaves, decorated the doorways with embroidered tapestries (chaklas), sprinkled sanctified water across the streets, and made all the elaborate arrangements typically prepared to receive and welcome a bridegroom at the wedding pavilion (mandap)! Wearing a new bridal panetar and chundadi, Ratanben prepared herself to welcome Dharmakunwar Shri Hari as a celestial bridegroom! The women devotees of the Satsang fellowship and the ladies of her household began joyfully singing traditional wedding welcoming songs (pokhna)! Drums and dholaks resonated in the lane outside her home, just as if an auspicious wedding procession (jaan) had arrived!
Discarding all worldly inhibitions and public reserve (loklaj), this unalloyed lover of God warmly welcomed Shri Hari, lovingly performing the traditional rites of welcoming a bridegroom at the threshold (pokhvu). Dharmakunwar entered Ratanben’s home. The family priest (Gor Maharaj), holding a sacred plate of offerings, began reciting Vedic welcoming chants for the divine Groom! Performing the pokhnu and waving auspicious lamps (ovaarna), she lovingly welcomed Him and, in an overflow of deep maternal-bridal affection, playfully pinched Shri Hari’s tender cheeks! Then, bowing her head at His divine lotus feet with tears of transcendent love streaming from her eyes, she washed Shriji Maharaj’s holy feet!
Paansarthi karyo pravaas, Olaa gaame aavyaa Avinaash..!
Premi bhakt Patel mojaar, jene Harimaan het apaar..!
Jaano rudun Ratanbaa naam, naam pramaane gun tamaam..!
Vaalaajini vadhaamani jaani, ati umang urmaani aani..!

(The eternal and imperishable Shri Hari journeyed from Pansar and arrived in the village of Ola. Among the Patel community lived a loving devotee named Ratanba, whose heart brimmed with boundless love for Hari. Blessed was her name Ratan, and her virtues were just as radiant as a precious jewel. Rejoicing at the arrival of her Beloved Lord with immense enthusiasm in her heart, she hung auspicious festoons at her door and raised a splendid canopy. Adorned in festive attire, women gathered singing celebratory songs. Ratanba stepped forward with them all, welcoming her Beloved with boundless joy. Holding the sacred items of worship in her hands, setting aside all worldly constraints and family modesty, she welcomed Him with exuberant joy, just as an honored bridegroom is welcomed at the altar!)
On that occasion, setting aside all social inhibitions and customary family traditions, and with the resolute conviction that even if societal boundaries were transcended, it was solely for God, this noble woman devotee celebrated a grand samaiya at her residence. The benevolent Lord Shri Hari fulfilled every earnest wish of His devout follower’s heart.
During His travels across Gujarat, Shriji Maharaj visited the village of Ola several times. Even today, the village of Ola is home to a vibrant and devoted Satsang community. There are many sanctified places of Shriji Maharaj’s divine prasadi in Ola, among which Ratanben’s holy home stands revered to this day.
Commemorating this exalted devotee, Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami wrote in Shri Bhaktachintamani (Chapter 119, Verse 10):
Bhakt Kaakuji ne Kaashidaas, Shidhardaasno Olaamaan vaas..!
Rudaa bhakt chhe baai Ratan, eh rahe Ole Harijan..!!
