ગોખરવાળાના રણછોડભાઇ અને બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી
ગામ મોટા ગોખરવાળા ના રણછોડભાઇ પટેલ એકાંતિક ભક્ત હતા. સદગુરુ બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી સાથે તેઓ ખુબ હેત ધરાવતા, સંતોનુ મંડળ ખારાપાટમા જ્યારે જ્યારે પધારે એટલે તેઓ અચૂક સત્સંગ કરવા સંતોને પોતાને ગામ તેડી આવતા. પોતે અખંડ શ્રીહરિનુ ભજન કરતા. પોતાની ઉત્તરાવસ્થામાં તેઓ વિધુર થયા ને એમને વળી કોઇ પુત્ર પણ ન હતા. પોતાની નાની ખેતીવાડી વગેરેમાંથી ઘરનો વહેવાર ચાલતો. એ વખતે પોતે થોડા માંદા પડ્યા પણ સેવા કરનાર કોઇ હતું નહી. એકવખત સદગુરુ બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી વિચરણ કરતા મોટા ગોખરવાળા પધાર્યા એટલે ભગતના સમાચાર જાણી ને એમના ખબર અંતર પુછયા ને કીધુ કે ભગત તમે એકલા જ છવ ને કોઇ સારસંભાળ રાખે એમ પણ નથી તો અમે વડતાલ જાઇએ છઇ તો અમારી સાથે જ ચાલો. રણછોડ ભગતે તો સંતો પાસે પોતાના દેહની સેવા ન કરાવવા સારુ વિવેકપુર્વક સાથે જવા ના પાડી પણ સ્વામીના આગૃહને વશ સાથે લીધા. સંતોના મંડળ સાથે રણછોડભાઇએ ગઢપુર-વડતાલ વગેરે ધામમાં દેવોના ભાવથી દર્શન કર્યા. વળતા તેઓ સંતો સાથે અમરેલી પાસેના મોટા આંકડીયા ગામે પધાર્યા. મંદિરે સ્વામી પાસે ભગતે રજા લેતા કહ્યું કે સ્વામી, તમે મારા દેહની બવ સંભાળ સંતો પાહે રખાવીને મને વડતાલ ગઢપુર વગેરે ધામના દર્શન કરાવ્યા, પણ હવે મને રજા આપો તો હુ મારે ગામ ગોખરવાળા જાઉ. બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી હસ્યાને બોલ્યા કે ભગત, ઘરે જઇને શુ કરશો? જો જો ઘરે કાય કામ ન હોય ને કોઇ જગતની વાસના ન હોય તો વધારે દેહની પીડા ભોગવવી નો હોય તો ભગવાનમાં વૃત્તિ રાખીને ભજન કરો શ્રીહરિ તમોને બે દિવસ મા ધામમાં તેડી જાશે. રણછોડભાઇ સ્વામીને પૃણામ કરીને કહે કે ભલે સ્વામી, તમે મહારાજ ને પૃારથના કરીને મને ધામમાં મોકલી દ્યો. એના થી વળી બીજુ રુડું શુ..! સ્વામીના કહેવાથી રણછોડભાઇ ભજન કરવા લાગ્યા, બે દિવસ થયા એટલે મંદિરમાંજ એમને શ્રીહરિએ દર્શન દીધાને કીધુ કે ભગત ચાલો અમે તમને તેડવા આવ્યા છીએ. રણછોડભગત ને એ સમયે એમનો નાનોભાઇ ને પોતાની બેન યાદ આવ્યા તે શ્રીહરિ અદ્રશ્ય થય ગયા. સ્વામી પોતાના આસને બેઠા હતા ને ધ્યાન માથી જાગીને તુરંત જ રણછોડભાઇ પાહે આવ્યાને બોલ્યા કે ભગત..! મહારાજ તમને તેડવા આવ્યા હતા ને તમે ધામમાં એમના હારે કેમ ન ગયા? તમે શ્રીજીમહારાજને ધક્કો ખવરાવ્યો કે? રણછોડભગત કહેકે હા સ્વામી, શ્રીહરિ મને તેડવા આવ્યા પણ મને એજ ટાણે મારા સગા સાંભર્યાં એટલે મહારાજ મને મુકીને જતા રહ્યા. બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી કહે ભગત, જગતની ઉપાધી છોડો, તમારે જે છેલ્લી ઇચ્છા હોય એ કહો એટલે એ લખાણ કરી દઇએ, જગતની વાસના છોડીને ભગવાનને ભજો, જાઓ મહારાજ તમને ફરીને તેડવા આવશે. રણછોડભગતે પોતાની મરણમૂડી ને ઘરવખરી વગેરે એમના નાના ભાઇની દિકરીને આપવા ઇચ્છા કરી. પોતે સ્વામીના વચને ફરીને શ્રીહરિને સંભારીને ભજન કરવા બેસી ગયા. ત્રણ દિવસ ભજન કર્યું ને ચોથે દિવસે સવારે શ્રીહરિ ત્રણ છોગલાવાળી પાઘ ધારણ કરીને ભગતને ફરીને તેડવા આવ્યા. એ સમે સહુને ‘જય શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ’ કહીને રણછોડભગત શ્રીહરિ સાથે અક્ષરધામમા સીધાવ્યા.
આવા વચનસીદ્ધ મહાપુરુષ આપણા સદગુરુ બાલમુકુંદદાસ સ્વામી હતા કે જેઓના વચને અનેક ભક્તો ને અગાઉથી આપેલ અવધીએ અનેક વખત શ્રીહરિ તેડવા પધારતા. સૌ હરિભક્તો હાલતા-ચાલતા, વાતો કરતા અક્ષરધામના અધિકારી બનતા.

गोखरवाला के रणछोड़भाई और बालमुकुंददास स्वामी
गाँव मोटा गोखरवाला के रणछोड़भाई पटेल एक परम एकांतिक भक्त थे। सद्गुरु बालमुकुंददास स्वामी के प्रति उनका अगाध स्नेह था। संतों का मंडल जब भी खारापाट क्षेत्र में विचरण के लिए पधारता, वे संतों को सत्संग कराने के लिए विशेष रूप से अपने गाँव ले आते थे। वे अखंड रूप से श्रीहरि का भजन-स्मरण करते थे।
अपनी वृद्धावस्था में उनकी पत्नी का देहांत हो गया था और उनका कोई पुत्र भी नहीं था। अपनी छोटी सी खेती-बाड़ी से उनका निर्वाह चलता था। उस समय वे अस्वस्थ हो गए, परंतु उनकी सेवा-टहल करने वाला कोई नहीं था।
एक बार सद्गुरु बालमुकुंददास स्वामी विचरण करते हुए मोटा गोखरवाला पधारे। भगत की बीमारी का समाचार जानकर स्वामी ने उनका कुशल-क्षेम पूछा और कहा, “भगत! आप सर्वथा अकेले हैं और यहाँ आपकी देखभाल करने वाला भी कोई नहीं है। हम वड़ताल जा रहे हैं, अतः आप भी हमारे साथ ही चलिए।” संतों से अपने शरीर की सेवा न करवानी पड़े, इस मर्यादा के कारण रणछोड़ भगत ने नम्रतापूर्वक साथ चलने से संकोच किया, परंतु स्वामी के प्रेमपूर्ण आग्रह के आगे नतमस्तक होकर वे संतों के साथ चल पड़े।
संत मंडल के साथ रणछोड़भाई ने गढ़पुर और वड़ताल आदि दिव्य धामों में भावविभोर होकर देवों के दर्शन किए।
वहाँ से लौटते हुए संत अमरेली के समीप मोटा आंकडिया गाँव पधारे। मंदिर में भगत ने स्वामी से विदा माँगते हुए कहा, “स्वामी! आपने संतों से मेरे अस्वस्थ देह की बहुत सेवा करवाई और मुझे वड़ताल-गढ़पुर आदि पावन धामों के दर्शन कराए। अब कृपा करके मुझे आजज्ञा दीजिए ताकि मैं अपने गाँव गोखरवाला लौट सकूँ।”
बालमुकुंददास स्वामी मंद-मंद मुस्कुराए और बोले, “भगत! घर जाकर क्या करोगे? यदि घर पर कोई सांसारिक कार्य शेष न हो, संसार की कोई वासना न बची हो और शरीर की अधिक पीड़ा न भोगनी हो, तो अपनी संपूर्ण वृत्ति भगवान में जोड़कर अनन्य भाव से भजन करो। श्रीहरि दो ही दिनों में आपको अपने परम धाम में ले जाएँगे।”
रणछोड़भाई ने स्वामी को साष्टांग प्रणाम करते हुए कहा, “जैसी आपकी आज्ञा स्वामी! आप महाराज से प्रार्थना करके मुझे धाम भेज दीजिए। इससे अधिक कल्याणकारी और क्या हो सकता है!”
स्वामी की आज्ञा पाकर रणछोड़भाई एकाग्रचित्त होकर भजन करने लगे। दो दिन बीते ही थे कि मंदिर में स्वयं श्रीहरि ने उन्हें प्रत्यक्ष दर्शन दिए और कहा, “भगत, चलिए! हम आपको धाम ले जाने आए हैं।” परंतु ऐन उसी क्षण रणछोड़ भगत के मन में अपने छोटे भाई और बहन का विचार आ गया। सांसारिक संबंध का संकल्प उठते ही श्रीहरि अंतर्ध्यान हो गए!
स्वामी अपने आसन पर ध्यानस्थ बैठे थे। ध्यान से जागते ही वे तुरंत रणछोड़भाई के पास आए और बोले, “भगत! महाराज आपको धाम ले जाने स्वयं पधारे थे, फिर आप उनके साथ धाम क्यों नहीं गए? क्या आपने श्रीजी महाराज को व्यर्थ ही फेरा लगवा दिया?”
रणछोड़ भगत ने लज्जित होकर कहा, “हाँ स्वामी! श्रीहरि मुझे लेने आए थे, परंतु उसी क्षण मुझे अपने सगे-संबंधियों की स्मृति हो आई; इसलिए महाराज मुझे यहीं छोड़कर चले गए।”
बालमुकुंददास स्वामी ने कहा, “भगत! इस संसार की उपाधि और मोह छोड़ दीजिए। आपकी जो भी अंतिम इच्छा हो बताइए, हम उसे लिखवा देते हैं। संसार की वासना त्यागकर केवल भगवान का भजन कीजिए। जाइए, महाराज आपको पुनः लेने आएँगे।”
रणछोड़ भगत ने अपनी अंतिम संचित पूँजी और घर का सामान अपने छोटे भाई की पुत्री (भतीजी) को सौंपने की इच्छा प्रकट की। वह व्यवस्था करवा दी गई।
स्वामी के वचनों पर पूर्ण विश्वास रखकर रणछोड़ भगत पुनः श्रीहरि का स्मरण करते हुए तन्मयता से भजन में बैठ गए। उन्होंने तीन दिनों तक अखंड भजन किया। चौथे दिन प्रातःकाल स्वयं श्रीहरि तीन कलँगी वाली पाघ (तीन छोगले वाली पाग) धारण करके दिव्य रूप में भगत को लेने पधारे। उस दिव्य बेला में सभी उपस्थित भक्तों को ‘जय श्री स्वामिनारायण’ कहकर रणछोड़ भगत श्रीहरि के साथ दिव्य अक्षरधाम को सिधार गए।
हमारे सद्गुरु बालमुकुंददास स्वामी ऐसे वचनसिद्ध महापुरुष थे कि जिनके वचनों से श्रीहरि भक्तों को पूर्व-निश्चित समय पर अनेक बार साक्षात लेने पधारते थे। भक्तजन चलते-फिरते और सहज वार्तालाप करते हुए भी अक्षरधाम के अधिकारी बन जाते थे।

Ranchhodbhai of Gokharvala and Balamukunddas Swami
Ranchhodbhai Patel of the village Mota Gokharvala was an Ekantik devotee of the highest order. He had profound love and reverence for Sadguru Balamukunddas Swami. Whenever the assembly of sadhus toured the Kharapat region, he would unfailingly invite them to his village to hold spiritual discourses. He engaged continuously in devout remembrance and singing praises of Shri Hari (akhand bhajan).
In his old age, his wife passed away and he had no sons to look after him. He sustained himself through his modest farmland. Around this time, he fell ill, and there was no one around to nurse or attend to him.
Once, Sadguru Balamukunddas Swami arrived in Mota Gokharvala during his spiritual travels (vicharan). Learning of the devotee’s condition, Swami visited him, inquired after his health, and affectionately said, “Bhagat! You are all alone and there is no one here to nurse you. We are traveling to Vadtal; come along with us.” Reluctant to let the sadhus serve his physical body, Ranchhod Bhagat politely hesitated out of deep humility and respect. However, yielding to Swami’s loving insistence, he accompanied the sants.
Traveling with the mandal of sadhus, Ranchhodbhai had devout darshan of the sacred deities in holy pilgrimage centers such as Gadhpur and Vadtal, filling his heart with divine bliss.
On their return journey, they arrived at the village of Mota Ankadia near Amreli. At the mandir, Bhagat approached Swami to seek leave, saying, “Swami, you had the sadhus take such loving care of my frail body and blessed me with the divine darshan of holy places like Vadtal and Gadhpur. Now kindly grant me permission so that I may return to my village, Gokharvala.”
Balamukunddas Swami smiled gently and said, “Bhagat, what will you do by returning home? If you have no remaining worldly duties, harbor no material desires for this world, and wish to be relieved of physical bodily suffering, then focus your entire consciousness on God and engage in devotion. Shri Hari will personally come to take you to His divine abode (Akshardham) within two days.”
Bowing down to Swami, Ranchhodbhai replied, “As you wish, Swami! Please pray to Maharaj to take me to His divine abode. What greater fortune could there be!”
Following Swami’s holy command, Ranchhodbhai sat down in deep meditation and continuous prayer. Two days later, right inside the mandir, Shri Hari manifested before him in divine form and said, “Bhagat, arise! We have come to take you with Us.” At that very instant, however, thoughts of his younger brother and sister crossed Ranchhod Bhagat’s mind. The moment worldly attachment flickered in his consciousness, Shri Hari vanished!
Swami was seated at his seat in meditation. Immediately opening his eyes from dhyan, Swami walked over to Ranchhodbhai and said, “Bhagat! Maharaj came in person to take you to Dham, so why did you not accompany Him? Did you make Shriji Maharaj return empty-handed?”
Ranchhod Bhagat admitted with remorse, “Yes, Swami! Shri Hari came to escort me, but at that exact moment memories of my relatives surfaced in my mind; hence Maharaj left me behind and departed.”
Balamukunddas Swami instructed, “Bhagat, renounce all worldly entanglements! Tell us whatever final wishes you have regarding your worldly possessions, and we will have them recorded. Renounce all worldly desires and worship God with single-minded focus. Go, Maharaj will come again to escort you.”
Ranchhod Bhagat expressed his wish that his remaining life savings and household belongings be gifted to his younger brother’s daughter (his niece). This was duly arranged.
Placing complete faith in Swami’s divine words, Ranchhod Bhagat once again sat in concentrated meditation, continuously chanting the name of Shri Hari. He prayed steadfastly for three days. On the morning of the fourth day, Shri Hari personally appeared in His divine majesty, adorned with a radiant turban bearing three decorative crests (tran chhoglawali paagh), to take Bhagat. Greeting everyone present with a final “Jai Swaminarayan,” Ranchhod Bhagat departed joyfully with Shri Hari to Akshardham!
Such was the greatness of our Sadguru Balamukunddas Swami—a divine master whose words were unfailingly fulfilled (vachansiddha). By his word, Shri Hari would personally arrive at the promised hour to escort countless devotees. Ordinary devotees attained the highest status of Akshardham while effortlessly conversing, walking, and living in his holy company.
