રાજકોટના માંડણભાઈ કડીયાની માંદગી વખતે શ્રીહરિનું પધારવું, દીકરો બહારગામ હોવાથી બીજે દિવસે બપોરે ચાર વાગ્યે તેડવા આવવાનું વચન અને સર્વે સમક્ષ દિવ્ય અક્ષરધામગમન.
ગામ રાજકોટમાં માંડણભાઈ કડીયા નામે શ્રીજીમહારાજના અતિ નિષ્ઠાવાન હરિભક્ત રહેતા હતા. તેઓએ નાની વયમાં શ્રીહરિનાં પ્રત્યક્ષ દર્શન કરેલાં, જે મનોહર મૂર્તિનું સ્મરણ તેમના હૃદયમાં અખંડ જળવાઈ રહ્યું હતું. તેઓ સદાય ભજન-પરાયણ રહેતા.
વૃદ્ધાવસ્થામાં માંડણભાઈ શરીરે બીમાર પડ્યા. એક દિવસે તેઓ ખાટલામાં સૂતા હતા, ત્યારે ઓરડામાં દિવ્ય તેજના અંબાર વચ્ચે સાક્ષાત્ શ્રીજીમહારાજ, ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામી અને ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી પધાર્યા! પ્રભુએ કહ્યું, “માંડણભાઈ ! અમે તમને અક્ષરધામમાં તેડી જવા આવ્યા છીએ.”
આ સાંભળી માંડણભાઈની પુત્રીએ કહ્યું, “બાપુજી ! આપનો દીકરો કાળોભાઈ બહારગામ વડિયા ગયો છે અને તે કાલે આવવાનો છે, માટે મહારાજને કહો કે કાલે તેડવા પધારે.” માંડણભાઈએ હાથ જોડી પ્રાર્થના કરી: “હે મહારાજ ! આપ મને આવતીકાલે તેડવા પધારજો.” ભક્તવત્સલ પ્રભુએ કહ્યું, “ભલે, અમે આવતીકાલે બપોરે બરાબર ચાર વાગ્યે તેડવા આવીશું.”
માંડણભાઈએ તુરંત દીકરાને તાર મોકલી બોલાવ્યો અને ગામના સર્વે સત્સંગીઓને પણ સમાચાર મળ્યા કે માંડણભાઈ કાલે ચાર વાગ્યે ધામમાં જશે! બીજે દિવસે સત્સંગીઓ ઝાંઝ-પખાજ સાથે ભજન ગાતા ઓસરીમાં બેઠા. દીકરો કાળોભાઈ બપોરે દોઢ વાગ્યે ટ્રેનમાંથી ઊતરીને ઘેર આવ્યો. તેણે કહ્યું, “બાપા ! ભગવાન તો સ્વતંત્ર છે, જો ચાર વાગ્યે ન આવે તો આપણી હાંસી થાય!” માંડણભાઈએ દ્રઢતાથી કહ્યું, “બેટા ! મહારાજ પોતાનું વચન ક્યારેય મિથ્યા ન કરે, ચાર વાગ્યે જરૂર પધારશે.”
માંડણભાઈએ ગરમ પાણીએ સ્નાન કરી કોરાં શ્વેત વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કર્યાં. પછી સહુને ‘સ્વામિનારાયણ… સ્વામિનારાયણ…’ મહામંત્રની ધૂન કરવા કહ્યું. બરાબર બપોરે ચાર વાગ્યાનો ટકોરો પડ્યો, ત્યારે માંડણભાઈ બોલ્યા: “આ શ્રીજીમહારાજ તથા મોટા મોટા સંતો મને તેડવા આવ્યા છે, હું તેમની સાથે ધામમાં જાઉં છું!” એમ કહી બોલતાં-ચાલતાં તેમણે પંચભૌતિક દેહ છોડી દીધો અને દિવ્ય સ્વરૂપ ધારણ કરી અક્ષરધામમાં સિધાવી ગયા! સર્વે જનમેદની આ અદ્ભુત લીલા જોઈને પ્રભુના ચરણોમાં નતમસ્તક થઈ ગઈ.

राजकोट में मांडणभाई कड़िया नामक श्रीजीमहाराज के अनन्य निष्ठावान भक्त रहते थे। बाल्यकाल में किए गए प्रभु के दिव्य दर्शन का अखंड ध्यान उनके हृदय में रहता था।
वृद्धावस्था में जब वे अस्वस्थ हुए, तब संपूर्ण कक्ष दिव्य प्रकाश से भर गया और साक्षात श्रीजीमहाराज, गोपालनंद स्वामी व गुणातीतानंद स्वामी उन्हें लेने पधारे! प्रभु ने कहा, “मांडणभाई ! हम तुम्हें अक्षरधाम ले जाने आए हैं।”
उनकी पुत्री ने कहा कि भाई कालोभाई बाहर गया है और कल लौटेगा, अतः महाराज से कल आने की विनती करें। मांडणभाई की प्रार्थना पर दयालु प्रभु ने वचन दिया, “ठीक है, हम कल दोपहर ठीक चार बजे तुम्हें लेने आएंगे।”
दूसरे दिन दोपहर डेढ़ बजे कालोभाई लौटा और उसने संशय प्रकट किया। मांडणभाई ने कहा, “बेटा ! भगवान अपने वचन से कभी पीछे नहीं हटते।” मांडणभाई ने स्नान कर नवीन वस्त्र पहने और सबको संकीर्तन करने को कहा। ठीक चार बजे मांडणभाई पुकार उठे: “देखो, प्रभु और संत मुझे लेने पधारे हैं, मैं उनके साथ जा रहा हूं!” ऐसा कहकर उन्होंने सहजता से देह त्याग दी। यह प्रत्यक्ष चमत्कार देखकर सभी ग्रामीण भक्ति-भाव से विह्वल हो गए।

Mandanbhai Kadiya of Rajkot: Predicted Departure at Four O’Clock and Divine Promise
In the city of Rajkot lived Mandanbhai Kadiya, an exceptionally dedicated devotee of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Having received the divine darshan of Shreehari during his youth, that enchanting divine form remained permanently enshrined within his heart through continuous remembrance.
In his elderly years, Mandanbhai fell ill. As he lay on his cot, the entire room was bathed in brilliant celestial light, and Shreeji Maharaj manifested along with Sadguru Gopalanand Swami and Gunatitanand Swami! The Lord said, “Mandanbhai! We have arrived to take you to Akshardham.”
Overhearing, Mandanbhai’s daughter pleaded that her brother Kalobhai was away in Vadiya and would only return tomorrow, requesting Maharaj to grace them the following day. Mandanbhai prayed, “O Lord! Pray arrive tomorrow to receive me.” Compassionate Shreehari agreed: “Very well, We shall return tomorrow at exactly four o’clock in the afternoon.”
Mandanbhai immediately sent a telegram to his son. The news spread across town that Mandanbhai was departing for Akshardham at 4 PM! Devotees gathered with musical instruments, singing devotional hymns on the veranda. When Kalobhai arrived by train at 1:30 PM, he felt anxious that if God did not arrive, they would face public embarrassment. Mandanbhai affirmed with rock-solid faith: “Son! The Lord never breaches His divine word; He will arrive at four sharp.”
Mandanbhai bathed in warm water, put on fresh white clothes, and asked everyone to chant the holy ‘Swaminarayan’ mahamantra. As the clock struck exactly 4 PM, Mandanbhai proclaimed: “Behold, Shreeji Maharaj and the holy saints have arrived to receive me; I am departing with Them!” Speaking these serene words, he cast off his mortal frame and ascended in a celestial body to Akshardham! Witnessing this extraordinary departure, the assembled townspeople bowed in profound reverence.
