શ્રીજીમહારાજ એકવખત ગઢપુરથી વડતાલ જવા સહુ સંતોભકતો સાથે સંઘમા નીકળ્યા. સવારે સહુ ચાલ્યા તે બોટાદના ગામ તાજપરથી ચાલ્યા તે ઢીંકવાળી ગામે સહુ પહોંચ્યા.

ઢીંકવાળીના વણિક ભક્ત અને શ્રીજી મહારાજ
શ્રીજીમહારાજ એકવખત ગઢપુરથી વડતાલ જવા સહુ સંતોભકતો સાથે સંઘમા નીકળ્યા. સવારે સહુ ચાલ્યા તે બોટાદના ગામ તાજપરથી ચાલ્યા તે ઢીંકવાળી ગામે સહુ પહોંચ્યા. ગામમાં એક વણિક હરિભક્ત રહેતા હતા. વણિક ભક્ત ને ખબર પડતા તેઓ દોડતા આવ્યા ને શ્રીહરિને સહુને રસ્તે આંતર્યા ને દંડવત કરીને પૃારથના કરી કે હે મહારાજ..! તમે સહુ સાથે પધાર્યા છોવ તે મારે ઘરે રોકાવ..! શ્રીહરિ બોલ્યા કે આજ તો તડકો ચડતો જાય છે ને હજુ તો લાંબો પંથ કાપવો છે તો રોકાવુ પોહાય એમ નથી. ત્યારે વણિક ભક્ત વિનંતી કરતા આંખ્ય મા આંસુ સાથે બોલ્યા કે હે મહારાજ, આજ અમારા ઘરે થાળ કરો ને કાલે સવારે આહીથી ચાલજો..! ને તમને બહુ ઉતાવળ હોય તો બપોર પછી રોંઢો ઢળતા તડકો ઓછો થાય ત્યારે આહીથી સારંગપુર નજીક છે તો ત્યાં સુધી ચાલજો ને રાત્ય ત્યાં રહેજો પણ અમને બપોરે સહુને જમાડવા નો મોકો આપો તો સારુ ! શ્રીહરિ ભક્તના અંતરનો ભાવ જાણીને બોલ્યા કે સંઘના બીજા સંતો ને ભક્તોતો સારંગપુર પહોંચી ગયા છે, એટલે અમારે પણ ત્યાં જ પહોંચવું જરુરી છે. તમે અમને જમાડવા સારુ રોકો છો, પણ પાછળ વણિક કમળશીભકત ને એનું ઘરવાળું બેઉ ચાલતા આવે છે એમને રોકજો ને સારી પેઠે ચાકરી કરીને જમાડજો. તમે અમને પૃત્યક્ષ જમાડ્યા જેટલું જ માનીશું. અમને ચાલવા દ્યો ને તાણ્ય કરો માં..! વણિક ભક્ત શ્રીજીમહારાજની વાત્યે માન્યા અને ચાલવા દીધા. શ્રીજી મહારાજ એમના ઉપર રાજી થયા ને ત્યાથી ચાલ્યા તે સારંગપુર ગયા. મોડેકથી કમળશી શેઠને એમના ઘરવાળા બેઉ આવ્યા તે એમને રોક્યા ને કહ્યું કે શ્રીજીમહારાજે કહ્યું છે કે તમે બને અમારે ઘરે ચાલો ને રોકાઓ. કમળશી શેઠ કહે હુ બહુ થાક્યો છવ, મહારાજે મનની વાત જાણીને તમને કહ્યું. હરિભક્ત કમળશી શેઠને ઘરે લઇ ગયા ને સરભરા કરી. ઉનું પાણી કરીને નવરાવ્યા ને પૃેમે જમાડ્યા. બપોરે સુતા તે ચરણચંપી કરીને બહુ રાજી કર્યા. રોંઢો ઢળતા કમળશી શેઠ ને એમના ઘરવાળા ચાલ્યા તે સંધ્યા ટાણે ગામ સારંગપુર પહોંચ્યા. શ્રીજી મહારાજ જીવાખાચરના દરબારમાં રાતવાસો કરવા રોકાયેલા ત્યાં આવીને દર્શન કર્યા ને ઢીંકવાળી ગામે વણિક ભક્તે તમારી આજ્ઞાએ બહુ હેતે કરીને જમાડ્યા ને ચાકરી કરીને રોકયાની વિગતે વાત્ય કરી તે શ્રીજીમહારાજ બહુ રાજી થયાને મંદ મંદ હસતા થકા બોલ્યા કે એમણે અમારા ભક્તને હેતે જમાડ્યા ને ચાકરી કરી હવે એ વણિક ભક્તનું ઋણ અમારે ચુકવવુ જ રહ્યું.

ढींकवाली के वणिक भक्त और श्रीजी महाराज
एक बार श्रीजी महाराज समस्त संतों और भक्तों के संघ के साथ गढ़पुर से वड़ताल जाने के लिए निकले। सुबह-सुबह सभी चले और बोटाद के पास ताजपर गाँव से होते हुए ढींकवाली गाँव पहुँचे। उस गाँव में एक वणिक (वैश्य) हरिभक्त रहते थे। जब वणिक भक्त को समाचार मिला, तो वे दौड़ते हुए आए और मार्ग में श्रीहरि व समस्त संघ को रोककर साष्टांग दंडवत प्रणाम किया। उन्होंने करबद्ध प्रार्थना की, “हे महाराज..! आप सभी संतों-भक्तों के साथ पधारे हैं, तो कृपा कर आज मेरे घर पर पधारिए और विश्राम कीजिए!” श्रीहरि बोले, “आज तो धूप चढ़ती जा रही है और अभी हमें बहुत लंबा रास्ता तय करना है, इसलिए यहाँ रुकना संभव नहीं है।”
तब वणिक भक्त ने अपनी आँखों में आँसू भरकर विनीत भाव से कहा, “हे महाराज! आज हमारे घर थाल आरोगिए और कल प्रातःकाल यहाँ से प्रस्थान कीजिएगा! और यदि आपको बहुत शीघ्रता हो, तो दोपहर ढलने पर जब धूप कम हो जाए, तब यहाँ से सारंगपुर समीप ही है, तो वहाँ तक चले जाइएगा और रात्रि में वहीं विश्राम कीजिएगा; परंतु कृपा करके आज दोपहर में सभी को भोजन कराने का सुअवसर हमें अवश्य दीजिए!”
श्रीहरि ने भक्त के अंतःकरण का अनन्य प्रेम-भाव जानकर कहा, “संघ के अन्य संत और भक्त सारंगपुर पहुँच चुके हैं, इसलिए हमारा भी समय पर वहाँ पहुँचना आवश्यक है। आप हमें भोजन कराने के लिए रोक रहे हैं, परंतु हमारे पीछे वणिक कमलशी भक्त और उनकी पत्नी—दोनों पैदल आ रहे हैं। आप उन दोनों को अपने यहाँ रोकिएगा, उनका खूब आदर-सत्कार कीजिएगा और प्रेमपूर्वक भोजन कराइएगा। आप उन्हें भोजन कराएँगे, तो हम यही मानेंगे कि आपने साक्षात् हमें ही भोजन कराया है। अतः अब हमें आगे बढ़ने दीजिए और अधिक आग्रह मत कीजिए!” वणिक भक्त ने श्रीजी महाराज की आज्ञा शिरोधार्य की और उन्हें प्रस्थान करने दिया। श्रीजी महाराज उन पर अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर सारंगपुर की ओर चले गए।
कुछ समय पश्चात कमलशी सेठ और उनकी पत्नी वहाँ पहुँचे। वणिक भक्त ने उन्हें रोक लिया और कहा, “श्रीजी महाराज ने आज्ञा दी है कि आप दोनों हमारे घर पधारें और विश्राम करें।” कमलशी सेठ बोले, “मैं चलते-चलते अत्यंत थक गया था; अंतर्यामी महाराज ने मेरे मन की व्यथा जानकर ही आपको यह आज्ञा दी है।”
हरिभक्त कमलशी सेठ और उनकी पत्नी को अपने घर ले गए और उनकी भावभीनी आवभगत की। उन्होंने उनके स्नान के लिए गर्म जल की व्यवस्था की और प्रेम से उन्हें भोजन कराया। दोपहर में जब वे विश्राम करने लगे, तब उनके चरण दबाकर (चरण-चंपा करके) उन्हें अत्यंत प्रसन्न किया।
दोपहर ढलने पर कमलशी सेठ और उनकी पत्नी वहाँ से चले और संध्या समय सारंगपुर पहुँचे। श्रीजी महाराज सारंगपुर में जीवा खाचर के दरबार में रात्रि-विश्राम के लिए ठहरे हुए थे। कमलशी सेठ ने वहाँ जाकर महाराज के दर्शन किए और ढींकवाली के वणिक भक्त ने महाराज की आज्ञा से जिस आदर, प्रेम और सेवा-भाव से उन्हें भोजन कराया व उनकी सेवा की, उसका सारा वृत्तांत विस्तार से सुनाया। यह सुनकर श्रीजी महाराज अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और मंद-मंद मुस्कुराते हुए बोले, “उन्होंने हमारे भक्त को अत्यंत प्रेम से भोजन कराया और उनकी सेवा की; अब उस वणिक भक्त का यह ऋण हमें चुकाना ही पड़ेगा!”

The Vanik Devotee of Dhinkvali and Shriji Maharaj
Once, Shriji Maharaj set out from Gadhpur (Gadhada) towards Vadtal along with a large congregation (sangh) of sadhus and devotees. Commencing their journey early in the morning, they passed through the village of Tajpar near Botad and reached the village of Dhinkvali. A devoted Vanik devotee resided in this village. Upon learning of Maharaj’s arrival, he came running, intercepted Shri Hari and the devotees along the path, fell prostrate in dandavat pranam, and prayed with folded hands, “O Maharaj! You have graced our village along with all the sadhus and devotees; please stay at my home today!” Shri Hari replied, “The sun is rising higher, the heat is increasing, and we still have a long distance to travel; hence, halting here will not be feasible.”
With tears welling up in his eyes, the Vanik devotee pleaded fervently, “O Maharaj, please sanctify our home by accepting Thal (sacred meal) today and depart tomorrow morning! And if You are in great haste, then once the afternoon heat subsides, Sarangpur is nearby—You may proceed there and rest for the night. But please grant us the blessed opportunity to serve lunch to everyone this afternoon!”
Perceiving the sincere devotion and loving affection in the devotee’s heart, Shri Hari said, “The other sadhus and devotees of the sangh have already arrived in Sarangpur, so it is necessary for Us to reach there as well. You wish to halt Us in order to serve food; however, walking behind Us are the devotee Kamalshi Sheth and his wife. Kindly stop them, serve them with utmost hospitality and care, and feed them with love. We shall consider that service to be as good as feeding Us directly in person! Therefore, please permit Us to proceed and do not insist any further.” Honoring Shriji Maharaj’s divine wish, the Vanik devotee consented and allowed Maharaj to continue. Deeply pleased with him, Shriji Maharaj proceeded towards Sarangpur.
Later, Kamalshi Sheth and his wife arrived in the village on foot. The Vanik devotee halted them and conveyed, “Shriji Maharaj has instructed that both of you must come to our home and rest.” Kamalshi Sheth remarked, “I was utterly exhausted from walking; Maharaj, knowing the innermost state of my mind, gave you this instruction.”
The devotee took Kamalshi Sheth and his wife to his home and showered them with warm hospitality. He prepared warm water for their bath and served them a delicious meal with immense love. When they rested in the afternoon, he massaged their feet (charan-champi) and brought them great comfort and joy.
As the afternoon heat cooled, Kamalshi Sheth and his wife resumed their journey and reached Sarangpur by dusk. Shriji Maharaj was residing for the night in the Darbargadh of Jiva Khachar. Kamalshi Sheth went there, had Maharaj’s divine darshan, and narrated in detail how, obeying His command, the Vanik devotee of Dhinkvali had lovingly hosted them, served them, and fed them with great devotion. Hearing this, Shriji Maharaj was immensely delighted and remarked with a gentle smile, “He served Our devotee with profound love and fed him so affectionately; now We are forever indebted to that Vanik devotee, and We must surely repay that debt of love!”
