મેમકાના કરશન અને ખોડા પટેલનો મનોરથ અને શ્રીહરિની અંતર્યામી લીલા
એકવખત ગામ મેમકાથી સંતોના યોગે નવા સત્સંગી થયેલા એવા કરશન અને ખોડો નામે બે કણબી પટેલ ભક્તો ગઢપુરમાં શ્રીહરિના દર્શને આવ્યા. તે સમયે શ્રીજીમહારાજ ગંગાજળિયા કૂવા પાસે ચોકની વચ્ચે પાટલા પર બિરાજીને સ્નાન કરી રહ્યા હતા. મૂળજી બ્રહ્મચારીજી કૂવામાંથી જળ સીંચી સીંચીને પ્રભુને નવરાવતા હતા. ઘણા સંતો અને ગામડે ગામડેથી આવેલા હરિભક્તો થોડે છેટે ઊભા રહીને આ અલૌકિક સ્નાનલીલાનાં દર્શન કરી ધન્ય બનતા હતા. આ બંને કણબી મુમુક્ષુઓ પણ સૌની સાથે ઊભા રહી દર્શન કરવા લાગ્યા.
આ બંને ભક્તોએ કોઈકના મુખેથી સાંભળેલું કે શ્રીહરિને કોઈ કાઠીએ તલવારનો ઘા કરેલો, તેથી શરીરે ઘાનું નિશાન પડી ગયું છે. તેમના મનમાં વિચાર ચાલતો હતો કે, “એ ઘાનું નિશાન પ્રભુના દેહના કયા ભાગ પર હશે?” હજુ તો તેઓ આવો સંકલ્પ કરી રહ્યા હતા, ત્યાં જ ઘટઘટના જાણતલ શ્રીહરિએ અંતર્યામીપણે તેમના મનનો વિચાર જાણી લીધો! મહારાજે બંનેને પોતાની પાસે બોલાવ્યા અને સ્મિત કરતાં કહ્યું: “જુઓ તો ખરા! અમારા શરીરે ક્યાંય વાગેલા ઘાનું કોઈ ચિહ્ન દેખાય છે?” એમ કહી સ્નાન કરતી વખતે પહેરેલી ધોતી જાંઘ (સાંથળ) સુધી ઊંચી કરી તેમને નિરીક્ષણ કરાવ્યું. પ્રભુએ તેમના મનનો સંશય ટાળવા પોતાના દિવ્ય ચરણોનાં અખંડ દર્શન કરાવ્યાં. બંને ભક્તો પ્રભુની આવી અગાધ અંતર્યામી શક્તિ જોઈ દંગ રહી ગયા!
સ્નાન પૂરું કરી, કોરાં શ્વેત વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કરી શ્રીહરિ અક્ષરઓરડીએ પધાર્યા. કરશન અને ખોડો પટેલ પણ દર્શનાર્થે અક્ષરઓરડીમાં આવ્યા અને ઢોલિયા પાસે જ નીચે બેઠા. શ્રીહરિએ તેમની સાથે કાળધર્મ અને કળિયુગનાં લક્ષણોની ગહન વાતો શરૂ કરી: “હાલ તો કળિયુગનો પ્રભાવ વધ્યો છે, જેથી લોકો ધર્મરૂપી બળદના બે પગ કાપવા મંડ્યા છે…” પ્રભુ આ વાત કરતા હતા ત્યાં જ મૂળજી બ્રહ્મચારીએ સાદ કર્યો: “મહારાજ! થાળ તૈયાર છે, જમવા પધારો!” શ્રીહરિ ઢોલિયા પરથી ઊભા થતાં બોલ્યા: “તમે બંને સાધુના આસને જાવ અને સદગુરુ મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામી પાસે બેસી સત્સંગ સમાગમ કરો.”
કરશન અને ખોડો પટેલ પ્રણામ કરી સંતોના સ્થાનમાં મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીના આસને પહોંચ્યા. જેવો તેમણે સ્વામીને સાષ્ટાંગ દંડવત્ કરી આસન લીધું, તે જ ક્ષણે શ્રીહરિની પ્રેરણાથી મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીએ ત્યાંથી જ કથા શરૂ કરી: “કળિયુગમાં અધર્મી મનુષ્યો ધર્મરૂપી બળદના બે પગ કાપવા લાગ્યા છે…” જ્યાંથી શ્રીહરિએ વાત અધૂરી મૂકી હતી, બરાબર ત્યાંથી જ સ્વામીને બોલતા જોઈ બંને કણબી ભક્તો આશ્ચર્યચકિત થઈ ગયા! મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીએ તેમને શ્રીહરિના અનંત ઐશ્વર્ય, મહિમા અને પરબ્રહ્મ પુરુષોત્તમપણાનો એવો સચોટ ઉપદેશ આપ્યો કે બંનેના અંતરમાં અડગ અને નિર્લેપ નિશ્ચય થઈ ગયો.

मेमका के करशन और खोडा पटेल का मनोरथ और श्रीहरि की अंतर्यामी लीला
एक समय मेमका गाँव से संतों के सत्संग प्रभाव से नए सत्संगी बने करशन और खोडा नामक दो पाटीदार (कणबी) भक्त गढ़पुर में श्रीहरि के दर्शन हेतु आए। उस समय श्रीजी महाराज गंगाजलिया कुएँ के समीप आँगन में चौकी पर विराजमान होकर स्नान कर रहे थे। मूलजी ब्रह्मचारी कुएँ से जल खींच-खींचकर प्रभु को स्नान करा रहे थे। अनेक संत और दूर-दराज से आए भक्त कुछ दूरी पर खड़े होकर प्रभु की इस मनोहारी स्नान-लीला के दर्शन कर आनंदित हो रहे थे। ये दोनों नए भक्त भी भीड़ में खड़े होकर दर्शन करने लगे।
इन दोनों ने किसी से सुन रखा था कि अतीत में किसी काठी ने श्रीहरि पर तलवार से प्रहार किया था, जिससे उनके शरीर पर घाव का निशान बन गया है। वे मन ही मन सोच रहे थे: “वह तलवार के घाव का चिह्न प्रभु के शरीर के किस अंग पर होगा?” वे अभी ऐसा विचार कर ही रहे थे कि घट-घट के ज्ञाता अंतर्यामी श्रीहरि ने उनके मन के विचार को तत्काल जान लिया! महाराज ने दोनों को अपने समीप बुलाया और मंद-मंद मुस्कुराते हुए बोले: “तनिक देखिए तो सही! क्या हमारे शरीर पर कहीं किसी घाव का निशान दिखाई देता है?” ऐसा कहकर उन्होंने स्नान हेतु पहनी धोती जांघ तक ऊपर उठाकर उन्हें दिखाई। प्रभु ने उनका संशय मिटाने हेतु अपने पावन चरणों के भी दर्शन कराए। प्रभु की ऐसी प्रत्यक्ष अंतर्यामी सामर्थ्य देखकर दोनों भक्त स्तब्ध रह गए!
स्नान के उपरांत स्वच्छ श्वेत वस्त्र धारण कर श्रीहरि अक्षरओरडी पधारे। करशन और खोडा पटेल भी दर्शनार्थ अक्षरओरडी पहुँचे और पलंग के निकट भूमि पर बैठ गए। श्रीहरि ने उनसे युगधर्म और कलियुग के लक्षणों पर गहन चर्चा करते हुए कहा: “वर्तमान में कलियुग का प्रभाव इतना बढ़ गया है कि अज्ञानी जन धर्म रूपी बैल के दोनों पैरों को काटने लगे हैं…” अभी प्रभु यह कह ही रहे थे कि मूलजी ब्रह्मचारी ने पुकारा: “महाराज! थाल परोस दिया है, भोजन हेतु पधारिए!” श्रीहरि तुरंत पलंग से उठते हुए बोले: “आप दोनों संतों के स्थान पर जाइए और सद्गुरु मुक्तानंद स्वामी के सान्निध्य में सत्संग का लाभ लीजिए।”
करशन और खोडा पटेल प्रणाम कर सीधे मुक्तानंद स्वामी के आसन पर पहुँचे। जैसे ही उन्होंने स्वामी को प्रणाम कर अपना स्थान ग्रहण किया, ठीक उसी क्षण श्रीहरि की आंतरिक प्रेरणा से मुक्तानंद स्वामी ने वहीं से वार्ता प्रारंभ की: “कलियुग में अधर्मी जन धर्म रूपी बैल के पैरों को काट रहे हैं…” जहाँ श्रीजी महाराज ने बात छोड़ी थी, अक्षरशः वहीं से स्वामी को प्रवचन आरंभ करते देख दोनों पाटीदार भक्तों के आश्चर्य की सीमा न रही! मुक्तानंद स्वामी ने उन्हें श्रीहरि के अलौकिक ऐश्वर्य और पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम स्वरूप का ऐसा अद्भुत ज्ञान कराया कि दोनों के हृदय में भगवान स्वामीनारायण का अखंड निश्चय प्रतिष्ठित हो गया।

Karshan and Khodo Patel of Memka: Shrihari’s Omniscience and Muktanand Swami’s Discourses
Once, two farmer devotees named Karshan and Khodo Patel from the village of Memka, newly drawn into the Satsang fellowship through the company of traveling saints, arrived in Gadhada for the sacred darshan of Shreeji Maharaj. At that hour, Maharaj was seated upon a wooden pedestal in the courtyard beside the Gangajalio well, partaking of His daily bath. Mulji Brahmachari lovingly drew water from the well and poured it over Maharaj. Many ascetics and visiting pilgrims stood at a respectful distance, rejoicing in the divine spectacle of the Lord’s morning ablution. Karshan and Khodo joined the assembly.
The two devotees had previously heard rumours that an antagonistic Kathi chieftain had once struck Maharaj with a sword, leaving a scar upon His physical frame. As they gazed upon Him, they wondered silently: “Upon which part of the Lord’s sacred body is that sword scar located?” Before their fleeting thought could even fully form, the omniscient Lord, Knower of every heart, perceived their inner curiosity! Maharaj beckoned them forward and inquired with a warm smile: “Look closely at Our body! Do you observe any trace of a sword wound anywhere?” Lifting the bathing cloth up to His thigh, He allowed them to inspect His flawless skin and granted them the sanctifying sight of His lotus feet. Astounded by His unfailing mind-reading ability, the two devotees bowed low in awe.
After completing His bath and donning dry white garments, Shreehari retired to the Akshar Ordi. Karshan and Khodo followed and sat near His cot. Maharaj engaged them in deep spiritual dialogue on the cosmic degeneration of the present age: “In this age of Kaliyug, rampant unrighteousness has begun severing the very limbs of the bull of Dharma…” Just as Maharaj uttered these words, Mulji Brahmachari called out: “Maharaj! The lunch plate is served, please come!” Rising from the cot, Shreehari instructed the two guests: “Proceed now to the sants’ quarters and seek spiritual association with Sadguru Muktanand Swami.”
Karshan and Khodo bowed respectfully and walked over to Sadguru Muktanand Swami’s seat. The very moment they bowed and sat before him, inspired by the inner prompting of Shreehari, Muktanand Swami began his discourse with the identical theme: “In Kaliyug, sinful beings have begun chopping off the legs of the bull of Dharma…” Seeing Swami resume the exact unfinished sentence spoken by Maharaj moments earlier in another room, the two devotees were utterly spellbound! Swami then unfolded the supreme glory, divine majesty, and ultimate supremacy of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, cementing an unshakable conviction in their hearts for life.
