ગામ માળીયાના હરિભક્ત ઠક્કર જીવણભાઇ માંદા થયા, એમને ડોકે રતવો થયેલો તે બહુ પીડા હતી. એ સમયે સદગુરુ મહાપુરુષદાસ સ્વામી ફરતા ફરતા વિચરણમા માળીયા આવ્યા ને મંદિરે ઉતારો કર્યો. કોઇએ ખબર દીધા એટલે સ્વામી એમના ઘરે ખબર પુછવા આવ્યા. સ્વામીએ એમના ખાટલા પાસે ઉભા રહીને સંતો ભકતોને સ્વામિનારાયણ મહામંત્રની ધૂન બોલીને સહુને ઝીલાવી. એ વખતે જીવનભાઇના સસરા ત્યાં ઉભા હતા એ બોલ્યા જે તમારા ગુરુ રામાનંદ સ્વામી તો પોતાના પ્રતાપે ચપટી રાખમાં સાજા કરતા..! તમે કાય એવો પ્રતાપ જણાવો. આ સાંભળીને મહાપુરુષદાસ સ્વામી બોલ્યા કે અમે પણ એજ રીતે સવાર થાય ત્યાં જીવનભાઇને સાજા કરી દઇએ પણ તમે આ જીવનભાઇને ગળા માં મંતરાવેલા દોરા પેરાવ્યા છે એ કાઢી નાખો તો..! સૌ ઘરના સભ્યો ના કહેવાથી જીવનભાઇ સસરા માન્યા ને દોરા કાઢી નાખવા તૈયાર થયા. સ્વામી સંતોના મંડળ સાથે મંદિરે આવ્યા ને સર્વે સંતોને ઠાકોરજી પાહે ઉભા રાખીને પચીસ પચીસ માળા ફેરવાવીને પોતે શ્રીજીમહારાજ ને પ્રાર્થના કરી કે હે મહારાજ..! જીવનભાઇને રતવાના દુખ મટાડીને શરીરે સારુ કરજયો. સ્વામીની અરજ સુણીને અધરાતે શ્રીજીમહારાજ જીવનભાઇને દર્શન દેવા આવ્યા પણ ડોકે મંતરાવેલા દોરા-ધાગા બાંધેલ જોઇને શ્રીહરિ જીવનભાઇના પત્નિને દર્શન દીધા. બાઇ તો હરખઘેલા થય ગયા, શ્રીહરિ કહેકે અમે તો મહાપુરુષદાસ સ્વામીની અરજે તમારા ધણીને દર્શન દેવા સારુ આવ્યા તા પણ તમારા પીતાએ જીવનભાઇની ડોકે બીજા દોરાધાગા બંધાવ્યા જોઇને ચાલ્યા..! એમને સમાચાર દેજો જે સવારે ડોકેથી દોરા-ધાગા કાઢી નાંખશો તો સવારે રતવો ફૂટી જાહે ને એમને શરીરે રાહત થાશે. સવારે એમના પત્નીએ શ્રીહરિએ દર્શન દીધા એ વાત કરીને દોરા છોડાવ્યા. જીવનભાઇને રતવાની પીડા મટીગઇને શરીરે સાજા થયા.

माळिया के जीवनभाई और श्रीजी महाराज की रक्षा
माळिया गाँव के निष्ठावान सत्संगी भक्त ठक्कर जीवनभाई एक बार अत्यंत गंभीर रूप से अस्वस्थ हो गए। उनकी गर्दन पर ‘रतवा’ (एक अत्यंत कष्टदायक, विषैला और असाध्य फोड़ा/विद्रधि) निकल आया था, जिसकी असह्य वेदना से वे दिन-रात तड़प रहे थे। उसी समय सद्गुरु महापुरुषदासजी स्वामी सत्संग विचरण करते हुए माळिया पधारे और मंदिर में ठहरे। जब किसी ने स्वामी को जीवनभाई के गंभीर रोग की सूचना दी, तो करुणामय स्वामी तुरंत उनके कुशल-क्षेम पूछने उनके घर पधारे।
स्वामी ने जीवनभाई की खाट के समीप खड़े होकर साथ आए संतों-भक्तों के साथ उच्च स्वर में स्वामिनारायण महामंत्र की दिव्य धुन का संकीर्तन कराया। उस समय जीवनभाई के ससुर भी वहीं उपस्थित थे। वे कुछ संशय और चुनौती के भाव से बोले, “आपके गुरु रामानंद स्वामी तो अपने अलौकिक प्रताप से केवल एक चुटकी भभूत (राख) देकर ही बड़े-बड़े असाध्य रोगों को दूर कर देते थे! आप भी वैसा कोई चमत्कार क्यों नहीं दिखाते?” यह सुनकर सद्गुरु महापुरुषदासजी स्वामी ने अत्यंत शांत एवं दृढ़ स्वर में कहा, “हम भी उसी प्रकार कल सुबह होते-होते जीवनभाई को पूर्णतः स्वस्थ कर सकते हैं, किंतु शर्त यह है कि आपने जीवनभाई के गले में जो टोने-टोटके और तंत्र-मंत्र के डोरे-धागे बांध रखे हैं, उन्हें तुरंत उतार फेंकना होगा!” घर के अन्य परिजनों के समझाने पर ससुर मान गए और उन तांत्रिक धागों को हटाने के लिए सहमत हुए।
तत्पश्चात स्वामी संतों के मंडल के साथ मंदिर लौटे। उन्होंने सभी संतों को ठाकुरजी के सम्मुख खड़ा रखकर पच्चीस-पच्चीस मालाओं का जप कराया और स्वयं अंतःकरण से श्रीजी महाराज के चरणों में भावभीनी प्रार्थना की: “हे दीनदयालु महाराज! जीवनभाई के इस दारुण रतवे के कष्ट को समूल नष्ट कर उनके शरीर को निरोगी और स्वस्थ कीजिए।”
अपने सच्चे संत की निष्कपट पुकार सुनकर आधी रात को साक्षात पूर्णपुरुषोत्तम श्रीजी महाराज जीवनभाई को दर्शन देने और रोगमुक्त करने उनके घर पधारे। परंतु जब श्रीहरि ने देखा कि अविश्वास के कारण उनके गले में अब भी तंत्र-मंत्र के डोरे बंधे हुए हैं, तो श्रीहरि ने जीवनभाई के सम्मुख प्रकट न होकर उनकी धर्मपरायण पत्नी को दिव्य दर्शन दिए। आधी रात को साक्षात भगवान के प्रत्यक्ष दर्शन पाकर वह बाई आनंदविभोर और गदगद हो गई। श्रीहरि ने करुणापूर्वक कहा, “हम तो महापुरुषदास स्वामी की प्रार्थना सुनकर तुम्हारे पति को दर्शन देकर स्वस्थ करने आए थे; किंतु तुम्हारे पिता ने जीवनभाई के गले में पुनः अन्य तांत्रिक डोरे-धागे बांध दिए हैं, इसलिए हम लौट रहे हैं! तुम सुबह परिजनों को यह समाचार देना कि जैसे ही वे जीवनभाई के गले से ये सारे वहमी डोरे-धागे काटकर फेंक देंगे, वैसे ही सुबह होते ही रतवा फूट जाएगा, मवाद निकल जाएगा और वे पूर्ण स्वस्थ हो जाएंगे।”
प्रातःकाल होते ही जीवनभाई की पत्नी ने रात्रि में श्रीहरि के दिव्य दर्शन और उनके वचनों का समस्त वृत्तांत सबको सुनाया। सुनते ही परिजनों ने तुरंत वे सारे तांत्रिक डोरे-धागे उतार दिए। श्रीहरि के वचनानुसार उसी समय रतवा फूटकर बह गया, जीवनभाई की सारी असह्य पीड़ा तत्काल शांत हो गई और वे पूर्णतः रोगमुक्त हो गए। इस प्रकार श्रीजी महाराज ने अपने भक्त की असाध्य रोग से रक्षा की और परिजनों को वहम तथा अंधविश्वास से मुक्त कर केवल प्रभु पर अनन्य निष्ठा रखने का मार्ग दिखाया।

Jivanbhai of Maliya and Shriji Maharaj’s Divine Protection
In the village of Maliya, a devout devotee named Thakkar Jivanbhai fell grievously ill. He developed a severe and agonizing affliction known as ratvo (an acute, painful septic abscess or carbuncle) on his neck, causing him unbearable torment day and night. Around that time, Sadguru Mahapurushdasji Swami arrived in Maliya during his Satsang spiritual tour (vicharan) and stayed at the village mandir. When someone informed Swami about Jivanbhai’s worsening condition, the compassionate sadhu promptly visited his home to inquire after his wellbeing.
Standing beside Jivanbhai’s bedside, Swami led the assembled sadhus and devotees in singing the divine chanting (dhun) of the Swaminarayan Mahamantra. Jivanbhai’s father-in-law was present at the scene and remarked somewhat skeptically, “Your Guru Ramanand Swami possessed such divine power that he would cure serious ailments with just a pinch of sacred ash (rakh)! Why do you not demonstrate a similar miracle?” Hearing this, Mahapurushdas Swami replied with serene conviction, “We too can cure Jivanbhai by tomorrow morning in that very manner, provided you immediately discard the enchanted superstitious threads and charms you have tied around his neck!” At the urging of other family members, the father-in-law relented and agreed to remove those occult charms.
Swami then returned to the mandir with his assembly of sadhus. Placing all the sadhus before the sacred murti of Thakorji, Swami instructed each to turn twenty-five rosaries (malas), while he fervently prayed to Shriji Maharaj: “O merciful Lord! Please alleviate Jivanbhai’s agonizing pain from this ratvo and restore him to sound health.”
Moved by the sincere plea of His holy sadhu, the Supreme Lord Shriji Maharaj arrived in the middle of the night at Jivanbhai’s home to bestow divine darshan and heal him. However, observing that other superstitious threads were still tied around Jivanbhai’s neck by his father-in-law, Shri Hari refrained from appearing directly to him and instead granted His divine darshan to Jivanbhai’s devoted wife. Beholding the luminous form of Shri Hari in her home at midnight, she was overwhelmed with immense joy and reverence. Shri Hari gently told her, “We came here in response to Mahapurushdas Swami’s heartfelt prayer to grant darshan to your husband and cure his illness; yet seeing that your father has tied superstitious threads around Jivanbhai’s neck, We are returning! Convey this message to them: the moment they untie and discard all those superstitious threads in the morning, the abscess will rupture and drain, and he will be completely relieved of all suffering.”
At dawn, Jivanbhai’s wife recounted the divine vision and message of Shri Hari to the entire family. Realizing their mistake, they immediately removed and discarded all superstitious threads from his neck. Just as Shri Hari had promised, the painful abscess burst open and drained naturally, the unbearable torment ceased instantly, and Jivanbhai was restored to full health. In this manner, Shriji Maharaj protected His devotee from a fatal illness while eradicating superstition and blind faith, establishing unswerving devotion solely in the Almighty.
