રતનપુરના રતનસીંહજી અને દેવાનંદ સ્વામીના આશીર્વાદ
પડધરી પાસેના રતનપર ગામના દરબાર રતનસીંહજીના બેન કુસુમકુંવરબાં ને મોરબી સ્ટેટમા પરણાવેલા. રતનસીંહજી ને એમના બેન કુસુમકુંવરબાં ને બાળપણથી જ સંસ્કાર મળેલ હતા ને પોતે દૈવી જીવ હતા. કુસુમકુંવરબાં સાસરે ગયા ને થોડા વરહ થયે સંતાન ન થતા એમના પતિએ બીજુ લગન કર્યું. બીજા નવા રાણીએ કુંવરને જન્મ દીધો એટલે રાજા એ નવા રાણીને માનિતી રાણી તરીકે રાખીને રહેવા લાગ્યા. કુસુમકુંવરબાં ને ક્ષોભ થયો પણ મનમા થયું કે મારા કર્મસંસ્કારે સંતાન સુખ નહી હોય એમ માની ને મન મનાવી લીધું. પોતે ભકિતમય જીવન વિતાવવા લાગ્યા.
રતનસીંહજી ને ઘોડેસવારી કરવા નો ઘણો શોખ હતો. પોતે અસવારી કરવામા કુશળ હતા. એકવખત રતનસીંહજી પાસે આ નવા રાણીના દિકરા મોરબીથી ઘોડેસવારી શીખવા આવ્યા. રતનસીંહજી પોતે ભાલો સાથે રાખીને ઘોડેસવારી કાયમ કરતા, એકદિવસ ઘોડો અણધાર્યો કૂદ્યો તો ભાલો એ નાનકડા કુંવરને વાગી ગયો ને કુંવર નુ અચાનક અવસાન થયું. મોરબી ના રાજા ને એમના બનેવી નો ઠપકો મળશે તો શુ કરીશુ ?
ઉપરાંત ભાણેજ રાજકુંવર મરી જતા દરબાર રતનસીંહજી તો મનમા બહુ મુંજાયા પણ થયુકે આ પંથકમાં મૂળી મંદિરના મહંત સદગુરુ દેવાનંદ સ્વામી મોટા પૃતાપી સાધુ છે તો એને મળીને વાત કંરુ. મને જરુર એ આ દુખ મા કાંક રસ્તો કાઢી આપશે.
દરબાર રતનસીંહ તો તુરંત જ મૂળી ગયા ને સદગુરુ દેવાનંદ સ્વામીના દર્શન કરીને એમને વાત્ય કરી. સ્વામીએ એમને ધિરજ આપી ને બોલ્યા કે દરબાર, શ્રીજીમહારાજ સૌ સારા વાના કરશે, એજ સર્વ કર્તાહર્તા છે. પોતાના ભક્ત ઉપર શૂળીનુ દુખ હોય તો કાંટાના દુખે ઉગારે છે. તમે નચિંત રહોને મંદિરે દેવના દર્શન કરીને હમણાં અહી રોકાઓ.
દરબાર ને આશ્વાસન મળ્યુ ને પોતાના મનનો ભાર હળવો થયો. પોતે અઠવાડીયુ ત્યાજ સ્વામીના કહેવા થી રોકાયા. મૂળી મંદિર થી પોતે પોતાના ગામ જાવા નીકળવાનો સંકલ્પ કરતા હતા તે સદગુરુ દેવાનંદ સ્વામી પાસે રજા લેવા આવ્યા. ત્યાં ઘોડેસવાર સમાચાર લઇને આવ્યો તે દરબારને મનમા સંકલ્પ થયો ને મનમાં થયુકે હવે શુ કાય ખરાબ સમાચાર તો નહી હોય ને?
દેવાનંદ સ્વામીએ દરબાર મનનાં સંકલ્પને જાણીને ધરપત આપતા બોલ્યા કે દરબાર..! આ અસવાર તમને પકડવા નહી પણ તમને વધામણી દેવા આવ્યો છે.
ઘોડેસ્વાર ઘોડેથી ઉતરીને સ્વામીને પગે લાગીને લાલ અક્ષરે લખેલ કંકોતરી દરબારના હાથ મા દીધી. કંકોતરી મા લખેલ હતું કે ભાઇ રતનસીંહજી ને માલુમ થાય કે તમારા બહેન કુસુમકુંવરબાં એ પુત્ર નો જન્મ દીધેલ છે. તમારા થી થયેલ અપરાધ માફ કરવા મા આવે છે ને તમારા ભાણેજ ની વધામણી તરીકે તમને ગામ રતનપુર બક્ષીસ ગરાસમા આપવામાં આવે છે.
દરબારના આનંદનો પાર ન રહ્યો. દોડીને સ્વામીને પગમાં પડી ગયા ને આંખમાં થી આંસુઓની ધારાઓ વહેવા લાગી. સદગુરુ દેવાનંદ સ્વામી પાસે વર્તમાન ધરાવ્યા ને પોતે સત્સંગી થયા. સ્વામીને મૂળી મંદિરના દેવોની સેવા સારુ એકસો વિઘા જમીન કૃષ્ણાર્પણ કરી.

रतनपुर के रतनसिंहजी और देवानंद स्वामी का आशीर्वाद
पड़धरी के समीप स्थित रतनपुर गाँव के दरबार रतनसिंहजी की बहन कुसुमकुँवरबा का विवाह मोरबी रियासत में हुआ था। रतनसिंहजी और उनकी बहन कुसुमकुँवरबा को बचपन से ही उत्तम संस्कार प्राप्त हुए थे और वे दोनों ही दैवी जीव थे। कुसुमकुँवरबा जब ससुराल गईं, तो कुछ वर्षों तक कोई संतान न होने पर उनके पति ने दूसरा विवाह कर लिया। दूसरी नई रानी ने एक कुँवर (राजकुमार) को जन्म दिया, जिससे राजा उस नई रानी को अपनी प्रिय रानी मानकर उसके साथ रहने लगे। कुसुमकुँवरबा को मन में क्षोभ तो हुआ, किंतु उन्होंने यह सोचकर अपने मन को मना लिया कि कदाचित मेरे प्रारब्ध में संतान-सुख नहीं लिखा होगा। वे अपना जीवन पूरी तरह भक्तिभाव में व्यतीत करने लगीं।
रतनसिंहजी को घुड़सवारी का बहुत शौक था और वे अश्वारोहण में अत्यंत कुशल थे। एक बार रतनसिंहजी के पास नई रानी के वह पुत्र मोरबी से घुड़सवारी सीखने के लिए आए। रतनसिंहजी घुड़सवारी करते समय सदैव अपने साथ भाला रखते थे। एक दिन घुड़सवारी के दौरान घोड़ा अचानक उछल पड़ा, जिससे भाला उस नन्हे राजकुमार को लग गया और उसका आकस्मिक देहांत हो गया। यह देखकर रतनसिंहजी अत्यंत व्यथित और चिंतित हो गए कि यदि मोरबी के राजा और उनके बहनोई का उग्र रोष उन पर हुआ, तो वे क्या करेंगे?
भांजे की इस आकस्मिक मृत्यु से दरबार रतनसिंहजी मन ही मन अत्यंत व्याकुल हो उठे। फिर उन्होंने सोचा कि इस क्षेत्र में मूली मंदिर के महंत सद्गुरु देवानंद स्वामी अत्यंत प्रतापी संत हैं, अतः उनके पास जाकर पूरी बात कहनी चाहिए; वे निश्चित ही इस घोर संकट में कोई न कोई मार्ग निकालेंगे।
दरबार रतनसिंहजी तत्काल मूली पहुँचे और सद्गुरु देवानंद स्वामी के दर्शन कर उन्हें अपनी पूरी व्यथा कह सुनाई। स्वामीजी ने उन्हें धीरज बंधाते हुए कहा, “हे दरबार! श्रीजी महाराज सब मंगल करेंगे। वही सर्व कर्ताधर्ता हैं। वे अपने भक्त पर आने वाले शूली के दुःख को एक छोटे से काँटे की चुभन मात्र से टाल देते हैं। आप सर्वथा निश्चिंत रहिए और मंदिर में देवों के दर्शन कर अभी कुछ दिन यहीं निवास कीजिए।”
दरबार को इस वचन से बड़ा संबल मिला और उनके मन का भारी बोझ हल्का हो गया। स्वामीजी के कहे अनुसार वे लगभग एक सप्ताह तक वहीं मूली मंदिर में रुके। जब वे मूली मंदिर से अपने गाँव लौटने का संकल्प कर सद्गुरु देवानंद स्वामी से आज्ञा लेने आए, तभी एक घुड़सवार संदेश लेकर वहाँ पहुँचा। उसे देखकर दरबार के मन में संशय और भय उत्पन्न हुआ कि कहीं कोई अशुभ समाचार तो नहीं आया?
सद्गुरु देवानंद स्वामी ने दरबार के मन के संशय को तुरंत जान लिया और ढांढस बंधाते हुए बोले, “दरबार! यह सवार आपको बंदी बनाने नहीं, बल्कि शुभ समाचार और बधाई देने आया है!”
घुड़सवार ने घोड़े से उतरकर पहले स्वामीजी के चरणों में प्रणाम किया और फिर लाल अक्षरों से लिखी पत्रिका (कंकौतरी) दरबार के हाथों में थमा दी। उस पत्र में लिखा था—‘भाई रतनसिंहजी को विदित हो कि आपकी बहन कुसुमकुँवरबा ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया है। आपके द्वारा हुई भूल को क्षमा कर दिया गया है और आपके नवजात भांजे की बधाई के उपलक्ष्य में आपको रतनपुर गाँव जागीर (गरास) स्वरूप भेंट में प्रदान किया जाता है।’
यह जानकर दरबार रतनसिंहजी के आनंद की कोई सीमा न रही। वे दौड़कर स्वामीजी के चरणों में गिर पड़े और कृतज्ञता से उनकी आँखों से अश्रुओं की धारा बह निकली। उन्होंने सद्गुरु देवानंद स्वामी से वर्तमान ग्रहण कर विधिवत सत्संग की दीक्षा ली और निष्ठावान सत्संगी बन गए। साथ ही, उन्होंने मूली मंदिर के देवों की सेवा हेतु सौ बीघा भूमि कृष्णार्पण कर दी।

Ratansinhji of Ratanpur and the Blessings of Devanand Swami
Kusumkunvarba, the sister of Darbar Ratansinhji of Ratanpur village near Padadhari, was married into the royal state of Morbi. Ratansinhji and his sister Kusumkunvarba had been imbued with noble spiritual values since childhood and were divine souls. After Kusumkunvarba moved to her in-laws’ home, several years passed without any offspring, prompting her husband (the King) to remarry. The new queen gave birth to a prince, and consequently, the King made her his favored queen. Kusumkunvarba felt sorrowful, but she consoled herself with the understanding that her past karmas might not have destined her for the happiness of having children, and she devoted her entire life to spiritual devotion.
Ratansinhji was extremely passionate about horse riding and was an exceptionally skilled equestrian. Once, the son of the new queen came from Morbi to learn horse riding from Ratansinhji. Ratansinhji always carried a spear with him while riding. One day, the horse unexpectedly bucked, and the spear accidentally struck the young prince, causing his tragic and sudden death. Ratansinhji was struck with immense grief and distress, wondering how he would face the wrath of the King of Morbi and his brother-in-law.
Devastated by the tragic demise of his nephew, Darbar Ratansinhji was deeply troubled. Then he remembered that Sadguru Devanand Swami, the Mahant of the Muli Mandir in the region, was a spiritually exalted and powerful saint. He thought, “I should go and confide everything in him; he will surely show me a way out of this calamity.”
Darbar Ratansinhji immediately rushed to Muli, had the divine darshan of Sadguru Devanand Swami, and narrated the entire misfortune. Reassuring him with solace and patience, Swami said, “O Darbar! Shriji Maharaj will set everything right; He alone is the supreme all-doer (sarva karta-harta). When His devotee is destined to suffer the agony of the gallows, Maharaj redeems them with the mere prick of a thorn. Remain calm and peaceful, perform darshan of the deities in the temple, and stay here for now.”
Darbar felt immensely comforted, and the heavy burden weighing upon his heart was relieved. Following Swami’s wish, he stayed at the temple for a week. When he decided to return to his village, he approached Sadguru Devanand Swami to seek his blessings and leave. Just then, a royal horseman arrived carrying a message. Seeing him, Darbar was seized with apprehension, fearing it might be dreadful news.
Discerning the anxious thoughts of Darbar, Devanand Swami reassuringly said, “Darbar! This horseman has not come to arrest you, but has arrived to deliver joyous tidings!”
The horseman dismounted, prostrated at Swami’s holy feet, and handed Darbar an auspicious letter written in vermilion script. The letter read: “To brother Ratansinhji: Be it known that your sister Kusumkunvarba has given birth to a son. The accidental offense committed by you has been pardoned, and in celebration of the joyous birth of your nephew, the village of Ratanpur is bestowed upon you as a royal grant (garas).”
Upon reading this, Darbar’s joy knew no bounds. He rushed forward and fell at Swami’s lotus feet, tears of profound gratitude flowing from his eyes. He received the vows (vartaman) from Sadguru Devanand Swami and formally embraced Satsang. In humble devotion, he offered one hundred bighas of land to the holy deities of Muli Mandir.
