પરમજ્ઞાનાનંદ સ્વામી અને દિવ્ય દ્રષ્ટિ
એકસમયે વડતાલમાં બપોરે શ્રીરામપૃતાપભાઇ ના બંગલામાં શ્રીજીમહારાજ ઢોલીયે પોઢ્યા હતા. શ્રીહરિ મુખારવિંદ ઉપર ચાદર ઓઢી હતીને બંને ચરણારવિંદ ઉઘાડા થકા પોઢ્યા હતા ને મુળજી બૃહ્મચારી વીંઝણો નાંખીને પવન નાંખતા હતા. તે સમે નૃસિંહાનંદસ્વામી ને પરમજ્ઞાનાનંદસ્વામી શ્રીજીમહારાજનાં દર્શન કરવા આવ્યા. શ્રીહરિ ને દંડવત કરીને બને સંતો શ્રીજીમહારાજનાં ચરણારવિદમાં સોળ ચિહ્ન છે, તેને નીરખી નીરખી ને અંતરમા ઉતારતા થકા ભાવથી દરશન કરવા મંડ્યા. ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજ મુખારવિંદ ઉપરથી વસ્ત્ર એકતરફ કરીને બોલ્યા કે સાધુરામ..! શું જુઓ છો? ત્યારે નૃસિંહાનંદસ્વામી બોલ્યા કે હે મહારાજ આપના ચરણારવિંદ મા સોળ ચિહ્ન છે, તેનાં દર્શન કરીએ છીએ. ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજ કહે કે સાધુરામ જુઓ..! અમારા એ ચિહ્ને સહિત જો કોઇ ચરણારવિદનું ધ્યાન કરે તો એને સમાધિ થાય. પછી પરમજ્ઞાનાનંદસ્વામીએ પોતે સમાધિની ઇચ્છા રાખીને એમ ધ્યાન કર્યું. તેણે કરીને મહારાજ ના આશીર્વાદ રુપે એ સમયે જ એમને સમાધિ થઈ ને કાંઇક સિદ્ધિઓ પ્રગટી. તે આંહીં બેઠા થકા અક્ષરાદિક ભગવાનનાં ધામ તથા બ્રહ્માદિક સર્વે દેવનાં ધામ, તથા સર્વ જીવ પ્રાણી માત્રના ઘાટ સંકલ્પ તેને જાણતા થઇ ગયા. પોતે પોતાની રીતે સ્વતંત્ર થકા જ કોઇના મનમા પૃવેશ કરીને સંકલ્પો જાણવા મંડયા. તે વાત પરમજ્ઞાનાનંદ સ્વામીએ સદગુરુ ગોપાળાનંદસ્વામીને કહી ત્યારે સ્વામીએ તુરતંજ કહ્યું જે, “તમારું ભૂંડું થાવાનું થયું. જે સર્વના સંકલ્પ જાણવા તેણે કરીને સારા સારા ભગવાનના ભક્તોના અવગુણ આવશે. કેમ કે, રજોગુણને યોગે કરીને તે સમે એના અંતઃકરણમાં મલિન ઘાટ થાતા હોય ત્યારે તમારા મનમાં એમ થાય જે, આ તો મહારાજ વખાણે છે, તેવા સંત કે હરિભક્ત નથી. પછી તમે પણ અવગુણ લઈને તેવા થઈ જાશો ને એ તો ભગવાન સહન કરી શકે, પણ તમારાથી સહન નહિ થાય.” સદગુરુ ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામીની શીખની આ વાત સાંભળીને પરમજ્ઞાનાનંદસ્વામી ને મનમા મનમા થયું કે આતો ભારે કરી, સત્સંગમા સંતો-ભક્તો નો રાજીપો નહી રહે એમ વિચારતા થકા એમણે સદગુરુ ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામીને પુછયુ કે સ્વામી…! હવે હુ કેમ કરું.” ત્યારે પછી ગોપાળાનંદ સ્વામી એ પૃસન્ન થઇને ઉપાય દીધો કે “શ્રીજીમહારાજ સર્વ કર્તાહર્તા છે, ને એમણે તમને આ દિવ્ય દ્રષ્ટિ આપી છે તો એમને જ પ્રાર્થના કરો.” પછી પ્રાર્થના કરી જે, “હે મહારાજ ! તમારી મૂર્તિ વિના કાંઈ દેખાય નહિ.” એમ છ માસ સુધી પ્રાર્થના કરી ત્યારે બીજાના ઘાટ સંકલ્પ દેખાતા ટળ્યા.

परमज्ञानानंद स्वामी और दिव्य दृष्टि
एक समय वडताल में दोपहर के समय श्रीरामप्रतापभाई के बंगले में श्रीजी महाराज ढोलिए (पलंग) पर पोढ़े (विश्राम कर रहे) थे। श्रीहरि ने अपने मुखारविंद पर चादर ओढ़ रखी थी और दोनों चरणारविंद खुले रखकर पोढ़े थे। मूलजी ब्रह्मचारी पंखा झलकर वायु कर रहे थे। उस समय नृसिंहानंद स्वामी और परमज्ञानानंद स्वामी श्रीजी महाराज के दर्शन करने आए। श्रीहरि को दंडवत प्रणाम करके दोनों संत श्रीजी महाराज के चरणारविंद में स्थित सोलह चिह्नों को निहार-निहार कर, हृदय में धारण करते हुए भावविभोर होकर दर्शन करने लगे। तब श्रीजी महाराज ने अपने मुखारविंद से वस्त्र एक ओर हटाकर कहा, “साधुराम! क्या देख रहे हैं?”
तब नृसिंहानंद स्वामी बोले, “हे महाराज! आपके चरणारविंद में जो सोलह चिह्न हैं, हम उनके दर्शन कर रहे हैं।” तब श्रीजी महाराज ने कहा, “साधुराम, देखिए! हमारे इन चिह्नों सहित यदि कोई हमारे चरणारविंद का ध्यान करे, तो उसे समाधि हो जाती है।”
इसके बाद परमज्ञानानंद स्वामी ने स्वयं समाधि की अभिलाषा रखकर उसी प्रकार ध्यान किया। इसके फलस्वरूप महाराज के आशीर्वाद स्वरूप उसी क्षण उन्हें समाधि हो गई और कुछ सिद्धियाँ प्रकट हो गईं। वे यहाँ बैठे-बैठे ही अक्षरादिक भगवान के धाम तथा ब्रह्मादिक सभी देवों के धाम, और समस्त जीव-प्राणियों के मन के संकल्प-विकल्प जानने लगे। वे स्वतंत्र रूप से किसी के भी मन में प्रवेश करके उसके संकल्प जानने लगे।
यह बात जब परमज्ञानानंद स्वामी ने सद्गुरु गोपालानंद स्वामी को बताई, तब स्वामी ने तुरंत ही कहा, “यह तो आपका अनिष्ट (बुरा) होने का लक्षण हुआ। सभी के संकल्प जानने से अच्छे-अच्छे भगवद्भक्तों के भी अवगुण दिखाई देने लगेंगे। क्योंकि रजोगुण के प्रभाव से उस समय उनके अंतःकरण में कोई मलिन विचार या संकल्प उठ रहे हों, तो आपके मन में विचार आएगा कि महाराज जिनकी इतनी प्रशंसा करते हैं, वे ऐसे संत या हरिभक्त तो नहीं हैं। फिर आप भी उनका अवगुण लेकर वैसे ही पतन को प्राप्त हो जाएँगे। ऐसे संकल्पों को तो केवल भगवान ही सहन कर सकते हैं, आपके लिए यह सहन करना संभव नहीं होगा।”
सद्गुरु गोपालानंद स्वामी की यह सीख सुनकर परमज्ञानानंद स्वामी के मन में गहरा भय हुआ कि यह तो बहुत भारी भूल हो गई, इससे तो सत्संग में संतों और भक्तों का राजीपा (प्रसन्नता) नहीं रहेगा। ऐसा विचार करते हुए उन्होंने सद्गुरु गोपालानंद स्वामी से पूछा, “स्वामी! अब मैं क्या करूँ?”
तब गोपालानंद स्वामी ने प्रसन्न होकर उपाय बताया, “श्रीजी महाराज ही सर्व कर्ता-धर्ता हैं, और उन्होंने ही आपको यह दिव्य दृष्टि दी है, अतः आप उन्हीं से प्रार्थना कीजिए।” इसके पश्चात स्वामी ने प्रार्थना की, “हे महाराज! आपकी दिव्य मूर्ति के अतिरिक्त मुझे अन्य कुछ भी न दिखाई दे।” इस प्रकार छह मास तक निरंतर प्रार्थना करने पर दूसरों के मन के संकल्प और विचार दिखना बंद हुए।

Paramgnananand Swami and the Divine Vision
Once at noon in Vadtal, Shriji Maharaj was resting on a cot in Rampratapbhai’s bungalow. Shri Hari had covered His divine face with a sheet while His holy lotus feet (charanarvind) remained uncovered, and Mulji Brahmachari was gently fanning Him. At that time, Nrusinhanand Swami and Paramgnananand Swami arrived for the darshan of Shriji Maharaj. Prostrating before Shri Hari, both saints began gazing intently and devotionally at the sixteen divine auspicious marks on Shriji Maharaj’s holy feet, absorbing the divine image into their hearts. Noticing this, Shriji Maharaj moved the cloth aside from His face and asked, “Sadhuram! What are you looking at?”
Nrusinhanand Swami replied, “O Maharaj! We are having darshan of the sixteen divine marks upon Your lotus feet.” Shriji Maharaj then revealed, “Look, Sadhuram! If anyone meditates upon Our lotus feet along with these auspicious marks, they enter into a state of divine samadhi.”
Thereupon, yearning for samadhi, Paramgnananand Swami meditated upon the lotus feet as instructed. By the divine grace and blessings of Maharaj, he instantly entered samadhi, and several mystical powers (siddhis) manifested within him. Sitting right there, he could perceive Akshardham and other divine abodes of God, the realms of Brahma and other deities, and could clearly read the innermost thoughts and desires of all living beings. He began entering into people’s minds at will to perceive their hidden thoughts.
When Paramgnananand Swami narrated this to Sadguru Gopalanand Swami, Swami immediately warned him, “This is the beginning of harm for your spiritual welfare. By reading everyone’s inner thoughts, you will inevitably perceive faults in great and genuine devotees of God. Under the temporary influence of rajoguna, unholy or worldly thoughts may occasionally arise in their minds; seeing that, you might think that these saints and devotees are not as pure as Maharaj praises them to be. Consequently, by harboring negative impressions (avaguna), you too will fall spiritually. Only God can endure and absorb the flaws of souls; it is beyond your capacity to endure them.”
Hearing this profound counsel from Sadguru Gopalanand Swami, Paramgnananand Swami became anxious, realizing the grave danger: “I have brought great trouble upon myself; I will lose the grace and pleasure (rajipo) of the saints and devotees in Satsang.” With genuine remorse, he asked Sadguru Gopalanand Swami, “Swami, what should I do now?”
Pleased with his humility, Gopalanand Swami suggested the remedy: “Shriji Maharaj is the ultimate supreme doer (Karta-Harta), and He is the one who granted you this divine vision; therefore, pray sincerely to Him alone.” Paramgnananand Swami then prayed earnestly, “O Maharaj! May I perceive nothing other than Your divine murti!” He prayed continuously in this manner for six months, after which the ability to see the inner thoughts and mental states of others finally ceased.
