બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામી અને પ્રસાદીની રમુજ
એક વખત ગઢપુરમા સદગુરુ અદભૂતાનંદ સ્વામી એક પુસ્તક લખીને શ્રીહરિ અક્ષરઓરડીએ બીરાજતા હતા ત્યાં આવ્યા, પુસ્તક ને જોઇને શ્રીજીમહારાજ સદગુરુ અદભૂતાનંદ સ્વામી ઉપર ઘણા રાજી થયા ને તેને બપોર નો થાળ આપ્યો, તે લઈને તેઓ પોતાના આસને જવા ચાલ્યા, ત્યારે સખા બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામી પ્રસાદ મેળવવાની આશાએ કહ્યું કે, “હે મહારાજ, આ દાસને કાંઈ પ્રસાદ મળશે કે આજે આમજ વાયુ ભક્ષણ કરીને રેવુ પડશે?” ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજ હસ્યા ને કહે કે, “આજે દાસને કાંઈ નહિ મળે, દાસને તો રોજ મળે છે ને આતો આજ આ સાધુ પુસ્તક લઈને આવ્યા. તેને બચારાને નિત્ય કયાં મળે છે? તે સારૂ આજતો દાસે બવ તાણ કરવી નહીં. ત્યારે બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામીએ મનમા જાણ્યું જે આજે તો મહારાજના થાળની પ્રસાદી નહીં જડે, પછી સ્વામીશ્રી અદભૂતાનંદસ્વામી પ્રત્યે બોલ્યા ને પ્રસાદ મેળવવા અરજ કરી.
અદભૂતાનંદ સ્વામીએ થાળ હેઠો ઉતારીને, વાટકો ભરીને થાળમાંથી પ્રસાદી બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામીને આપી, ત્યારે શ્રીજીમહારાજ હસીને કહે કે, “જુઓ, આ દાસ કેવા ખંધા છે? જે ગરીબ સાધુ પાસેથી પણ લોંઠાએ પ્રસાદી લીધી” ત્યારે સદગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામી કહે સદગુરુ અદભૂતાનંદ સ્વામી તો બહુ જ દયાળુ છે; તે અમને દીધા વગર રહે જ નહીં.” ત્યારે મહારાજ હસીને બોલ્યા જે, પણ તોય ધાડ પડાવવી એ ઠીક નહીં!’ ત્યારે બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામી કહે કે, “ધાડ પડાવી કે રાજી કરીને લીધી?” એવી રીતે ઘણી રમુજ કરીને મહારાજને ઘણા હસાવ્યા, પછે શ્રીહરિ ઉભા થયા ને વાસુદેવ નારાયણના ઓરડામાં જઈને પોઢયા, અને બ્રહ્માનંદસ્વામી આદિક સૌ સંતો પોત પોતાને આસને ગયા.

ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी और प्रसादी का विनोद
एक समय गढ़पुर में सद्गुरु अद्भुतानंद स्वामी एक ग्रंथ लिखकर श्रीहरि के पास लाए, जब महाराज अक्षर ओरडी में विराजमान थे। उस ग्रंथ को देखकर श्रीजी महाराज सद्गुरु अद्भुतानंद स्वामी पर अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और उन्हें दोपहर का प्रसादी थाल प्रदान किया। अद्भुतानंद स्वामी वह थाल लेकर अपने आसन की ओर जाने लगे।
उसी समय सखा भाव रखने वाले सद्गुरु ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी ने प्रसादी पाने की अभिलाषा से श्रीजी महाराज से परिहास करते हुए कहा, “हे महाराज! क्या इस दास को भी आज कुछ प्रसाद मिलेगा, या आज ऐसे ही केवल वायु भक्षण करके रहना पड़ेगा?”
तब श्रीजी महाराज हँसते हुए बोले, “आज दास को कुछ नहीं मिलेगा! दास को तो नित्य प्रसादी मिलती ही है, किंतु आज ये साधु ग्रंथ लिखकर लाए हैं। भला इन बेचारे को नित्य कहाँ ऐसा थाल मिलता है? इसलिए आज दास को अधिक हठ नहीं करना चाहिए।”
यह सुनकर ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी समझ गए कि आज महाराज के हाथों से सीधे थाल की प्रसादी नहीं मिलने वाली है। अतः वे तुरंत अद्भुतानंद स्वामी की ओर मुड़े और उनसे प्रसादी देने की विनती की।
सद्गुरु अद्भुतानंद स्वामी ने थाल को नीचे रखा और एक कटोरा भरकर थाल में से प्रसादी ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी को दे दी। यह देखकर श्रीजी महाराज ने हँसते हुए कहा, “देखो तो सही, यह दास कितने चतुर हैं! इस सीधे-सादे साधु से भी इस हठीले ने प्रसादी ले ही ली!”
तब सद्गुरु ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी ने उत्तर दिया, “सद्गुरु अद्भुतानंद स्वामी तो अत्यंत कृपालु और दयालु हैं; वे भला हमें दिए बिना कैसे रह सकते हैं?”
इस पर महाराज ने फिर हँसकर चुटकी ली, “वह तो ठीक है, किंतु इस प्रकार डाका डालना भी तो उचित नहीं है!”
तब ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी ने तुरंत विनोदपूर्ण उत्तर दिया, “महाराज! डाका डाला है अथवा उन्हें प्रसन्न करके प्रसादी ली है?”
इस प्रकार ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी ने श्रीजी महाराज के साथ सुंदर विनोद और हास्य-विलास किया, जिससे महाराज खिलखिलाकर हँस पड़े। इसके पश्चात श्रीहरि उठकर वासुदेव नारायण के कमरे में विश्राम करने पधारे, और ब्रह्मानंद स्वामी आदि सभी संत भी अपने-अपने आसन पर चले गए।

Brahmanand Swami and the Delightful Humor of Prasadi
Once in Gadhpur, Sadguru Adbhutanand Swami completed writing a sacred text and brought it to Shri Hari, who was seated in the Akshar Ordi. Delighted upon seeing the manuscript, Shriji Maharaj showered great grace upon Sadguru Adbhutanand Swami and gifted him the sanctified afternoon thal (offering of consecrated food). As Adbhutanand Swami was carrying the thal back to his seat, Sadguru Brahmanand Swami, who shared a unique friendly bond (sakha-bhav) with the Lord, yearned for the sacred prasadi and playfully asked: “O Maharaj! Will this servant receive any prasadi today, or must I survive merely on air?”
Smiling, Shriji Maharaj replied, “Today, this servant shall get nothing! You receive prasadi every single day, whereas this innocent sadhu has brought a newly written scripture. Where does he ever receive such an offering daily? Therefore, today you should not insist!”
Brahmanand Swami realized that he would not receive the prasad directly from Maharaj’s thal today. So, turning his attention to Adbhutanand Swami, he affectionately appealed to him for a portion of the consecrated food.
Sadguru Adbhutanand Swami gently placed the thal down, filled a bowl with the sanctified delicacies, and lovingly offered it to Brahmanand Swami. Seeing this, Shriji Maharaj laughed and remarked, “Just look at how shrewd this servant is! He has extracted prasadi even from a simple, humble sadhu!”
Sadguru Brahmanand Swami replied, “Sadguru Adbhutanand Swami is exceedingly kind and compassionate; he could never bear to leave without giving me some!”
Maharaj laughed again and teased, “Even so, staging such a raid is hardly fair!”
Brahmanand Swami wittily responded, “Was it a raid, Maharaj, or was it received by winning his heart and delighting him?”
Through such loving banter and humor, Brahmanand Swami brought great joy and laughter to Shriji Maharaj. Thereafter, Shri Hari rose and retired for rest in the room of Vasudev Narayan, while Brahmanand Swami and all the other saints returned to their respective quarters.
